  1. Yeah, I was just going to say that. :) A 20-way belly for freefliers is about as hard as starting from the sit! Who we kiddin? ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  2. Hey. Lookin to get a fullface for the seasons up and coming HD bigways that might get a little combative....100 way you say? So, between the Z-1 and the Oxygen, which has better a better seal and performance at 170 mph? Nevermind fit, just looking for the better due to application. Thanks. Brad ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  3. No one really knows......one got too much beer and spit in out and got Jason in the head.....concentration was lost and a small disagreement ensued...... I think they did it again....but lost the majority of the crowd after that. ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  4. Holy shit....that's a funny pic of Jason on the beer bong......I have never seen such focus and determination in a beer bong race.... ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  5. Now that's somethin I'd like to see....... ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  6. Hey everyone...... Next weekend, 24-26th, at Skydive Oregon, we will be organizing for a new unofficial HD State Record. If you have participated on HD Formation jumps before, or are confident on stinging a formation, come play! There are no registration fee for the record, except the fee that is already there for the boogie itself. I hope to see you there.... 7. Hey everyone. Add myself to the list. I will be organizing another unofficial HD Record attempt, and hopefully we can bump our 2005 record of 9. Why only 9? That's all the freeflyers we had at the time, but that was not during a boogie......so let's hook it up and at least double that! Friday will be spent working out the base and exit, and hopefully if all goes well...we will have a new record by Sat. night. Come on NorCal......get up here! ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  8. I think a canopy might be necessary....... ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  9. Nationals at Skydive Chicago. By far, the best DZ I have ever been to, with the most amenities and non-jumping relaxation. ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  10. thanks. ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....

  12. I will say that Mellisa Nelson deserves some props for toughing it out on the last jump with a broken ankle (didn't know it yet, but the pain was still there). I was docking on her in our whacker line, and I was very glad she didn't bow out, as I didn't want a new flyer in her slot. But besides that, I honestly believe that the props go to all those whos this is thier first event of this magnitude. There were many who had never been on something this size before, and pulled it off. I believe that the least experienced flyer had just over 300 jumps, but is also a tunnel instructor. The crazy thing is, is that he got put in at the last second and only made one jump....the record jump. Imagine getting on at that time, after everyone else has had the sight picture for the last 13 jumps...and he has to get it all right on the first time. Crazy. I would also like to recognize all those that came out and didn't get a chance to participate in the record jumps. There was way more people than they wanted to make an attempt for, so many were cut as a result of that. Thank you guys for coming out and sacrificing your week for a good cause. Everyone that attended are amazing flyers. Whenver SDmovies approves my upload, I will post the link. ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  13. Vert...its been going on for the last two days, since Weds. We had 2 days of warm ups before hand, with several 30+ ways being built, I think even a 40-way. The goal is a 69-way, as we have many flyers here this year all jostling for a slot. The jumps have been very very promising, and all I can say is that we are very, very close. Lets put it this way, quoted from one of the organziers "every jump we have done today has been a record", but its just not our declared record. We'll get it. ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  14. Every PC I have had, has had the lanc take a shit. 110, 115, and 2 120's. I got about 15 minutes into the last one, without a manual, then I chickened out. I've got the manual now, in electronic form, and I might take another stab at it. ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  15. Fr33flyr, I made a set of these a couple of years back, when I started to swoop. Since then, I have made them for a couple of people that saw mine, and wanted a set of their own. They are made out of 1000 denier cordura in your color choice with a closed cell padding sandwiched inbetween the layers, to prevent water retention. They are closed by extremely tough velcro as you don't want them to come off in a rough landing. The covers are also wrapped in your color choice of piping for a nice finish. I have competed for the last 2 years with these on, and there is damn near no wear on them at all, and better yet.....my leg straps are still spankin new! Now, am I looking to turn our a shitload of these? Not really, but if you are really needing, or wanting a set, as I haven't made any in a while, I would be willing to take some pics and show you what they look like if you are interested. 16. Hello all, I unfortunately have to cancel this weekend's CPC. There was a firefighter injured in my company, and all timeoff/vacation has been suspended due to staffing, and I having to work this weekend. Hopefully, this wont be a big deal for any of you. After talking to most of you, I have re-scheduled the event for August 11th. I apologize for the inconvenience to all of you that were understanding and receptive. 17. I don't understand why this would even be an issue at most DZ's. All you have to apply to your decision is safety. Swoopers go longer and faster....put the HP landing area where you have the room, and the RW in an area that fits their canopy habits. Who really gives a shit who lands closest. If this is even an issue for you,(not you walt), you don't deserve to vote on the issue and need to think about others besides yourself. I'm a swooper, and if it came down to a longer walk to swoop vs. no swooping at all... I'll take the walk. ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  18. Hey Henny, Any info on your system? I am really trying to get something put together before our next comp on the 14th. TTYS, Brad ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  19. Hey everyone. Our second event out here in the Pacific Northwest went off again without any injuries or mishaps. We held it at Skydive Oregon, in Mollala. Joe and Theresa made us feel very welcome, and helped us get on the loads we needed to, in order to stay in the air. The weather was great with some light clouds up high, but mostly a lot of great warm sun. The winds, on the other hand, didn't help us much. The pond at SDO only allows for a southern direction of flight, and normally, this is the direction of prevailing winds. Last year, we had some long and fast down winders for distance, with most runs well into the 300's. Not so much this year. Cross-headwinds made making it out of the pond the main concern for the most part. The trees on the west side of the pond created some ugly air when on the wall, breaking some pilots concentration for only that split second it takes to mess up a perfectly executed attack on the gates. There were quite a handful of zero's and verts this comp, leaving many of us scratching our heads. Some notable runs were Tom P. 319' distance run...far out flying the rest of the field and his speed run of only 2:09. Tara from Eugene joined us for the second time, and did very well with her set-up giving her the right amount of rollout to get the gates almost every time. Unfortunately, this was her first time at a pond, and it led to some apprehension of getting wet, so most runs were along side the course. Well executed I would say, as she would have been swimming a lot anyways, as did a couple of the pilots. Spencer H. from Canada had the highest score in Zone Acc, with a spectacular skip across the water, only to keep flying it all the way to the end with a stand up landing in zone 3. Never give up. Brad H.'s streak of not missing a gate in the last 2 seasons of competition came to an end with a hairline vert in speed. Well see you in Snohomish on the 14th for the 3rd event. The top 3 are: Tom P. Craig Smiley Brad Harris Final standings attached ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  20. Well, by golly, perhaps they shouldn't try to smuggle hockey bags full of weed across the border, or make hash in their basement! Just a thought.....;) Sorry Rob, couldn't resist. Disclaimer: This post has nothing to do with Rob. But I'm sure he knows several jumpers that fit the bill. ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  21. Ya know, I really am not familiar with that container. That would be a good question for your rigger. Perhaps create another thread in the gear section and post a picture. Brad ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  22. What your not understanding here, is that a business (the DZ) is asking for high quality photography pictures in order to make money off of the visual allure they present. If your in the business, I don't understand how you think this makes sense? If you plan on making money from your promotional work, then you damn well better be willing to pay for your advertising. No where else in any other sport would this be accepted by a freelance photographer. I currently have a deal with a ground photographer that pays me by the day to do aerial shots for him using a 5k camera. He then sells the photos and rights to stock libraries such as Getty. End user then pays for the rights to the photo. If you want to cut out the middle man, just pay a guy to get some shots for you....hell...he might even do it for slot! If you become a professional skydiving photographer someday, you will understand that it is difficult to compare terrestrial photography to what we do, and that jump #'s = experience. The more experience the better the shots, and less likely they will be willing to just GIVE you a shot for you to make money off of. ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  23. Hey bro, you can see things how you want to see them. Its all up to interpretation. I merely stated facts, which cannot be refuted, but I will no be baited into your twisting of my words. A normal person, with the right experience and judgement knows exactly what I am talking about in my post. See you in August.
  24. Who is this and do you have any more specific contact info for me? PM me if ya like. Thanks Brad NW CPC Organizer ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
  25. BHawks, Hey. Like Karen said, come on out to Snohomish. Both Karen and I offer FF coaching for only slot, and I can offer you canopy piloting training as well. We have a Caravan that will fly with only 6 to 13.5k. Checkout www.seattleskydivers.org for more info on the 411. Brad Edited to get rid of those asshole skyride url stealing bastards. ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
