  1. Care to publish the source where you found this info??
  2. """I mean why did they tell us these lies about"padded bulky jacket" "jumping the turnstile " etc.?""" You were there, I take it...
  3. Maybe the thought of using an electricity based weapon on someone possibly wearing explosive that use electricity to detonate was a contributing factor the first time..... just a thought. Maybe they felt the second guy wasn't wearing any. No scenario ever plays out the same.
  4. If the stripper bar waitress can jump first, I can jump second.... Her boyfriend was gonna jump third, but never did
  5. Ok, its all so clear...... its a Stealth Fighter.
  6. Choice is good, but I too am starting to get puzzled at where all these suits fit in. Is the PHI a more advanced acro suit compared to the Firebird?? Is the Firebird a catch all suit, designed to do all areas well enough to satisfy the owner, but not well enough to specialize in one area?? Is the Firebird an advancement over the GTi?? A step forward?? Will the GTi soon go the way of the original classic and S1?? (edit for splelnig)
  7. "Come on, like anyone has never drunk when under 21, or burn anything, or run away when in trouble... The only thing we can blame the kid is doing it all in one night. but it is not without merit." Don't forget looting and torching..... everyone does that
  8. "The sea was rough," he recalled. "We were more afraid of drowning than the Germans." It can't go any faster captain, we'll either break apart or crash into the beach. Oh I'm cold.......
  9. Hmm, missed the fact he was 18. Depending on where you live, say north of the USA, he would be considered an adult. Adult = Should be old enough to be responsible for his/her own actions. So much for "misguided youth".
  10. "underage drinking, littering, evading arrest, burning personal property and theft" Lets see, drunk, throwing garbage around, running from cops, torching someones stuff, then stealing someones stuff" Yup, I'm with Masterrig, he's a little shit. Now for the bleading hearts, if you were never called a shit by your parents, maybe you weren't doing what this kid was....
  11. I used stain away, but that was with an original classic which seems to be a little different material (read totally different) for the body of the suit. Was careful to only apply it to the stained portion and remove the excess to protect the wing fabric. Then on light cycle with cold water, hang dry. No more stain. Jay
  12. A mushroom cloud in freefall could make for an interesting visual.......
  13. Man I try and make a joke and I get an education... Is he marketing this thing now?? Had only ever seen one of these, but never two in a pic.
  14. This wingsuit innovation is so important it needed its own thread... Any thoughts. Time for another beer.
  15. Hoping to be there. Will be flying my Classic, seeing as my PHI is MIA.
  16. A little slow on that one, figure out who Patrick is. I know there are more of us than this......
  17. I have this happen to me on every jump. Original Classic suit that is a bit tight on me. I've figured it to the deployment cause the rear cables to unthread from the top two to three loops. Its part of my packing now. Get out of suit, re-thread cables, pack chute. This happens only on the rear cables for me, never the front ones. Jay
  18. Not intended as an insult, but who is this Patrick Lachance fellow?? I was thinking of even a demo or something. Foot in the door. There has to be more red and blue brothers and sisters on here. Jay
  19. I'm convinced... how bout generalizing the wingsuit checkbox
  20. Here is the site. http://www.2005wpfg.com/eng/WPFG/history.asp[url]
  21. The 2005 games are wrapping up in Quebec. I started looking at there roster of events about a year ago and saw that parachuting was listed. When I emailed them, they said that this was a mistake and the roster had been corrected. The 2007 games are in Adelaide, Australia and the 2009 games are in Vancouber, Canada. My question... how many leos and fire people on DZ.com would be interested in having some sort of event at the next games, or how many already attend in different sports?? I don't mind a little ribbing, but please some serious banter on the subject. Jay
  22. From what it sounds like, you are doing as much to "prepare" for jumping a wing suit as anyone can (ie. track dives and such like you mentioned). Thats good. Don't take the "wait till 200 jumps" as negative or as preaching. Thats one of the things you need to do to prepare. 200 current jumps is more than just a number, it to is preparation. Blue skies, Jay
  23. "I do 30 jumps a month." Best advice, wait three months and find an instructor in the meantime that will be available in three months. Good on you for setting the goal early, tough part is just following through the rest of the way. The sky will always be there later, don't rush. Jay edit : Given it takes a month to do 30, it'll only hang for 3-4 months, and no where near a year. Might feel like a year though
