I have always prefered older women. Then again, it has not always worked out that way. I would not mind if a woman was 15 years older than me. Hello, Mrs. Robinson? Then again, I have also breifly dated a woman 12 years younger than me. BTW, I am 33. She said it was the bike, so I took her skydiving. She told me (happily, I might add) that I wore her out..... Buried alive is a big fear. I personally think burning to death would be the absolute worst way to go. Well, getting blown up and taking a few minutes to die sucks bigtime, too. Bleeding to death, while the body grows cold, then getting short of breath is also a horrible way to go. Knowing you are about to die is one thing. The severity of pain, air hunger, or how quickly you die also would play a big role. Uh, I tried marriage once. Deployed to Iraq for a year. Took her just three months to find someone else. Got back and had to find out the hard way. I was a good husband, honestly. Now I am glad to be divorced (well, the paperwork is going through now....) from her. Never would have started skydiving.......... Now life is good - though it does occasionally get lonely, like around the holidays, but at least I have skydiving and all the amazing things that come along with it. I can honestly say it has been not only the best therapy, but overall I am quite happy about life. Would I get married again? I have a Tri 190 (only have three jumps on it, though- but I do like the way it flies) and think that going to a 170 after sufficent experience and about 100 or more jumps, is a good progression. Should I be looking at a new container? The container I do have packs very tightly. I am wondering of shortening the closing loop would be necessary for fit. I do plan on discussing this with a rigger when the time is right, but this thread got me thinking - merely food for thought...... Does the level of 'performance' a canopy has impact how it flies more than the wingloading it is subject to? I would think a more forgiving canopy at the same wing loading versus a more aggressive (higher performance) canopy can be the difference between sucessful piloting and coming in too hard. I read it, and I honestly have been out of that loop. I do not see where Shayna was trying to use her accident for monetary gain. I saw the vid of her interview - I hope I could be that positive and objective if I was in the same curcumstance. I jumped at Freefall Express this past Friday. I was impressed with the place. Small dropzone, but the people there are awesome! The owner re-packed my reserve for me. I got 3 jumps in. We jumped from a Cessna at 10k. I would not hesitate to refer anyone there for a skydive. I will return, if nothing more to get a few jumps from the cessna again. I learned so much, made a few mistakes, funneled the 3 and 4 way I went on - I would jump with those guys anyday. Shayna, your attitude and outloook is incredible.
