  1. I sure hope so. If they are not then us men will have to do the thinking and then the whole world will be in deep shit. Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  2. CELLPHONES!!!! in restaurents, movie theatres, libraries, and lecture halls. Obnoxious cellphone users ( particularly the ones that have annoying chimy ring tunes) should be summarily executed on the spot My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  3. If I was serving in the military I would go when I was told. As a civilian I would only voluntarily go if I felt my nation was itself threatened. Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  4. It is such a pleasure to see justice actually being served. They should give the killer early parole for having done a community service. My only regret is that strangulation sounds a little too easy. It would have been nice if the killer had had the opportunity to take his time and make that subhuman filth scream in agony. Oh well, score one for the goodguys. Hope that preist gets special attention in hell. 5. I have a solution. Simply create a bomb registry ( like the gun registry here in Canada). Forcing terrorist to register their bombs with the federal government is guaranteed to stop terrorists. Such registries only cost about 2 billion. Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  6. Hi UntamedDOG Regarding your comment; "If you had your gun exposed in a visible holster, those guys would have seen it. This alone is a deterrent to harassment". I am not sure I agree with this observation. Yes in a lot of cases a gun carried openly will deter an attack; however if the assailant is determined to cause harm, seeing her gun would merely allow the attacker to be more prepared and perhaps use a surprise attack rather than the corner and intimidate approach that he used. On that note I have heard some martial artists say that they would not want a potential attacker to be aware of their abilities, as this would merely ensure that he showed up more prepared, perhaps with a weapon or more backup. They would prefer for him to attack unprepared and find their abilities to be an unexpected and unpleasant surprise, thus giving them a better chance of escaping unharmed (If there are any martial artists on this sight could you please confirm/deny this rational as I myself do not practice any martial arts and am only using second hand info). I personally would be afraid that by advertising my ability to defend myself with a gun, while I might deter the less motivated I might also be warning my potential opponent to have a plan to disarm me by surprise. I would be more confident knowing that he is not prepared for the firearm that I would pull, and that I would be more likely to gain the upper hand and escape. Another benefit of concealed firearms over exposed firearms is the fact that there are positive externalities to concealed firearms. Some studies have shown that states with non-concealed carry laws have not seen the significant drop in crime that states with concealed carry laws have seen. This is likely due to the fact that criminals in states with open carry laws simply chose victims who do not have firearms and ignore the ones who openly bear arms (which does support your argument of deterrence). In states with concealed carry laws the criminals only know that x percent of their potential victims are armed but they don’t know which ones. Therefore criminals realize that every time they approach a potential victim they are running the risk that they will at best face a citizens arrest and at worst death by lead poisoning. This uncertainty encourages more of them to take up less risky forms of crime such as shoplifting, which does not pit them against their fellow human in most cases. As a result even people who do not carry guns benefit from the fact that some people do. I cannot remember the names of the studies, but I believe that at least one or two were conducted by John Lott (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). 8. I knew this couple, where the guy was a scrawny rake and the girl was about 400 pounds. Anyway he got her pregnant but due to her size I was not aware. One day I saw them ( I had just seen them the prior week) and she had a newborn in her hands. I was caught off guard by this and immediately blurted out "I didn't know you were pregnant" which implicitly stated that she was so huge you couldn't notice the additional bulge. As soon as I said It I realized how that sounded but it was too late. Rather awkward moment. Richards. 10. I agree with you, however here in Canuckistan it is considered a serious offence for a citizen to defend himself. Apparently these brutal remorseless predatory thugs have a right to prey on the innocent without risking harm to themselves. Regarding Flygurls incident in the "Why I love my concealed carry permit" post here is how things would have turned out had it happened up here. If she were unarmed and he had raped and brutalized her, the courts would have been extremely lenient on him as criminals here are treated as though they are the victims of society ( particularly if they are members of special interest groups). On the other hand if she had shown her gun the way she did she would face jail time just for carrying it. If he had attacked and forced her to fire in self defence, she would be fucked royaly by our courts as all good Canadians are expected to die helplessly while screaming pitifully into their cellphones at a 911 operator. Furthermore if the guy she shot was a minority she would also be charged with a hate crime. Everytime I think things can't possibly get worse here our government proves me wrong by enacting some other stupid law that makes life even more pleasurable for the bad guys. I personally know two people who have criminal records for merely defending themselves with thier bare hands. I hang my head and shudder to think of the future. Richards. 11. IT IS TEN MINUTES AWAY!!!!!!! GRAB THE NEAREST PERSON TO YOU AND HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX IMMEDIATELY AS YOU WILL NOT BE ALIVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES ( YOU HAVE MY WORD ON THIS). 12. Toronto has a gang problem period. Until our politicians in Canada recognize that and stop blaming the US we will not be any closer to solving it. Violent thug fuckbags walk our streets with impunity because our police are on a much shorter leash than their American counterparts. Whenever our police take down some thug, special interest lobby groups scream about all kinds of harrasment, human rights, profiling bullshit. As a result most cops in Toronto's police force are afraid to do their jobs for fear of losing thier jobs in some kind of chickenshit abuse counterclaim. It has gotten to the point where cops patrolling in areas like regent park are routinely assaulted merely for going through the neighborhood and are afraid to do anything serious about it because lobby groups are constantly on their ass with this nonsense. Many of Toronto's cops have complained that this is the leading cause of stress on their job. Our government seems obsessed with all kinds of feel good endeavors like sending cops into high risk neighborhoods to play basketball with local youth and all that PR bullshit. Whenever some psycho-fuckmonkey shots someone, our politicians bend over backwards with all this root cause " if only there had been a basketball court in his neighborhood when he was a kid...." blame society bullshit. They are unwilling to put the blame where it belongs which is with the assholes who are in gangs and are unwilling to " put the cock to them". If our government where to enact some serious gang violence policies which would perhaps make these gangster shitbirds fear the system, they would face a backlash by special interest lobby groups and that would be a bad thing for them in the next election. Therefore I will not hold my breath waiting for any change. Instead I anticipate that Toronto's gang violence will continue to escalate, and the gangbangers will continue to grow bolder (being sentenced to time served is laughable as a deterrent). In the future when the heat is on our politicians about gang violence, I anticipate they will make the same old spineless excuses and.....blame the US. That is much easier than showing some balls. My apologies to any Americans who were offended by this idiot mayors stupid comments. Richards. 14. In Canada, when our politicians are faced with a problem that requires tough decisions and a willingness to recognize where our policies have failed, they usually take the easy way out and blame the United States. Remember, it is much easier to find a scapegoat than a solution. Richards. 15. I think RhondaLea sums it up best with; ("I'm saying that there is a disconnect between the two premises that you're trying to relate. It may be bad for a woman to be a dick tease. The price for that is a reputation as a dick tease. Period. There is no justification for rape. And if there is no justification for rape, a person cannot be held to blame for being raped no matter what that person does. The separate issue of taking measures to protect oneself from harm has nothing to do with the original argument you made. That issue applies to many things beyond rape, and it applies to men as well as women. The failure to stay out of bad areas, however, still does not make one responsible for the bad behavior of others. " rl ) I can't think of a better way of putting it, Cheers, Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

  18. Dear Flygurl, I am so glad your situation ended with that punk retreating with his tail between his legs, rather than with you being a statistic. Clearly most of the thug fuckmonkeys on the street understand only one thing and will only live and let live when the alternative is their own demise. Regretably here in Canada we will never allow citizens to have a fighting chance in the abovementioned scenario, and refuse to send real shitbirds (like the clown that was bothering you) into some real prison time. Our politicians would rather bend over backwards blaming society for thugs like that "if only we had built a basketball court in his neighborhood..........crap" than God forbid allow a woman to protect herself. You Americans have created a society where people are allowed to take responsibility for their own well being, and that is commendable. I feel that the right to protect oneself (effectively) is critical and I wish that the Canadian government would respect that. Please be sure to always defend such rights in your country lest your government also leaves you defenceless against thug-shitbirds like that, as ours in Canada has. Remember, if you had been unarmed and limitted to calling 911 instead you might not be alive to have posted this thread. Glad you are in good health, Richards. ps. Merry Christmas to you and your family My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  19. Both were actaully over-rated. In his pre-ban career Ali fought guys like Floyd Patterson who was over the hill and Archie Moore (WHO WAS 50). With the exception of liston and zora folley he did not really challenge himself. Henry Cooper (a brit) almost beat cassius clay but for some crafty corner work by angelo dundee. Tyson fought nobody important (trevor berbick, tony tubbs, an over the hill Larry holmes and an overblown light heavy(micheal spinks)). Therefore it is hard to say howevr Ali did show more ability to handle adversity than Tyson so in apinch Ali would be better prepared to overcome an ugly fight where tyson might crumble psychologically. Ali by KO in round 11. Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  20. RMurray, OOPS!!!! I suppose the next time I decide to go on a self rightious rampage I will do a spellcheck on my e-rant. 21. Ian, You're right. My apologies. I read about this new elction promise and lost my e-temper. You Albertans are actually a very sensible bunch (which is why Parliament Hill fears you). I look forward to the day that the west has a louder voice in Canadian politics. I had no right to lump everyone together. 22. If Canadians would wake up and stop voting liberal out of fear of the other alternatives we would not see this silliness. Unfortunately the Canadian sheep ( oops i mean voters) are to stupid to see past the Liberal governments silly anti-conservative, anti-american, anti-nonliberal fear mongering so we will continue to see more of this silliness. They will ban guns, pit-bulls, sharp kitchen knives, baseball bats and anything that could potentially hurt people ( parachutes may be next) and protect us all from ourselves. Uncle Paul will eventually think for us, control our allowance and tell us when we can go potty. Aren't we lucky. Unless we develop the testicular fortitude to actually send thugs to prison for more than the usual 2 weeks we can ban everything including movies with guns but we will not see any change in violent crime. However this will accomplish one important thing as PM see's it. He has bought votes from the Canadian sheep who will swallow this faster than a whore swallows....... oh never mind. Anyway I am sorry if I wasted anyones time with my rant tangent but I am sick of seeing the Fiberals playing thier stupid games ( thats it Canada, vote liberal without thinking, be very afraid of thinking for yourself, "those conservatives just scare me"). For the record I am not a gun enthusiast but even I think this law is a silly inneffective vote grab. Cheers, Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
  23. Hard call. I suppose in theory I would be a better person if I said yes, but if someone murdered my wife I would want to personally administer a little private justice. I might feel differently if our justice system actually punished violent offenders rather than giving them the usual two weeks in prison. In conclusion. No I could not forgive. 24. Valcore, I am terribly sorry for your loss. I would like to post my perspective on this issue as I have pondered this question myself. I am not offering advice or assurance as I myself do not know. I merely wish to state my own perspective. I hope I do not add to your grief and if I do I am sorry as that is not my intention. I have been curious about this for some time as I myself have had a couple of freinds commit suicide and I hate to think that a so called "loving forgiving god" could torture them for eternity for giving into thier pain. On one hand the idea that one could spend an eternity in unendurable mindbending agony for committing suicide is quite terrifying as once a person has made that decision they have no option of reversing it and they cannot "suicide" thier way out of Hell's horrors. Five billion trillion milleniums from now they will still be suffering in such agony with no repreive in sight for an eternity. The idea makes me cringe. This is the case if one subscribes to the classical christian/catholic view (in my limitted understanding). I do find this angering when one takes into account this whole catholic/christian concept of forgiveness. If one thinks about this it is actually quite sick. According to my own religion; If I steal I can be forgiven and go to heaven; If I kill I can be forgiven and go to heaven; If I rape I can be forgiven and go to heaven; Hypothetically, scumbags who molest little kids can be forgiven and go to heaven!! However If I am in terrible pain and I choose to end my life to escape suffering I will be condemed to suffering in agony for an eternity???????????? This is twisted!!! I do not presume to know the answer however I do feel that the interpretations of religion are somewhat questionable. It has once been suggested that when the churches and kings ran societies they oppressed thier subjects to the point that life was a constant state of suffering for a commoner. A kings subjects sufferd to serve his needs. People had such miserable lives that they would probably have been better off dead. The problem was that if every peasant killed themselves then the elite would have nobody to serve them. Therefore they needed to make the serving class afraid of exiting this world to avoid a servant shortage. It has also been suggetsed that suicide is a Darwinian affect. Suicide is in some cases seen as natures way of weeding out those that cannot cope and who have no natural predators. In nature if an animal is to weak to cope it is eaten. In our soiciety we have safety nets which while effective, can in the short run keep people who have little reason to exist in state of mere survival while not really living. Perhaps suicide is natures way of providing a mercifull release from a futile existenc (there has been evidence of suicide in the animal world, for example the dolphin who played flipper was alleged to have deliberately drowned himself). This is not to say that suicide should not be avoided when possible as many great futures have been cut short by this tragedy. In conclusion I do have a clear point nor do I expect to have provided any great insight to this issue, as I do not know the truth. I did want to offer an opinion of my own. I hope that at least I have not added to your greif. By the way those of you who are making jokes in poor taste to Valcore for mere amusement please tak a moment to ask yourself how you would feel of the shoe was on the other foot. Richards. 25. As a general rule I am a wee bit squeamish about the death penalty as I do place a very high value on human life, however I think anyone who lays a hand on a kid deserves no mercy. Therefore while I would not enjoy being part of the firing squad I would remind myself that this animal has scarred a child for life, and as I carried out the unpleasant neccessity of pulling the trigger, I would disregard his humanity and reserve my sympathy for his victim. I hope this does not make me seem cold, I merely feel that his crime (if he is in fact guilty) crosses all lines of civility.
