  2. Someone (a thief) has stolen my daughters money out of her card in the mailbox. Then put the fricking empty card back in the mailbox. That realy sucks. But the thing that sucks the most is her mother emails me a shitty letter stating that when my 17 yr. old daughter opened the card there was no money in it her feeling were hurt, and she now knows how I truly feel about her and my grandson. Fucking bitch, she (her mother or her crackhead boyfriend) is probably the one/s who took the money, cause she is cheap, jelious, and wanted to start shit between me and my daughter on christmas. I hope you'll have a better day than I'm having. _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
  3. What is it (low bulk) like 20 threads per inch instead of 30. I'd like a bigger reserve for safety reasons like everyone else, but I think I'm going to wait a bit and let others be the "test pilots". Not trying to say PD's reserves aren't good stuff, or that they would release to the market something less than perfect. I just saying that with all new gear there are usually a few bugs/ or unforeseen problems that need to be worked out. _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
  4. It is $20 for the license fee, but also $49 for the year membership. It didn't cost me anything, I traded labor for a jump. _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
  5. Do you sometimes practice your EP's in a hanging harness? Just courious. I was trained to use both hands on the breakaway handle, and eyeball my reserve handle before pulling the breakaway handle. I practiced them alot, once a month atleast in the hanging harness..........450 jumps later I chopped using one hand on each handle. It wasn't untill later when I realized I had used one hand on each. What is with that? I spent countless time training for just that, and then I do it differently than I had practiced. _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
  6. I had a guy tell me to not check the spot once. The second time he pushed my two way out the plane cause I was checking the spot......let say he never did that again..... It really all depends on how you talk to someone. If you know better, and I agree checking is good, don't listen to him, don't even try to explane your reason to him. (the guy your describing) It all really boils down to how you tell him to fuck off, and the tone in your voice whan you say it. Don't be scared of a bully, don't let thet guy run you off, go back to that DZ, throw your chest out, ignore him, and act like your not scared of him. I bet you will get different treatment from him. and If he says something to you about checking the spot for 1 second tell him your going to be waiting for him it the peas..." You and I will get this shit strait on the ground" Jump run is no place for bullies! Good Luck _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
  7. Hay thanks for thoes pics. Vernon M. looks very young in your pics. He lives about 2 blocks from me. I first met him when he was about to pull my wisdom teeth, and no I don't feel smarter.
  8. First Jump- tandem $40 USD. ( best friend was on RWS probation, so I only paid the pilot for the ride up. Second Tandem- $0 USD. (traded electrical work at DZ for a jump) Static Line FJC- $ Case o beer (best friend was also the instructor for the course.) First static Line Jump-$40 USD (again paid the pilot for ride, best friend was the JM) Rest of the Static lines were also free, traded work and packed tandems for the jumps. First rig $1500 USD. (Again instructor hooked me up with used dz gear) All together was $1580, and alot of hard work at the DZ. _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
  9. should allow the static line pin to rotate, and the reserve ripcord eye to slip off,
  10. How would you know, sonny? You haven't been around long enough to know what your talking about. There are benifits and drawbacks to both methods. Done properly, both methods will poop out a student at the other end with the same skills. ------------------------------------------------------- And chances are the student will be able to pack, and have spent many an hour on the ground preping with JM's through the S/L meathod. I think conventional AFF has about 7-8 jumps, and S/L has 12-15 jumps to reach the same position or level for the student. Thats twice the canopy flight, twice the ammount of exits, and is less money per jump. Granted that by the time you complete 15 S/L jumps ($) you have spent probably the same or more for just 7 AFF's ($). Students can not completely understand the differences between the two meathods, so this question is going to arise all the time. S/L from a C-182 DZ are good for training. AFF from a Twin Otter DZ are good for training. _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
  11. Sup? Actually if you looked at the Vector II system you will notice the crystal ball is a direct link to your reserve pin, and the reserve loop is a secondary attachment to the reserve pin. You will probably have to inspect the system for clarity of my statments, but for a T-I exiting the aircraft and going strait to reserve handle will activate the reserve, however it will confuse the T-I because he will most likely not be able to complete extract the reserve cable. The way it was made would prervent extraction of the entire cable because it would jamb shortly after clearing the reserve loop. The reserve pin (connected to the crystal ball) would jamb against the cable housing. _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
  12. When you hopped backwards off the tailgate of that skyvan, what type of precautions did you take to prevent the sl from wrapping around your neck? All BS aside, hanging from the strut of a C-182 is the SAFEST and eaisest way for a student to learn the Sl progression. period. Hopping from a sitting position, learning to twist the pelves, look up and arch are wasting the students copasity to learn. Learning skills they will not need to complete a program is useless. If a student wants to continue with the Sl progression, and they are having trouble with the " put your left foot in, take your right foot out, do the hoky pokie and shake it all about" meathod, then they SHOULD seek a dz with a 182. As you say, you have seen students struggle with the sl progression with a 182........How do you think they will do when you make it more complicated with a sitting exit from a side door? _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
  13. let me guess, Your doing a sl out ot 206 cargo door in the rear? Am I right? You should have maybe picked somrthing eaiser. I think it is rediculas to sit students in the door for sl. Sl are supposed to be done from the strut of a 182. that is all. Your going tohere lots of opions and advice on how to get stable because everyone has trouble. The reason everyone has trouble is that a sl is supposed to be done from the strut of a 182. You should find another dz that knows what it is doing. Oh sure I have heard all kind of BS about how to do this and that. I have seen people try to deploy sl from beechcraft, and otters, sadly the result is the same, strugle, and failure. Sure if your an experienced jumper/military you can probably do it and be make it. But as Instructors were suposed to give our students every chance to succede, and sitting on the floor of a 206 is just dumb. _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
  14. I think the difference is the ..V3 and the wings have only two rings and the Javelin and the mirage have 4. So...I don't think you can do a fair comparison between the harness designes. (apple to an orange)I had a J2 (4 rings) and now a W-7 (2 rings) both custom made for me. The Wings is hands down the more comfortable of the two. However I think all the manufactures put out very well built gear. I just feel that thoes extra rings on the chest are usless and actually take away from the fit, and comfort, also look at where Sunrise rigging places the hip rings. the location id different that the RWS V3 position of the hip rings. thats all.
  15. Your D license is a prerequiste to becoming an instructor, to instruct new jumpers. A USPA AFF or S/L instructor will not be required to teach a jumper with 4 jumps how to do CReW, or wingsuit. He will be expected to send A licensed holder to appropate training schools or personal for thoes skills. An instructor can take a jumper all the way to C license, then someone like an S&TA will take over for D. But a person has to have a B license to make night jumps, SO>> I think that is why it is a requirment for Your D. Also lets not forget water trainig. Atleast that is how I see it, and why it is as it is. A is a learning permit B is night and water and coach C is high altitude D is instructor I remember a day when you reached 100 jumps you got a C and a jumpmaster with out a test. _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
  16. Something else I've learned on the Icarus mains is to simply twist the risers in your hands in the direction you want them to untwist...think of it like twisting a screw driver or some other analogy that's better. Works like a champ.
  17. The video guy exits back-to-the-wind and pops up a bit. This keeps the entire formation stable to the relative wind on exit.
  18. Well, The skyhook beat my EP's. I knew my reserve was deploying but I still pulled the reserve deployment handle out of habbit. The PD reserve did in fact rock forward and backward. I was told that this "phenomon" is due the the fact that the canopy was out, but the cells have not finished pressurising. What ever. The skyhook may not be perfect but I like it for tandems. The sigma has many features that complement the skyhook to create one of the safest, userfriendly systems on the market.. Anyway I didn't mind the skyhook doing my job for me. I consider myself a redundent system. _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan

  20. Really depends on the situation. I would allow a jumper I know who has experience videoing tandems, to take a gripped exit on my students chest strap, IF I had confidence of its success, and we both knew, and understood the diveflow. Also with the passenger in agreement. Anyway YMMV
  21. Ok I'll give it a go, sence no one else will answer your questions. After seeing one of the instructors at this DZ right on the back of her tandem instructor,

  23. The lesson: If you are a civilian, DO NOT hang around with TERRIOST. You may be caught in the crossfire. Who ever these civilians were I think it is sad they were in Zowie's house. However they had to know better. IF you hang around with terriost, give them aid, or sympathy then you are an enemy of the USA. Bush said he would hunt them down and kill him (bring to justice) I find it surprising that most of you are upset these civilians are dead after the president of the USA said he was going to do it. I just can not understand why anyone would want Zowie alive? You know they could have taken Dylan alive, but instead the cops shot him dead outside a movie theater, his girl ratted him out. I guess when they say MOST WANTED ..DEAD or ALIVE it realy means dead. _________________________________________ Someone dies, someone says how stupid, someone says it was avoidable, someone says how to avoid it, someone calls them an idiot, someone proposes rule chan
