  1. it's a silly hypothetical question since it would never happen, the answers do not really matter
  2. http://www.landoverbaptist.org/sermons/halloweenmessage.html if you have never seen their site, it is pretty funny - the archives are a riot, much better than their later material
  3. YES - I am sick of this debate. RSL's save lives. Probably only a handful of people on DZ.com started skydiving before the RSL was invented and we watched our friends go in time and time again. We put them there for a reason. If you are concerned about an unstable reserve deployment, then why have a Cypres? The Cypres is there in case you are unconcious in freefall and if you are unconcious, then i doubt you would be stable. But you have one anyway. The very instant that you chop from a spinning anything, your body will fly in a straight line due to centrifugal force. period. You are no longer spinning. Any wiggling or flailing that you do beyond that is your own creation. So don't wiggle and flail, pull your handles like you are supposed to. Back to earth or face to earth, your reserve pilot chute still launches and will likely clear anything and everything. Sure people have had RSL related fatalities. People have also died as the result of wearing a seatbelt in a car. HOWEVER, wearing the seatbelt is still the better option. Exceptions for RSL's include video, CReW, and a few other specialty jumps. But not for normal freefall skydiving. Connect your RSL and use it. Buy a Cypres as well. TK
  4. It was good fun, she was a great candidate for the jump, we had some special gear for her legs and Eric Hildebrand took her up with Tony Hathaway shooting the video. Lots of tears after the jump, her brother was pretty stoked that we could do it and it all went perfectly. thanks to them for coming out, and happy 65th TK
  5. hundreds of thousands of people saw the Virgin Mary in the side of fricking building here in Florida, still a daily place of refuge for hundreds of people people see what they want to see and I think there is a plausible explanation for pretty much everything
  6. Geez, Kerry would not have based that on 'american intelligence' fed from the reigning government would he? Or does the Senator have free access to all the CIA files to base his decision?
  7. Don't forget Colin Pwell's address to the UN, all now completely false about the weapons they found. Originally convinced even me that it might be OK to go it there. At least I can admit that I was wrong. I did really hope for the sake of the USA that they found something, but I was not really surprised when they did not. So the UN sanctions and inspections and the US threats actually DID work to disarm Saddam Hussein and he was NOT actually lying when he said he had none. Not that he is such a great guy or anything, just that we were WRONG. TK
  8. Hindsight? Hindsight? hindsight should be an 'oversight' that costs the country a few billion dollars maybe in the worst case, this is WAR, DEATH of 15000 people, the destruction of a country.....etc we are going to appease ourselves by calling it 'hindsight'? American needs to be ashamed. If terrorist attacks against the USA increase steadily for the next century, at least we will know why that is. Can the terrorists now call the World Trade Center Attack as "the ends justifies the means"? Or even 'hindsight' in their favor? ridiculous. TK

    Dog Wisdom

May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.... TK
  10. I think it is a great victory against the 'right wing' censors that think everything must be so pure, when in fact most people are not so pure. At least Stern says what he means and means what he says and the great thing is, if you do not want to listen to it you do not have to. I am all for titties and SHIT on TV, turn it off if you do not like it, but do not limit my ability to see or hear it. TK
  11. So first he says there was no solid evidence to say there was a link between Hussein and Al-Qaeda. Then he says that Al-Qaeda members were in Iraq, perhaps even in Baghdad (geez what a surprise?) So that is justification in going to war? Al-Qaeda members were also in NY, and London, and the Phillipines and probably in most countries of the world. what an idiot. back to important news..... http://www.iraqbodycount.net/ and http://icasualties.org/oif/ TK
  12. Z-Hills is finally seeing some good weather and a great weekend coming up - got lots of stuff going on this weekend THANK GOD! four weekends with hurricanes forecasts is plenty.... see ya TK
  13. they are not 'terrorists' they are 'insurgents'. yes what they do is wrong - questions is, would they do they if we were not there in the first place? TK
  14. Spagetti with Italian Sausage, black Olives, red onions, and 3 chesses, (and a martini (or maybe 2))
  15. Strong fixed most of those problems 5-7 years ago.
  16. Strong gear is in use all over the country and the world - does not look great, but works well and comes from a company that cares about their gear, their customers, delivers great service and is willing to work with anyone in improving the design of the system. Unlike some other manufacturers that I have had dealings with. Their gear is 'perfect' already, they deliver poor service, they 'eat thjeir young' when it comes to incidents involving tandems, and I will never do business with them again. TK
  17. Carrie has been collecting prizes for all the stupid skydives this weekend, should be a good time - and Boxman will likely be here to organize as well. see you there TK
  18. Your season ending is our season beginning. book a vacation in Florida and come visit to finish it up
  19. Let me see - I write something and you steal it and use it without my permission. I find a way to try and stop that and then I am somehow labeled the bad guy? Everyone hates Microsoft I think just because they are big. Yet i have not seen a valid replacement arrive on the market yet, so i use their products. Steal what i can, then pay for what I have to. Sounds like the cost of doing business. I do not blame them in any way for trying to stop it. TK
  20. Since we have been blown away by hurricanes - we are relocarting our Labor Day weekend Boogie to September 25-26, lots of cool things to do and fun load organized events, dinner, coaching, and of course, a good time, See you then TK
  21. green vegetables, choy Sum, Bok Choy, Spinach, even cabbage chopped up. Sliced Chicken, handful of shrimp, some hat sauce
  22. Well it seems that we DID spend some time looking, so it would be reasonable for me to expect you to do the same before posting something. TK
  23. I worked for IBM for 15 years, and repaired Selectric typewriters as part of that. I was not around back in the 70's doing that, but there were HUNDREDS of different models of the Selectric with different typefaces and special features, all customized to the uses that they were intended. The Canadian Military and Government had their own versions of the customized machines, that did cool things for them, and I am sure the US government and military had many similar requests and many special built machines and versions of the IBM machine and composers, all based on the similar Selectric mechanism. I do not remember seeing superscript on any of them, but that was a long time ago. I do remember features on the Canadian machines that allowed them to do many extraordinary things and I do remember that every department of the government accounts had customized models for various functions. IBM at that time was an industry giant and very much catered to those needs.
  24. Where did THAT come from? $77 billion in Serbia? try http://www.state.gov/p/eur/rls/rm/30561.htm and http://sarbanes.senate.gov/pages/press/022603_cost_of_iraq_war_for_rel.html and http://www.airpower.maxwell.af.mil/airchronicles/apj/apj00/win00/hammond.htm and http://www.bernie.house.gov/documents/releases/20040524180159.asp for some comparisons (all links from the US gov't website. Serbia was a NATO and UN operation, not a US one, and cost the country perhaps $15 billion. MANY other countries are sharing in the cost of peacekeeping and rebuilding. Iraq is $128 billion and approaching $200 billion by the end of 2005. Our deficit is real and we/you/I will pay dearly for it. If you are so for it, then perhaps you would not mind paying my share as well. I do not remember ANYONE saying that the Chinese embassy bombing was good or that Bush bombing terrorist camps was bad, but we KNEW there were WMD's - NOT! No, the mass graves were found in Bosnia and Kosovo (and lots in Serbia as well, do a little searching.) TK
