  1. From another thread: and another one: You sir are full of arrogance. I will agree with writhskyguy and wish you good luck.
  2. You laugh now, but Squirrel is a brand new company taking dropzones by storm. Just wait 2-3 more years - you will hardly see any PF products on the US dropzones if the pattern continues....
  3. Agreed, but from this thread alone, there are people who ordered both and will keep the one they prefer the most. Those will be the ones I will rely on more than any sponsored jumpers. edit: ideally I'd like to demo both ... but that's a pretty low possibility especially that Squirrel doesn't have a demo fleet (yet). Maybe I will make a trip to Boston and have Skwrl let me jump both
  4. Really looking forward to some reviews of people getting both suits! I've been considering getting a new one. Havok has great reviews and is cheaper when ordered from EU without VAT but has much longer wait times and could be a pain in the but with having the suit shipped back if alterations/repairs are needed. Funk is way too new to judge, is pricier but support is outstanding. Definitely looking forward to see which is preferred (since best is very subjective) by non-sponsored flyers. Sqwrl - looking at you buddy
  5. I don't care about disclaimers so here it comes: Seriously dude? He specifically came here with questions and states he doesn't want a brand war yet in every post you make defensive reference to his bashing. Maybe save it for another thread? Overall, you always push PF, mostly in defensive tones but it's understandable you are sponsored/paid/work for PF. Everyone who doesn't agree with PF is obviously a hater in your mind. Maybe lay off the PF jizz, and go back to civilized replies without tongues in cheek and defensive tones? Now to the topic, V is a fun suit to fly and I actually like the 'hole'. Sure doesn't have as much power with it as it would without it but man it's a fun suit to fly. Thanks ya'll for the insights into the design. Any idea why Robi decided not to pursue the same design in the arm wings? Sometime around 2010-2011 I asked him about next generation of Vampires and he mentioned something revolutionary like this... with smaller surface areas...
  6. It's because he is half-trolling
  7. That is very rad, bro. Can you hook it up to a Vector3 an let me know if it's good then and post pictures? I'm not being cheeky, I want to make sure vector's laterals don't make it more prone to swollen handles before I buy another suit.
  8. That's interesting, totally see what you mean. I did sell the suit (also because I got fat) so can't try that but will keep it in mind :D
  9. Good review, Jeff! I'd be interested to know the rig you currently jump. I briefly had a Colugo that was built for someone similar to my size but I experienced the same "handle eating" characteristic that made me bit scared to jump the suit (also given my recent currency)... so I sold it (I also got bit fat and it was bit tight in some areas). So I'm really hoping it was just a misfitting suit because of my added wingloading lately...but now your review sort of makes me reconsider if I want to buy another suit. I do plan on BASE but I would make plenty of skydives as well and as much as I really like the innie-outie system, the possibility of losing a handle makes me tad scared. I have a Vector3 ...
  10. I guess it depends on many factors, right? I've had my liquidsky suit for 5 years now, about 400 jumps and maybe 25hrs of tunnel time and still going strong. I have a few tunnel burns on my arms but that's about it. I had freak'n'fly suit but never took it to the tunnel and it got stolen on the dz so only had btw 100-200 jumps on that and it was like new
  11. I've seen (as in I was there) no seat belts on take off, loose camera helmets on the floor with him sitting close and knowing, his buddies doing head down tandems, swooping spectator areas. Other nuances like taking off with door half opened ... These are the reasons I won't frequent any dropzones he runs or works as s&ta. Hi behavior is parallel with that in his prior job that followed by conviction (but the conviction part obviously won't happen here) For those interested it's not that hard to google Richard Winstock.
  12. I've never been on a cruise before and my gf and I were talking about going in general. If we could fly for 10mins every day we would be set to go for a 7-8 day cruise :D Really curious how the booking works and how much time one would be actually able to fly...
  13. Sir, You are a gentleman and a scholar!
  14. What Matt said! I've had a long winter off, got a Colugo... I don't plan on jumping it after months of no air time (excluding tunnel) Same with my canopies, I have a Katana but I don't plan on jumping it immediately at the start of the season for the same reason. I got smaller suits and bigger canopies, and I'll use those to transition back to being current. (and I know it's off topic )
  15. That's what I hoped I would hear. Thank you! Looks like v348 will be a good fit!
  16. I like to open the flap and stow my lines on the ground vs shoving my hands down a tight pouch. UPT makes for easier/faster packing for me... but maybe I'm lazy
  17. from my 1st post "I actually have the Infinity party bag but do not like it, hence the idea to fit a UPT bag in. "
  18. Yeah, I hear you about measuring! I actually have a spare 310 bag so asked for their official measurements - matched my measurements to their, then applied the same (i hope) technique to measure the Infinity bag... It's not ideal, seems like infinity is a shallower bag but width and length seem comparable so I will have to see ... Any rigger can chime in here - i flipped the bag inside out to measure, and measured along the seams. Is this the way to do it? edit: on an interesting note, I measured Infinity's party-bag I want to swap with the UPT bag and comparing the the regular one it has a noticeably different shape. It's shorter and bulkier. I found it interesting. Though if I remember correctly, my UPT semi-stowless bag for my other rig came tighter than the regular one also...
  19. hmm, the person I talked to at UPT never suggested sending the Infinity bag over and I never thought of that! I took measurements and ordered a V348 that seems to have decent fit (on paper at least). I was told that if it doesn't fit great I can ship it back and they will refund the money. Did UPT built you a custom bag or does it have a container number inside?
  20. I have a UPT semi-bag already (2 actually) for smaller containers/canopies (I own a Vector too).. it's for the second rig. I'm specifically interested in the Infinity - UPT combo (ideally I-44 but any experience is good)
