Okay, I'm heading to the Xmas boogie next Tuesday. I need to take a greyhound to Houston so I can fly out of George Bush Intercontinental. There's like 6 greyhound stations in Houston. Can anybody tell me which one is closest to the airport. Bues, Roger I got nuthin

Confused on the Increased Canopy Collisions...
lippy replied to RoysPlayThing's topic in The Bonfire
I'm the same way about snowboarding...It used to be as big a part of my life as jumping is now. But priorities changed. I sold my board for jump money, and don't regret it in the least. OTOH, if somebody doesn't want to get rid of everything else in their life and completely focus on jumping it doesn't mean the other stuff is a waste of time, as long as they're doing what they want. Just my $.02 I got nuthin -
I recently moved to the US and hit my new home DZ, Gold Coast Skydivers. On Sunday they pied a guy for his 1000th jump. Everybody gathered round, the DZO gave a speech explaining the ceremony and introducing Don to those who didn't know him, then he stood there and took the pies in the face. It was a pieing ceremony. Where I come from, when you're due for a pieing you usually don't get it the day you make the landmark jump. You get to wait and anticipate and worry, till one day you get grabbed by four or five people, and dragged kicking and screaming (a token struggle is appreciated) to an open area, where pies are shoved in your face, up your shirt and down your pants. I like that in Gold Coast's way the jumper keeps some dignity, but in the other way you get to surprise the person and pie the shit out of them. So what do you do at your home DZ??? I got nuthin

Don't know about the invasion. I'm moving to Louisianna right away here, so funds might be tight after setting up down there. I'll be hitting Eloy at some point for surely I got nuthin

It has been about a year since I've seen you, but you're looking DAMB good for 126 I got nuthin

Maybe doing this as a political stand in support of assisted suicide I can understand (and support). My take on this though is that the band wants to fill the house with a bunch of fucked up kids pumped on watching a death. That's just not cool. I got nuthin

I'm not sure about documentation, but when I was booking a ticket a couple months ago I asked about taking my rig as carry-on. They said it was fine as long as there wasn't an AAD, cause those things have an explosive in them. Legally, if you're flying in/out of Canada, you can't have a Cypres on the plane. I got nuthin

I got 77. Obviously they're not aware of my plans to downsize soon. I got nuthin

Please spare the 'Blame Canada' jokes that normally follow this sort of post. Transport Canada considers Cypres to be a dangerous item, not allowed on an airliner as carry-on or checked. Consider yourselves lucky. I got nuthin

I've got 345 jumps, and I still get that voice every once in a while asking what the F^&K I'm doing. Sometimes it's very loud, sometimes it's quiet, and sometimes it's just not there. My advice is to ask yourself if you feel confident with your skills, the skills of others your jumping with and your equipment. If the answer is yes than it's time to rock. If not, maybe it's a good time to reconsider that particular skydive(prefferably before boarding the plane). I got nuthin

Somebody out there must know about this. I've heard much about a video from AZ called 'the bastard'. Supposed to be funny as hell, but I can't find it anywhere's online. Anybody know where it can be obtained. I got nuthin

For the past 50 or so jumps I've been front risering on to final. A while ago I started doing 180s. I'd start more than high enough, and always finish on double fronts, slowly working it down. Then I got a little smarter this weekend and went back to 90s, as I was at an unfamiliar DZ and there was a little more traffic than I'm used to. I went back to my home DZ and did a 4-way, and had planned on just a 90, but as I was coming in the 180 was just there. I started the turn with the intention of tapping the 5x5x2ft accuracy tuffet on the way by. I came out of the turn way too low, barely got a half-assed flare to slow down just a touch before I nailed the tuffet. The tuffet is made out of 4 pads, each probably weigh about 50 pounds. One of them took a pretty good flying leap after I hit it, landed a good way out. I went end over end a few times, at one point my feet were in my lines while still airborne, and landed with a decent thud. I'm extremely grateful that I got nothing more out of this then a sore foot, shoulder, and a lesson learned. I fucked up royally and am the first to admit it. I'm gonna go back to what I should've been doing all along...No more than a 90 onto final untill I've got them 100% dialed in. Lesson learned: If you're gonna hook it low, aim for the tuffet I got nuthin

2:5:2 Five jumps, last of which left me extremely sore. First botched hook turn. The other beer is related to the first number. Those mechanics better learn to lock the plane over the weekends I got nuthin

I'm at work, on lunch break. Hopefully this afternoon I'll have something to do other than lurk here though, it gets boring pretty quick. I got nuthin

2500 min, but I'd like 3500. I've been doing a lot of hop-n-pops lately for financial reasons, and I'm trying to get my swoop dialed in, and twice last weekend I had to shake my risers to get the canopy out of the cigar roll. I've started rolling the tail a little less I got nuthin

It's against my religion to leave the DZ with my rig packed. If I'm on my way out I'd rather sit back and have a beer then pack. I usually pack Thursday nights and hit the DZ Friday. I got nuthin

When I laid my canopy down for the cigar roll, I used to 'milk' excess line under the tail. I had a chop due to tension knots and was told by a master rigger that it was very possible that this was the cause. Now I'm just a little more carefull about getting the lines straight and orderly before I lay it down, and a little less picky about the line stows looking perfect. I got nuthin

The vacuum is good, and isn't a factor here b/c we're seeing the problem when the car is off ie: No power assist. I'll take it to one of those places first thing Monday, but it just ain't an option until then. I got nuthin

Ok, I can stop, but it takes too long for my liking. My brakes are starting to go on my Sprint. The pedal is real spongy, and it doesn't seem to be grabbing untill it's damb near to the floor. We bled them, no change. Yesterday we changed the master cylinder, then bled them again with a suction gun. I'm seriously amazed at how long we spent on each wheel before we were consistently getting clean fluid and no air. But after about 6 hours of messing with it, it ain't much better than when we started. We know we've got a good MC, and the lines from the MC down are good. I'm not real mechanical, but a couple of friends of mine who know their shit are baffled. Any mechanical types got some suggestions? I got nuthin
