  1. thanks for your good advice. sometimes, with all the information available/needed to know abotu skydiving, it gets a bit overwhelming. but i'm trying to learn as much as possible. our dz has had a jumpmaster have a pretty rough landing (broken femurs) recently. i think that's where all this worrying came from. But i do realize that there's nothing i can do, so i'm just going to learn to trust him. and figure out just what it is that that skybum is doing:):) When the people look like ants -- Pull. 2. he's not doing stupid new things...just landings that might be a bit more complicated than others can do at his level. maybe you're right...but i'm always going to worry a lil bit about anyone that's in the sky until they're safely back on the ground. doesn't mean i don't love the sport or the thrill of it all; i'm just aware of the possible outcomes. 3. lol, i'm just learning how to pack...so far, they've been opening. ;) it'll be a while b4 that could earn me significant income, though. thanks for the fairy-tale ideas...i wish that's how it could be....... maybe i'll study abroad in like Australia or someplace warm, so i can continue my skydiving and school at the same time! 4. wish i did! lol, i have a big brother that's 23...i don't think he has very good resale value, come to think of it. my friends keep telling me to sell my horses, but i can't do that, just yet...i already sold one to go to college, and that just about broke my heart. i'm just going to work as hard and as much as possible to finish the course in the spring. being a full time college student and falling in love with skydiving sometimes just doesn't mix. *cries* When the people look like ants -- Pull. 5. *shakes head and laughs* m'dear, if i don't have money to finish my course here in MI, that means i also don't have $ to vacation in FL. Hell of an idea, though. :) my buddy moved to FL for the skydiving...he wants me to visit...so maybe a trip there is in my future. when i have more $, that is. When the people look like ants -- Pull. 6. thanks, i'll look into that. lol, my parents hate the idea that i'm skydiving, so i don't htink i'm going to get much help from them! they're not helping me pay for college, either, so i'll ge the whole spiel about spending my money wisely. but then again...they've never skydived before...they jsut wouldn't understand... :) When the people look like ants -- Pull. 7. I"M NOT SELLING MY HORSE!!! although if my dad moves, i might not have a choice... When the people look like ants -- Pull. When the ants look like people -- Pray.
  8. ok, i have a quiry (besides not really knowing how to spell that!) i'm in the middle of my student training but i'm running into financial troubles. (aren't we all?) i have 1 more static line, 4 IAf's, a high and a low solo to go. i'm pretty sure that i'm not going to be able to finish the course this season, and i wanted to know where a good place to stop would be. some ppl say to stop now, so i have a static line for next season to start me out. some say to do at least 1 IAF, so i get that experience under my belt. i'm not going to be able to do much more than that due to the lack of funds. btw, i'm also doing a refresher ground course to make sure i remember everything, to start out next season. any suggestions? 9. i have a very close friend who is advancing rather quickly in the sport . he's exceptionally good, but still a novice with just over 50 jumps. he is taking things at a reasonable pace, but i still get really scared whenever he tries something new because he means a lot to me. the dzo and jumpmasters at our dropzone work closely with him, so i really have no reason to be nervous. also, the more i learn about what he's doing, the less scared i get, but I can't help it, though! do you guys have any suggestions on how i can deal with this anxiety? 10. Hey guys, I'm currently at college and have sent in my application to the USPA for my A license a couple weeks ago. however, the address if my home address, does anyone know if there's a way to find out my # online? I know I can do it by phone, but is there a way to do it online at uspa.org? When the people look like ants -- Pull. When the ants look like people -- Pray.
  11. i am so excited! i learned how to pack! how long did it take you riggers out there to get good at packing? When the people look like ants -- Pull. When the ants look like people -- Pray.
  12. "- ask your instructor at which altitude you should start flare, than climb on something with the same height and ... no not jump =))) - remember how earth looks like so you will be more confident act on your first landing." that's a good idea. thanks!
