First of all.....its Hasselback. Second of all...when a ref has only a 25% overturn percentage and he overturns it....you can bet it was a bad call in the first place. Thirdly.....you must learn more rules of the game sir. When a player falls on his own....which Hasselback did......you cannot have a fumble with contact with the ground. To boot.....both his knees and at least one elbow had made contact with the ground before he lost control of the ball. The play was over. Even if he was tackled. I in 600. Started as a baglock that cleared when I yanked on risers, then turned into spinner due to linetwists created by the baglock. Hard chop. In reserve saddle at 900. I don't care to see the ground at that resolution without anything out any time soon. 2 jumps later I had a premature in HD. So...I was driving back home and a friend said he was going to be at another friends house helping him build his dock. So, I picked up a sixer and headed on over. There was another car in the driveway that I hadn't seen before. I walk up to his house, which is really really small. So small that you can see thru the door glass and see everything in the house except for the bedroom and bathroom. So I walk up....looking at the ground where his new bricks are, and I knock. I hadn't even looked inside yet, but when I did....there it was.....a full on porno with 2 chicks slobbering away on each other. Oh shit....what did I just walk into..... So he pokes his head up over the couch edge with this OH SHIT! I JUST GOT BUSTED! Look. I totally fall apart laughing outside.... He ducks down and I see clothes flying and shit...I figured I just interrupted his woman time. He pokes his head up again and has this smirk/smile of pure humbleness. I yell thru the door, "Dont worry.....you look busy...I'll call ya later!" Of course laughing hysterically the whole time. I leave. I call my buddy that was supposed to be there and tell him all about it. Hes dying too. I ask him to call him and see if he can get the lowdown on whos car it was. So, he calls me back a couple hours later. He said he stopped by and the mystery car was still there, so he decided to call inside with his cell. He answers and my buddy askes him if he is alone cause of this car in the drive. "He says nope, come on in......... I bought a commuter car." Buwhahahahahahahahahahahahhahaahaha I busted one of my friends.....that is 34 or so years old.....roughing up the suspect! Fucking hilarious! I saw that clip as well. It was a hauting clip as I saw my tandem master from 93, Greg in it. Greg was killed in a tandem incident in Hawaii several years ago. I was suggesting a smaller one first because what you have planned is very aggresive approach to getting inked for the first time. It really doesn't have anything to do with the pain, but because you have never done it before, you dont really know how you will feel about being tattooed until you've done it, right? You just might not like it......it's possible right? Oops......my bad. I firmly believe that low timers should keep it really simple, read: no more than a 2 way. Now I'm talking freeflying here. So to clarify, jumping with others your skill level can be a good thing, and a bad thing. Good thing first......its usually your friends, and its enjoyable. Your both experienced and safe, know each others movements and work well together. Now bad.....its usually your friends, and its enjoyable cause you don't know any better. Your both inexperienced and no one else will jump with you, you don't know how to fly your body and you can't see a collision about to happen, and its a total clown act. This is where having a good organizer helps you be safe at a boogie, and gain the safety skills (if the organizer is good), by pairing equivalent skill levels togehter and challenging them on a dive. The trick is to be totally honest with what you can do when asked by the organizer. This is no time to tell people you can do what they have planned, and really know inside that you are over your head. You will learn nothing and you will put yourself and others at risk. Obviously this goes to the newer jumpers, but it also pertains to experienced jumpers as well. I have told Amy Chem, Andy Farrington and such that they dive they are planning that I am in is advanced for me......so please put me in the slot that wont fuck it up for everyone. Not a single time have I been asked to sit it out, mainly because I have given the organizer the tools he/she needs to put me where I can succeed. Sometimes they tell me to do what is advanced for me, and that I can do it....that is where you really start learning. Yes, its riskier, but you don't learn sittin on the outside watching either. And those peeps are good enough to absorb my waffling if things get tough. Enough on this hijack....I could talk about the benefits of good organizers all night. Its good for the visiting jumpers, it fills the planes, it keeps jumpers safer and it creates an awesome vibe when you can share the same airspace with the kind of people/skill mentioned above....and much more. ps. Goal to incorporate as much as possible in one jump. HALO start with friends. Dump the o2 gear at 23k Freefly a bigway. Open 3k over top of top of Whistler BC. Bladerun from the glaciers to the village Nail a sick swoop on a artificial pond in the big open area at the top of the village. Have many beers at the Dublin Gate right there at the end of my run. I'm surprised to see that no one has mentioned the organizers. Perhaps this has something to do with time/experience in sport. Not that long ago, I was so driven to jump, that I didn't care what boogie I went to....I just wanted to jump. I just wanted to experience the whole thing with my friends. That's all that mattered. As time has passed, the big boogies aren't that much of a draw to me as much as they had once been. I find that I prefer quality over quantity now, for one reason. Money. I want my jump money to go as far as it can. That means progressing as much as I can for as little cash as possible. The only way I could do this in the air was to jump at boogies that had plenty of organizers. Now dont get me wrong......the Holiday Boogie has TONS of organizers, but it also has TONS of people wanting to get on the organized jumps. Its hard to keep on focused organized jumps there. By focused, I mean all jumpers of basically the same level....cept for the organizer. That is where you really start to gain experience exponentially. The smaller boogies with a turbine and an experienced organizer are the best I have found. Case in point. The first Moab boogie had TJ Langren as the organizer and 2 turbines, a KA and Otter. I basically spent the whole boogie jumping with TJ and others as there wasn't much of a demand on him due the size of the boogie. It also gave me exposure to other good jumpers that I have come across at other places and was able to jump with them easily. My club also flew out Chris Salcone for our first boogie, and I was able to jump with another world class freeflyer. I also made a good friend, as Chris is one of the coolest guys I have met in the sport. Little turbine boogies, with good organizers is the best way to spend my money I have found. As far as friends go, if you stay in the sport long enough, you'll find that no matter where you go....you'll have friends there. That has nothing to do with the fact that he's fat. That has to do with the fact that he's unhygenic. As far as cause and effect, you are correct. But why does it seem that they go hand in hand so often. Now keep in mind that this isn't just my opinion. In the line of work I am in I see this more often than not. The house is a absolute shithole, smells, they smell, junk everywhere and on many accounts....their undergarmets are yellow with piss.
