I think it was Jumpdude that posted some of their websites for stuff like Shark Diving and Cruise Ships, and I believe that if I interpreted those posts correctly and what he was saying in them, is, there's a lot more to 1 800 Skyride than just skydiving, and unless everyone started fighting them on the grand scheme of all those venues combined, the idea that we are not accomplishing anything would possibly be a true statement. If you guys truly want to do something about Skyride, you're going to have to combine your efforts with some heavy hitters from those other venues. Call Princess or Celebrity and see if you can get them onboard (No pun intended). Think about this, How big is the Skydiving community compared to the people who take cruises or do the racing schools. Jumpdude said that he thinks that the Skydiving venue is a small part of the whole 1 800 Skyride realm, and I think I will have to agree with that. The only reason that Skydiving appears to be what 1 800 Skyride is, is because we are Skydivers and they are imposing in to our world. I too, think we need to take the blinders off and look at just how big 1 800 Skyride is. I think that a lot of you would be astounded when you realize that. That user that you guys are replying to is undoubtedly one of their damage control experts. If history is repeating it's self, I will bet it's Chuck Owen or Jeff Fincher or one of those other guys. Extra fees are consistent with the 1 800 Skyride pricing system. Did they charge you extra for the "Big Airplane" and/or the "Bad Weather Insurance" or other fees? Those fees are total BS! The only "Extra fee" that I know of would be the video package, and those are completely optional and no one should ever make you feel obligated to that. But, you do only get one first jump, so I do recommend that first timers get the video. And as proven in the 1 800 Skyride II thread, ASC and 1 800 Skyride are the same and the money goes in to the same pocket. **Footnote** This is not the Skyride thread, and Anything past my statement in this post concerning the Skyride/ASC issue needs to be discussed in the appropriate thread so this one doesn't get locked like the others. If I understand this correctly, Suzie Paiser got appointed as S&TA for the AST backup plan, (Waverly). The question that I have is this, is this the same "Suzie" that recently married Mike Paiser? If she is, it appears that they will burn Waverly just as they have at the other three airports. If information serves me correctly, Mike Paiser is the S&TA that allowed the night tandems with wuffos, the jumps where up-jumpers and/or camera guys would hang from the tandems, allow alcohol consumption before the beer lite and against airport policy, allowing jumping on cloudy days, (ie; videos I posted recently) and amongst other issues, can't seem to be able to throw the drogue while face to earth, instead, uses it to get stable to make up for his deficiencies as a TI? All of these issues lead to their demise in Clarksville. They want to blame others, but they did it to themselves. If this is the case, they won't last long at Waverly either. I may not be an aircraft expert, but I am pretty sure the plane in this video that apparantly being used in Waverly is a C-206, not a King Air. I think the point that he was making is that the 1 800 Skyride scam goes way further than skydiving. I personally believe if anyone truly wants to see them shut down, it will take a combined effort on behalf of the Skydiving venue, Balloons, Gliders, Racing and all of the other venues that they steal from. Plus, if you're wanting someone to present those sites to the AG, don't you think that it would get his (or her) attention a lot quicker if you included those kind of sites for the other venues? Has anyone noticed an increased presence of advertisements for the 1 800 Skyride DZ at Clarksville since the information was released about the City of Clarksville shutting them down. One ad that can be easily seen is at the top of the page here in the forums. If you don't see it now, just hit refresh and watch the ad, it will rotate up and show after a few clicks on the refresh. Hmmmm...Business issue or TI issue? This particular vid, it's obvious. Believe it or not, there are TIs who would not do that. Granted, very few, but there are some. Regardless...the second video was filmed at the farm...I know your all about saftey so why dont you bitch about the instructor or the DZ that employed that TI? Your such a whiny little bitch popsjumper If you are referring to "The second video" as the second of the two that I posted earlier, it is clearly labeled at the beginning of the video that it was done at "Adventure Skydiving Tennessee" and the Title above the video clearly states "Sky Diving in Clarksville". If I remember correctly from the one time I stopped by there for fuel in the Mooney, that really looks like the Clarksville Outlaw Field FBO and the area outside the FBO. So, the question that I have is this, If you are referring the the video I posted, how could you possibly say that it was done at the Farm? Also, By posting those videos, I was pointing out that it appears to be quite routine that the TI's at AST jumps through clouds. I am not a specialist in the FAR's, but I am pretty sure that the Pilot of the aircraft is ultimately responsible for observing cloud clearances and whether or not to fly in those conditions. Perhaps this is from the management not caring about FAR Flight visibility and cloud clearance requirements, or could it be greed that would drive a TI to do those kind of jumps or the Pilot to allow jumpers to exit in those conditions. I would speculate that the Dad that was referenced in the post that I replied to, was seeing other people jumping and did not know that overbooking was the normal ASC (AST) routine and did not know about the FAR requirements. Damn dude, who was spotting that load? That sounds a lot like something that happened to me over at greensburg one time. The main difference was that I notice a smoke stack near the airport and figured out that we were on the wrong side of the airport to be up wind, then I waved us off and pointed down at about 5,500, got it out and the whole load made it back.
