Hi Les Next yr will be our 40th anniv of our first jump (on a double L). The canopy had a few more color's than the pic shows and we jumped from a C-195 (no door) We thought making a jump on our 40th Anniv would be a nice milestone In case anyone is wondering no way is this fat old fart going to try and land any kind of a round under any weather conditions unless the earth is covered in pea gravel. R.I.P.

If you can find one the old army freefall helmets worked for me. Their covered in leather have lots of padding and ribs made of a hard material. They also come with clips for o2 masks, intercom earpieces, pull the dot adjustable chinstrap. Their hard to find and their nickname is "bunny helmet". Only down side is they don't provide full face protection unless your wearing the o2 mask and goggles.

In rersponse to your post/bet I'm not a smoker, never have been and have never seen someone pack another persons rig while smoking. I think I have seen some peeps pack their own gear while smoking, but I'm not the DZ packing nazi.

You know what, I think the majority of skydivers should just drop the Skyride issue altogether. Yes, they annoy me with their false websites, weather insurance and deceptive business practices. The buyer must beware. Who in their right mind wouldn’t do research among the various dropzones and service providers via the internet & BBB.com when pursuing something as unusual as skydiving. If you don’t shop around, you’re going to pay more. This is true in any industry. I personally don’t feel an obligation to save these dupes from themselves due to their own laziness as consumers to research the facts about a vendor before handing over a credit card number. If a vendor refused to tell me the location of their dropzone, I wouldn’t give them my credit card number. I’d hang up. Hi If you know the packer is smoking while working so does everyone else at the DZ. If there's a accident to the DZ/jumpers gear due to the cigs there will just be some holes in the nylon due to melting. Cold Ash's won't have any affect on the canopy IMO Don't whine about the human chimney packing other peoples/DZ gear, it's still safe enough for you to jump. Stay upwind of the human chimney so your temple doesn't get polluted from the second hand smoke, and when you get your own gear don't let him pack it. Problem solved, Enjoy yourself, don't worry be happy.

There's also a rumor that the shuttle is going to cost $1 ea trip I don't think I noticed that part of the rumor, but I did hear we'll have to land off the south end of the runway. The normal LP landing area isn't big enough to handle the boogie crowd (that's where we all pack), and I've heard there are some property access problems with the area we usually land in during the boogie. If I understood correctly, it's only a half mile or so that we'll be riding, so no big deal. Blues, Dave There could be safety reasons (traffic landing patterns) for relocating the landing area from the area used in the past. We (me myself & I) would rather take the shuttle than see one person get hurt due to unavoidable traffic issues. No sweat.

Hi A Did I hear you say packing the mains under supervision if required & riggers for the belly warts. Damn I think I hear the list peeps wanting to jump the rounds getting shorter.

We did the parasail thing once in water survival school, and got paid We were launching off a little flatop boat facing into the wind with a power boat pulling on the parasail. The instructor tells us when you get the signal start running and don't stop running until you get airborn
