  2. B9, Awesome! Dropping knees is pretty coming on older folks, harder to arch then it use to. I took up a gentlemen last weekend that had a 20 yr break, left the sport with 160 jumps. Same issue with the knees, but everything else was perfect. I could pick him out from the other student cause he was spiraling down, having a good old time!   4. Thought I would thumb through the Sigma Manual again, interesting...a must or recommended...thanks for the clarification. A. Student accessories:retrieve and display the following items prior to gearing up: altimeter(optional),jumpsuit, soft helmet, and goggles are a must. Select a tight suit. This will reduce extra drag from your student,aiding stability after exit. A soft helmet is recommended as it is less of a risk if the Tandem Instructor were to strike the student’s head during the jump.   5. The King Air I jump from has lights, a guess some might not. If the issue is really that you can't hear the pilot if he wants you to abort, then everyone would be up in arms about experienced jumpers jumping with helmets on and not being able to hear the pilot.   6. +1 I have no problem in larger aircraft, they will also turn the red light on. Smaller aircraft the pilot just taps me on my shoulder. After takeoff, above seatbelts off altitude I take it off and put it on just prior to the door being opened. Plenty of time to talk.   10. I would get it checked out by a rigger you trust to be safe. I had a canopy that smelled like cig smoke and hung it outside, out of the sun and heat, under our back patio with a fan on in for a couple of days and that got most of the smell out.   14. I did not like the Pulse at a 1.3, I'm used to a Spectres flare, and I got nothing on the bottom end. put about 20 jumps on it and decided to go back to a 7 cell. Thats just my opinion.   15. I emailed UPT and they said in a nutshell that you can only use components recommended by the manufacture of the system. A master rigger can build a drogue and install it, but that would break the UPT user agreement and would release UPT of any liability. If there is a fatality and it is contributed to the drogue in any way, all of the responsibility will be on the rigger who installs the drogue since it is his responsibility to insure compatibility. See attached document for canopy and component compatibility dated 2009.   17. There is a LOT more to think about than just "freefall with stability". 9 years is a pretty big break for anyone, even with 2300 jumps. If someone came to me saying that they had 2300 jumps, an A license, and they haven't jumped in 9 years, re-training would go as fast/slow as it takes for them to show me (themselves) what they remember and the jump(s) to prove it.   20. So make sure you get signature delivery! If a person wants to be dishonest, it's very easy to have paypal rule in their favor. That being said, I've used paypal for years and have had little trouble with them. Do your own vetting, talk to them on the phone, get a good feeling for them ect. The other option would be to use a rigger as escrow, normally for canopies. Once the rigger has the item and says it's good to go, buyer pays you, and you tell the rigger to release the canopy to the buyer.
