    Hog Flop 2005

Some Pictures from the boogie, the first was just before Barbie's ill-fated jump. The second is Michael Patterson (who grew up at the old Palatka Paracenter) making his first tandem.
  5. Jeff is collecting video, so anyone who has some they want to send him, contact the drop zone. Art

That is why Jeff hid the keys to ours, we know how the locals drive! Chuck, you didn't fake a broken leg to cover for your throbbing head, have to go with originality. But Pete got up and made a jump after being left for dead on Saturday night I have taken them both up now, they are already planning for next year. They ran out of food around 2 on Sunday! Thanks for coming! Tell Katie if we find Barbie, we will return her. After the cops returned the raft, I went ahead and told them to be on the look out her! Who knows? Blue Skies, Art

Yeah Chad, I enjoyed every minute of it, I was trying to get her to go back for a recharge!

Chris, I am sorry that our judge (a gymnast) ruled against you. The sad part is you tried to buy her off with candy. Also, the piss test results are back and although there were no signs of steroid use, the other things that showed up I will keep to myself Thanks for coming, we will definitely see you in Dublin and try the round robin jumps on Wednesday! blue skies, art

    Hog Flop 2005

Geez, I hope I don't miss anyone with the thank you's! I had a great time with our first boogie! Jess and the girls did a great job in Manifest. Jeff work tirelessly cleaning up, fetching rafts, other assorted items and fueling airplanes. The two pilots flew very hard, Tristen actually didn't walk on the ground for nearly eight hours on Saturday. We flew a total of 47 skyvan, 21 helicopter and two cessna loads for a total of 950 skydives for the weekend. It couldn't have been done without all of the great people who decided to come this weekend. We will definitely plan to do it again next year (I will also have another turbine on standby). On a footnote, those were real sheriffs returning the raft, it was not a punk'd skit. Also, we have inform the farmer who mows the fields to keep an eye out for Barbie, just in case. Although my lawyers have informed me that the shocking game may not be in my best interest....it was very fun none the less. Also and not least Jeremy Pike is this receipent of the Adam Lane Award (given to the skydiver who cannot skydive the next day due to too much indulgence the previous night). That lame excuse of I am out of money as he was popping the ib's just doesn't cut it in the judges point of view. Thanks again to everyone who made this weekend happen!
  12. Hey Ben, you disappear from the face of the earth with no explaination and now you want us to beg for you to show up? Get your sorry butt down here and put some jumps on all that gear you bought before it starts rotting in the closet!
  13. BREAKING NEWS...the Skyvan and the helicopter are at the Drop Zone. As of right now the plan is for jumping Friday, Saturday and Sunday. God strike me down for saying this, but the weather prediction is excellent for the weekend! Tomorrow, anyone interested in helping us set up, please come on out! We will be jumping in the afternoon, number of jumpers there will determine which plane is being used. Anyone travelling, please be safe, if you need directions, please sign onto the website, www.skydivepalatka.com.
  14. Yes, we have several rigs for rent, although it is on a first come first serve basis.
  15. Give me a call bryan, we will get it worked out. Art
  16. Adam, what surprize? There has always been a registration fee, but last year I am not sure if you even remember that as the blue water bit you early and often on Friday night.
  17. Okay, this is the deal as I last heard it(and it is coming from the DZO) ... the Skyvan will be flying loads on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Jump prices will be $21 (if the fuel prices drop any further, the savings will be passed along to ya'll). There will be a $25 registration fee which will include beer (mich lite, beer truck is also bringing some Miller Lite) on Friday and Saturday nights. At this point I am trying to confirm the helicopter is going to be there again. Also we will be having food for everyone on Saturday evening (smoked turkey and butts, baked beans and potato salad). People participating in the Hog-Flop competition (trophies for the top three teams), the video slot is being covered by yours truly, so please take care of your videographer! All gear will be inspected, must be TSO'd and in date. There is a rigger on the premises. All jumpers must belong to USPA and have completed their student jumps (i.e. A-license not required). Please, if you haven't jumped here before, get a breifing of the area before you go up. There are plenty of "outs", but lets make sure you know where they are before you jump. There are several hotels in the area, all within 5 to 10 minutes of the DZ. Budget Inn 386-328-1533 Moorings 386-325-1055 Best Western 800-528-1234 Wm Penn 386-328-1587 Camping is permitted on the DZ. There are only two showers though, so maybe plan to shower early or late??? There are no more availiable RV hook-ups, but they are of course welcome. Aerodyne will be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday with demo canopies. This is my first boogie as a DZO, some go easy on me, although James and Ronnie are bringing some very special Ice Tea to ease any pain. Also, please take care of the manifestors and they will take care of you. Dorce and sevral of the packers from Deland are coming up, so that option is availiable. Anyone having any further questions can either IM me or give me a call at 352-870-4999.
  18. Do we need to retrain you before you jump? It has been a while!
  19. That about sums it up nicely! 500 years from now when they dig up the drop zone, they are also going to wonder why there are so many bottles of it in the rafters of the building.... blue skies, art
  20. Just remember about the "Blue Water", we have a new award to be given out this year. More than one person has missed a lot of jumping because of the "Blue Water".

    ne fl jumpers...

We are down in Gainesville, drop us a note, where and when.........we may be able to join you. We are pretty new to the base scene with just four jumps from the bridge, so we are newbies.
  22. You did say something to the tv crew, although it was a whisper, not sure if the mic picked it up...."I'm scared". That was the extent of your 15 minutes of fame
  23. Justi, I just couldn't leave you standing there at the rail watching everyone else jump! The funny thing is the TV reporter was down at the bottom looking for you later in the day. I better not have to drag you to the platform next year! Glad all went well, I hope you have started to remember your jump!
  24. Was that before or after you split your pants?
  25. Aren't you glad you didn't back out now Justi! Wasn't sure if we were ever going to get you to the platform, you did great though, you need to do it again next year so you remember more of it!
