  1. Demoed a PD126R when I had a 143R in my first rig. Ordered a 113R in my second rig. 3 rides, beautiful canopy loaded like 1.73/1. Bought a used rig with Micro Raven 120-M. first ride on it and forgot it wasn't a PD, stalled at approx my shoulders! Luckily I was only a few feet off the ground, still painful but not broken. Put it up for sale and bought a PD106R. PDR(any W/L) rocks, Raven (HW/L) rash! I jump a Xaos 27-79 and wouldn't mind jumping either the 113 or 106 as a main!
  2. After watching the video, you know why they call me stones of steel!
  3. /22/0 19 team "Airtight Skydive Spaceland" practice jumps Sat-Sun and three low timer jumps on Mon. Weather was great considering the the forcast!
  4. I went to Target this evening to get a beard trimmer. Shopping for the bathroom, I picked up some shorts. While looking for the beard trimmer, I came across some luggage/gear bags! I found a nice roller unit that looks like it will hold 2 rigs and a helmet for $39.95. I checked out and the checker checked the bag to make sure it and only it was there! I checked the reciept and the bag wasn't on there! I called the number on the ticket and tried to get them to charge my card for the item that I walked with and they refused! Fuck me for being honest!
  5. Isn't everything N of I-10 in Houston, Oklahoma?
  6. Technically, the jet is in the left-DOWN coast. Yeah but... I'm from San Diego, so to me everything North of the 10 is actually Oregon! And I thought you live in Oklahoma now since you're N of I-10 here!
  7. More research eggs-onerates nature's perfect food For years, I've been trumpeting the news that eggs aren't the ticker-choking death bombs the mainstream claims. I've also been telling everyone who'll listen about eggs' enormous health benefits - egg-eaters get huge infusion of Omega-3s, protein, amino acids and healthy fats every time they crack a yolk. These vital substances boost not only your heart health, but also your musculature, joints and bones, and even mental functioning (more on this in a minute). And don't be lulled by the recent trend in the media that seems to paint eggs in a more positive light - the meat-hating mainstream still thinks eggs are the dregs. They've just been forced by THE FACTS to give them a certain amount of positive ink. Facts like this latest finding from the Yale Prevention Research Center in Connecticut. According to a recent Reuters Health article, a 6-week study of 49 adults showed that consuming 2 eggs daily does not adversely effect either cholesterol levels (completely misunderstood, by the way - but that's another Dose) or endothelial functioning, which is widely regarded as an early sign of arterial disease and an indicator of future heart risk. This finding is significant in that it DOUBLES the American Heart Association's recent blessing to a one-egg-a-day diet for good heart health. This Yale research follows several other key findings I've reported on in recent years, including: The University of Washington study which showed that adding 2 daily eggs to the diet recommended by the National Cholesterol Program had no effect on plasma LDL (consider by the mainstream to be "bad" cholesterol) - even among those with elevated LDL A European study of 21,000 men which concluded that dietary cholesterol was unassociated with heart disease risk A large body of epidemiological research (over 117,000 subjects, in fact) showing that overall adjusted risk for heart disease was identical whether participants ate no eggs at all or seven or more per week Of course, the article cautions that the study was conducted only on "healthy" adults (by this, they must mean "low cholesterol"), and that a 2-eggs-a-day diet may have a different effect on those with elevated blood lipids. Another study targeting this group is planned. Obviously, the "Yalies" don't know about the University of Washington study which already proves there's no correlation. And they clearly didn't bother to ask me - I could have saved them the trouble of all these studies by telling them the simple truth: No amount of dietary cholesterol consumption has any bearing (other than a positive one) on heart health or blood lipids. But a LACK of cholesterol in the diet can surely have a negative impact. Keep reading... Giving new meaning to the term "egghead" If someone's called an "egghead," it means they're smart. And ironically, this term usually reserved for the slide-rule and pocket-protector set is actually dead-on right. Here's what I mean... A Boston University research team recently concluded that not having ENOUGH dietary cholesterol can cause a measurable deficit in mental functioning. According to Reuters Health, the team used data from nearly 2000 men and women who originally participated in the world-renowned (yet largely inaccurate) Framingham heart study to calculate the relationship between total cholesterol and cognitive performance. Their findings: That when the lowest-cholesterol group was compared with the highest-cholesterol group (those with blood levels of 240-380), the low-lipid folks were as much as 80% more likely to perform poorly on tests of similarities, word fluency, attention, and concentration. Hmmm. Blood-fats good for the brain? Yes. And not to be bitter or anything, but I've only been saying this for THIRTY-FIVE YEARS! I'm not complaining, though - it's good to see the truth finally leaking out in the mainstream sources, even if it is only a little bit at a time. But again, they could have just asked me in the first place and saved themselves all the trouble and expense. 11. I was subbing for a team from Dallas yesterday at Spaceland when we heard of the fatality. We cancelled our scheduled training jump and the five of us kinda in shock over the news decided to just go up, build a 5way star and just hold it until breakoff thinking of John in tribute. I had had the opportunity to meat and talk to john on several big way events in Texas and at Perris. I was hoping to see him next month at Perris for the big way invitational. A truly class guy with what seemed an everlasting smile, a real pleasure to be around. My heart go's out to his families of his love and to his skydiving breatheren who feel this like a knife into our own hearts. Blue skies my friend, hope to see you again someday. Peace to his loved ones. Conway
  12. Funny, I didn't have my go-cart or my wing slut with me!

  14. Sorry Sweetheart, I put the details in and dont keep up with the Bonfire! See ya at Perris next month?
  15. -------------------- Funny John that the sheriff showed up alone about 45 minutes after we landed with no support! Had there been an incident, the help would have been way too late! See ya in Perris next month for the 100+ sequentials?
  16. Last weekend Gemini, INSANEDADDY and myself did a demo jump into the dealership of "John Eagle Honda". The 11 O'clock and 1 O'clock demo's went without incident. After we were finished packing after the second jump, a sherif pulled up in the parking lot next to our booth! I heard him asking the booth of radio station KRBE 104, next to us about skydivers. I walked over and let him know that we were done. He asked if we were all OK and responded that we were fine and all landed in the designated landing area just fine! His response was, "Some stupid woman called 911 and said that someone's parachute didn't work" The first jump , I was fairly conservative landing in a landing area I had only been told about, only carving a 90 to land. Feeling more confident on the second, I hooked a 180 in from about 500 feet on my "big" canopy, a Xaos 88-21! I actually had to to pull out a little to avoid the people standing in my path in the parking lot which was in the landing area. Apparrently she saw the hook turn from the freeway and lost me behind a building and thought I went in! We were landing behind the dealership away from the freeway! Insanedaddy and Gemini were landing straight in. Thought this was totally funny!
  17. Congrats Dave! I have no desire to do another tandem!
  18. That's right, we didn't meat! Although we were both in Dublin!
  19. ----------- Not everywhere, At Spaceland you don't just watch the hokey video and jump. It's a training jump with about 45 min classroom time before it!
  20. I wonder how this affects us as skydivers? ...and another thing Here's a tricky question that almost no one gets right the first time they hear it: Q: What is the body's largest organ? A: The skin. It weighs roughly six pounds, and if taken off your body and laid flat it would cover more than 20 square feet. More importantly, skin is instrumental in stabilizing the body's internal environment. And just as the interior of the body benefits from detox, so does the skin. In a previous Members Alert, HSI Panelist Ann Louise Gittleman, Ph.D., C.N.S., shared information about special cleansing baths developed by Dr. Hazel Parcells, who Dr. Gittleman calls a pioneer of inner and outer cleansing. According to Dr. Parcells, radiation (from cosmic rays and naturally occurring radioactive materials in our environment) is a hidden killer that assaults our immune systems, via the skin, on a daily basis. For skin detox, Dr. Parcells recommends this salt and soda soak, which is highly alkaline and helps neutralize the effects of radiation: Place 2 pounds of salt with 2 pounds of baking soda in a hot bath and soak for 20 minutes, until the water cools. That's all there is to it. In addition to the typical radiation we're exposed to daily, each airline flight increases our exposure to gamma-ray radiation, which may put some frequent fliers at greater risk of cancer. Dr. Parcells suggests that a salt and soda soak following every flight, as well as every dental or medical x-ray, will go a long way toward providing your skin the detoxification it needs in order to help keep the rest of your body healthy. 21. I agree, however, do you condone high speed riding on public roads? Nope never broke 147 on I45 going from Galveston-Houston! (that's all my old GSX1100 would do)
