Well it's been a fun filled day today at Flock and Dock 3.0 - i'll let the others post the video but on day one (whilst the 160 sequential is still going on) we still managed some cool jumps ... My jump log today Jump 1 - 16 Way Flock Jump 2 - 22 Way Flock Jump 3 - 34 Way Flock (2 planes) Jump 4 - 38 Way Flock (2 planes) Jump 5 - 20 Way Flock Jump 6 - a mere 8 way sunset load .... it's been a fantastic day ... no accidents or injuries - good safe flocking and a great time spent with friends - some new and some old ... please tell me that it 80' in the UK !!!!

More fun stuff from the hills - most of us have got 5 or 6 10 ways+ in today .... There's something like 18 birds here and we haven't started the event yet !!!

We had 14 wingsuiters flying today - and the event hasn't even started yet !!!! Get your asses down here ... It's going off !!!!

I'm leaving TOMORROW and should be with you on FRIDAY ... I can't wait - it's freezing here tonight and tomorrow i'll be relaxing in the 80f+ Florida temperatures

I don't know about the bonehead but i'm just mounting my HC5 onto a 2K composites helmet - i originally chose their 'Kryten' helmet but when i went to the shop we went for a new version of the 'side FX?' which had just been made - it's got a nice long flat top mount and will be perfect for mounting my HC5 - as for the flat-lock i'm still thinking about that one myself as i'm not sure if i really need it ... I did however go for the 2k composite quick -release system this time !!! As for the black box - depending on where you jump you could just mount the camera with a plate to support the lens attachment point and a cage to support the camera body. There was a nice example of that in the workshop last week ... You'd have to contact 2k for some photo's .... But it would save the cost of the black box ... Nb i have already had 2 helmets from 2k composites over the years plus a Cookie 'Monster' helmet but i have no experience of the Bonehead helmet and can't really comment on that one.... I have to say that over-all i have been happy with all of my camera helmets so far so i guess it's also a case of trying one for size and comfort as well as the practicalities of mounting the camera ... Just my 0.02c !!!

Actually i liked my Mirage 3 too ... But i eventually lost a Freebag and handles on a cut-away and found out how much those things cost !!! My first camera helmet was an FFX which i really liked - so much that i bought two and have just bought a modified side FX direct from 2K last week and i am hoping to set it all up ready for Flock and Dock 3

Not compared to the costs of some of the systems out there - also remember i come from the land of the $40 lift tickets and $300 annual BPA membership !!!! Anyway how can you mention costs when jumping a Mirage system Just joking !!!! I'm definately thinking about the HC5 - the price is attractive compared to the HC7 and by the time i need or want a new camera then something else will be along anyway .... As for the PAL / NTSC issues - i mainly jump in the US ... I can convert NTSC to PAL on my computer (if i remember correctly?) and all my footage will be from the same camera. The only issue is mixing video from several sources and having to get it converted first ... Thanks for all your help though

I'm heading over to Florida on Weds and would like to get a new camera set-up. I would like to keep the costs down and am thinking of buying a HC5 to be top mounted on a 2K composite helmet. My questions are these ... Is a HC7 worth the extra over the HC5? - Is the image quality that much better with the HC7? I am also looking to buy a 0.45 wide-angle lens like the liquid by cookie plus (if possible) a low profile mount for the camera - can anyone reccomend something suitable that i should be able to get my hands on... Where is the best place to buy in Florida? - I'm not sure if i can mail order the camera etc as i'm not sure that UPS will deliver to my RV!!! Thanks James

Hi I'm coming to Z-Hills during this period and understand that the trailers are full and the camping is likely to be maxed out due to the 200 way that's going on. I'm looking at the option of hiring an RV and driving it down to the DZ. Has anyone else done this before and do you have any good advice or things to watch out for. Which RV companies are reliable / reasonably priced ??? Are there any other sensible options (bearing in mind that i will probably want to have a drink after jumping all day so driving back to a hotel after a few beers is not an option ) Thanks James

When he wasn't busy barking & growling at newbies for being silly he was very busy helping them; sometimes the same newbies. He will be greatly missed. True ... Even the people he barked at will miss him ...

True ... Tom really had class ... He handed me a packet once when i was busy talking to someone and simply said "all my friends carry knives" ... I opened the packet about an hour later, once the guy who i was chatting with had left ... I still keep the pocket knife from that packet with me every day ...

Sounds like i left before it got even bigger - i'll have to plan things better next year ... Congrats to the three new BMI's - tell Jeff that it's about time Now he's all legal !!! Don't forget to hold my place for the Flock and Dock in March. Btw i can't wait to see the cover of the mag - congrats again to all ...

Thanks for that. I didn't think that there were flights to cochstedt direct. Lucky for me i can fly from Manchester with Air Berlin or Liverpool with Easyjet so it's definately looking possible
