  1. :11:0 Another great weekend for our DZ, Skydive Palatka, we are growing and having fun. Closing down to go to Dublin this weekend! Blue Skies, Art
  2. :29:1 Had my first malfunction in 6 1/2 years and god knows how many jumps, although it was a test jump. Congrads to Ernie on his 100th, sorry I missed it dude (just too many tandems), we are still jumping into your wedding! Thanks to everyone who made Skydive Palatka such a fun place this past weekend! blue skies, art
  3. Hey, just want to say thanks to swoop for putting together a good boogie. I do feel his pain however, as we never got a full day of jumping in during the weekend. We are definitely coming back next year. So....if you want to go to a laid back, good times, great views and wonderful support people....last weekend in January 2007.
  4. Hey Jeff, if you need some more bodies, put me in coach! I think I am qualified
  5. Hey Emily, other than the helicopter (it had unforseen maintanace issues) what was not delivered that was promised. Sorry, but if someone has an issue, I really would like to see it addressed. We purposefully scheduled no Tandems (although we took walk-ups on space availiable only). We did lots of free/reduced price tandems for the vendors. The AFF and Static line students were from the Falling Gators and the UNF skydiving clubs. Tammie was giving free instruction and loaning out suits for the Birdman flocks. Larry and Jeff (Guy) were organizing the belly flyers. The Lees did a wonderful job of keeping everyone fed. Manifest and the pilots kept the loads turning. I am sorry, just trying to figure out what wasn't "delivered". Other than the low turnout, I think Jared oganized a wonderful boogie and hopefully it will grow into what Mark Wheeler originally had in mind when he started this many years ago. Blue Skies, Art PS Congrads to Jean for making her 100th skydive on Monday!

  11. We are having a quickly thrown together event this weekend at Skydive Palatka to help some abandoned pets from the New Orleans area. Our Caravan is flying there around the 22nd of December to bring food to an animal shelter and on the return flight, bring some of the animals back to Florida for adoption. This weekend, Dec 17 and 18, anyone donating 50lbs of dog or cat food gets to jump for $18 a load that day. Also, anyone wanting to do a tandem will get $25 off the cost of the tandem with a 50lb (dog or cat food) donation. So come on out and support this worthy cause! Blue Skies, Art
  12. There is plenty of room to camp. There is a building with floor space, but it isn't very large. There is a shower also. As far as jump tickets go, right now we are charging $20 a jump, so it ought to be somewhere in that neighborhood for the boogie.
  13. First jump in February1985, LR-288 in an old Wonderhog container, no AAD. Other than reserve rides, two round jumps under PC's after about 200 jumps. Art, D-10182
  14. Wouldn't be the "first" time they woke up in bed together
  15. Ya'll two are special alright, just keep your clothes on this time and less will be said about it!
  16. We (Skydive Palatka) will have AFF instructors on hand, but please send me a note so we have an idea of how many people may be doing AFF. That way we can be sure to have enough instructors on hand. Blue Skies, Art
  17. Ernie, really now, word is you bought a present for someone special, I think that may be your first time doing that!
  18. :18:1 Jumping for five days straght with a head cold started to get old on the fourth one (only two jumps that day). Another great Thanksgiving jumping day at Uncle Leon's (a Skydive Palatka tradition, my 14th year). I am going to tell you, those Georgia women know how to cook! I graduated my first TM since becoming an evaluator, congradulations to Justin Jones! (beer for me). The drop zone's Caravan also turned 19 loads this weekend, thanks to everyone who came out to support it! Art
  19. Tammie and I are going again!
  20. /7/0 First weekend with our Caravan! Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy it! Ernie, seven caes, should do for Saturday night! Whoops, better make it Friday, I have to be Santa Claus Saturday at the Ritz! We are jumping on Friday so come on out so we can get the Caravan up!
  21. I personally have run five marathons and one full ironman. They are actually a lot of fun. I always have picked one with a location I wanted to travel to and ennjoyed the sights along the way. Just remember to do some cross-training (biking, swimming, etc.) to keep from getting too burned out during your training. Most of all, the best thing about it is, everyone involved that you meet is in very good shape .
  22. /12/0 Found out on a night jump, that a pilot chute doesn't work will when it isn't cocked, even with a pullout! Almost jumped my own reserve pack job. Would that mean I have to buy myself a bottle?
