  3. Hypoxia from running too fast. My story, and I'm sticking to it. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
  4. This ever happened to anyone? I'm running on the West Side Highway path a few hours ago. The West Side Highway path passes Manhattan Heliport. There's a helicopter lifting off, blowing wind every which way. I smell jet fuel. I immediately reach up to my forehead to put my goggles on and give a tug to my helmet. Of course, I'm not wearing either goggles or a helmet. I'm wearing shorts, a t-shirt, sneakers, and an iPod. Was very odd. I've only been in skydiving less than a year, but how weird that it was so auto-reflexive! Or am I totally normal? I mean, at least, in that regard. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

  6. I've done it a number of times. Cypres has never given me an error of any kind. Fun to watch the HR spike right before I go out the door, then flatten out, then eventually, drop back to normal. :D _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 7. The fact that you're a beautiful woman who loves hot sauce has quickly moved you to # 2 on my "women I'd marry in a heartbeat" list. You knocked Christiane Amanpour down to #3, by the way. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
  8. Say, you know, here's your biggest problem... You're doing a lot of this (tap top three fingers of each hand to thumb, to make it look like talking incessently) When in reality, you should probably be doing a lot of this. (take three fingers and touch them to thumb and don't move them.) They should get the point. but, as the other poster said, why bother? Doubtful they'll change. They usually don't. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
  9. I'm still going... Gonna actually take it to May 20th... May 8th, I'm doing this again for two weeks. It ends Friday the 19th. Saturday, May 20th, there will be a few bartenders and one kid from the Bronx who will be able to retire off of me. It's gonna be wild. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 10. Like there was any question Discovery was gonna dump him. STUPID to think otherwise. Even if he'd made it, he would have been dumped. Full disclosure: Discovery used to be a client. They no longer are ,and my above comments are from me and me alone. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

  12. This brings up the concept of how NYC has shifted - not only through 9/11 but also prior to that. Growing up in the city, we could basically walk into any building in the 80's we wanted to. Walk right up to the top - was SO rare we'd get questioned. Would walk into the Marriott on 44th and ride the elevators just because it was fun. Go to any of the buildings/offices, walk all around. No one questioned anything. Sadly, it's another era. First thought isn't, "oh, wow, a suicide jumper or BASE jumper," but rather, "suicide bomber who halfway down the jump is gonna detonate a dirty bomb." Sign of the times, but sad nonetheless. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
  13. That was SO my question. Living 6 blocks from there for a number of years, the first thing you learn is to AVOID that whole freakin' area between 4pm and 8pm if you want to walk without having to stop every seven inches. Bummed that he got caught, but even more so that he resisted. Once you resist a cop in NYC, you get slammed WAY more in court than if you just come quietly. Look at Michael Sergio. Landed right behind Keith Hernandez in Game 6 of the 86 Mets v. Sox series, and walked off with the cops without a problem. Got a few months, but for refusing to give up the pilot, not for the jump. And of course, my parents called me this morning, "Oh, is this the next thing you're gonna try?" Sigh. Come on, Jeb... The Plaza wasn't enough for you? _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
  14. Grew up with two parents who were music teachers, then principals, then finally, one was director of music for the NYC Board of Ed. Grew up learning how to fight for what you believe in, and how to build, stand on, and shout from a soapbox, because music and the arts are always the first things to get cut from any budget. Teachers have one of the hardest jobs in the world - they get the biggest props from me. It's an amazing career - and think of how many lives you can change/shape/touch. Nothing like it. Of course, I'm not one, but that came more from knowing I'd never reach the level my parents achieved in education, and also, wanting to try new things. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 15. Why can't a guy admit another guy looks hot without everyone saying the first guy is gay? That, of course, is the age-old question. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
  16. http://www.socialitelife.com/pictures/jh042706_01.php As a straight guy who can admit when I think a guy is hot, I'll start. He's hot. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

  21. Got a 9am appointment tomorrow. Thanks to all for the advice. Doesn't hurt so much when I breathe... I think it might be a reallllly bad muscle pull. But we'll see what the film says. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
  22. This past January, we totally misread the uppers. I opened a good 2 miles or so away from the Ranch. No way will I make it back. Find a big backyard, land without a problem. Gathering my stuff, walk towards the front road. Kid, maybe six years old, comes out, with that accusatory voice only a six-year-old boy can have: "Where'd YOU come from?" I was in no mood... "Your mom sent me. You didn't clean your room?" You've never seen a kid run inside and slam the door so quick in your life. :D _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 23. I have this sneaking suspicion that I broke a rib on my right side. Weird thing is, the pain is in my back, about half the way up, on the right side. Think it had to do with my slammer opening last week. Reason I think it's a busted rib instead of just a bad muscle pull/tear is because 2 Aleve hasn't done shit to... well, alleviate the pain. Any thoughts? Would a busted rib hurt in my back? And yes, if it continues, I'll see a doctor... _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
