  1. Having read the excellent reviews of last years AN 72 Boogie i wondered if some of the people who attended last year's event could shed some light on the details. What experience level do you need to attend the boogie (is there a min jump requirement)? Which is the closest or best airport to fly into? What were the approx costs for registration and jumps? How many jumps were made on average? How many days does the boogie last? What were the accomodation options - camping / bunk house etc? Thanks James
  2. Sorry Ed - i didn't realise - next time i'll try to upgrade to something more exciting ... Maybe a H1 or perhaps a tank ??? As for the " WTF has that got to do with the Mach 1" ... Well they're both cool (in my opinion)... Maybe next time Chuck will lend me a motorbike ...
  3. I know that feeling - i haven't flown the eagle yet - what were your impressions ???
  4. Hi there I didn't go straight to the raptor after the GTI - in fact i flew the Mach 1 first ....
  5. For joining the flock yesterday and for having his first ever cutaway on his second ever day flying a wingsuit !!!
  6. To everyone that i've had the pleasure of flying with over the last 10 days ... It has been really fun and i'm blown away by how friendly and patient everyone has been. If anyone is ever considering coming to visit either to learn or just to get some wingsuit action then this is a great place ... Chuck and Jeff are great instructors and all the other birds are really friendly ... Thanks Again !!!
  7. Well Ed I'm sure once you get those thermals on you'll find the Mach 1 a great suit ... My raptor is fantastic and i'm blown away with the difference between my GTI and my experiences with the Mach 1 and the raptor ...
  8. Well after 5 flights with my new raptor - all i can say is that the raptor feels great - i'm still getting used to flying the suit but she's fantastic and far better at flying than her pilot !!!
  9. L&B are one of a handful of companies that really set the standard for customer service. Their products are never the cheapest, but their customer service is legendary ... Unfortunately this is not the case for all companies ...
  10. Yep - i'd be interested to see the performance from all the really experienced guys ... For me, the suit flies like a wet dream .... Fast, Furious and leaves me grinning all day ...
  11. Hi Ed As i understand it ... The Mach 1 has a slightly bigger wing. The lower edge on the Mach 1 is down to my knees. The raptor is a very similar design but the wing is about 2 - 3 inches shorter (if that makes sense). It finishes about 2 -3 inches above my knees. I'm not 100% sure without comparing both side by side but i think that the leg wing is similar on both suits. The raptor is still a high performance suit, but (according to Jeff and Tony) it should be slightly more forgiving than the rocket which is disguised as the Mach 1.
  12. Thanks P-Dro .... I'm glad you think i'm ugly ... Cos i don't do boys ... I prefer women
  13. I've just been over to get the suit ... I'll post pictures as soon as i can ... But if she flies like she looks ... Then I'm in LOVE !!!!
  14. ****** NEWS UPDATE ****** I've just been over and my suit will be finished TODAY..... That's under 36 hours from order to completion !!! WAY TO GO !!!!! For Ed's benefit i'll post pictures of the suit PLUS my new HUMMER as soon as get the suit !!!! I have to say 36 hours seems like AMAZING SERVICE ....
  15. True ... But you should see the Hummer that i've hired - it's the shit !!! And with gas at $2.30 a gallon i can even afford to pollute the planet !!! Then maybe we can have some of that good weather in the UK ...
  16. Disclaimer .... I am not an authority on anything .... I am not very experienced and i know shit about wingsuiting ... End of disclaimer ... But here's my initial impressions after 3 jumps ... I like it a lot .... I'm not technical and i will let the experienced guys go through all the techie bits - plus this is the first big wingsuit that i've flown ... But it was like being strapped to the back of a missile and fired .... I haven't smiled so much in a long time ... The GTI is fun but it's like driving a Sinclair C5 compared to the Mach 1 ... And no i haven't finished my trip ...
  17. All i can say is OMFG ..... What a suit ....
  18. Does this mean that you will have the helicopter at the DZ for the next couple of weeks? If so, I might swing by ....

    Insurance

I agree ... And my Amex travel insurance includes up to 150k for search and rescue as well as the usual benefits .... Again worth it in view of the costs of air ambulance ;-)

    Insurance

I think its about $175 for a years cover - no restrictions on the sports front. Several people in the uk and europe use it for that reason. The only thing to be aware of are the maximum payouts are restricted, but it's definately better to have some cover than none !!!
