  1. I'm red/green colorblind. I know I can get my private pilot's license but am I able to get a commercial or instrument rating? I thought maybe I would be able to but with limitations (no night flying). Anyone know? "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 2. Thanks Dave. I'm lame and don't have photo shop anyone who has it want to help me out a little??? Please.... "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  3. Small question, I'm helping a friend out doing a little web stuff. He wants to use the following image on the webpage. Currently the background of the picture shows up white all the time, but we want it transparent so whatever color the webpage is that will be the background for the image. Does that make sense? I've attached the image. Thanks for the help. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 4. HUH ??? Pilotdave said it the way I meant to, sorry. The openings took longer because they were sub terminal but didn't eat up 800 feet. 5. I'm still a low timer but I have about 60 or so H&Ps from 2100ish. I was using Sabre2s and Nitrons. All opened quickly since they were sub terminal. All were loaded no more than 1.2ish to 1 if that matters. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 8. I left my DVD case on a bench in the airport at Orlando. I only had 4 or 5 in there so not a big deal. I'm sure somebody just picked them up and walked away. Do airports have lost and found numbers? "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. We turned on jump run they said they were ready, but when that door opened they said no way. We did a go around chatted for a little bit, gave it another try but the same thing happened :( Still a great Saturday of jumping. 13. Man I'm glad my dropzone isn't like that If you are a TI and that's how you look at tandems...please re-evaluate why you are doing what you are doing. You can not change your customer’s perspective of what a tandem skydive it to them. It seems (IMHO) the vast majority of people do look at this as a carnival ride(something to be done, marked of their check list and on to the next). While you can teach the ones that want to learn most just want to be taken for the ride. Kirk- I see what you are saying, but I think that really comes down to how you treat each student. If the staff make the jump seem like a carnival ride that is how "customers" will explain their experience. However if we educate them, I think they get more out of it. Pulling, turning even assisting on landing if they like (I realize that's a whole other topic). Granted I'm new to the sport and fairly young in the teaching area, but I hope I never have that view on it. If that was the case I'll move some place where I can just drop my customer off, leave them, pick up my next one and make the next load... 15. I need help pulling a file from a DVD (not copyrighted) and put it on my Mac. It's currently in a TS folder. I just want to be able to pull a section of it using editing software and save it so it plays in QT. Any suggestions? Thanks "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  16. No, no, no, no please mods don't kick this over. I'm not trying to say CCW is good or bad. Or guns are good or bad. I'm merely asking for suggestions from people who have CCWs, what they carry or suggest. I haven't been in SC for a long long time. Not my crowd... 17. If you have a CCW or are planning on getting one, what are you carrying and why? My dad and I are going to take the class and I'm doing a little shopping around. 20. Thanks for all the feedback. I'll give my vet a call tomorrow, but I doubt the UTI. He doesn't meet any of the typical symptoms of a UTI for dogs, but who knows. He's a Spitz and the breed will typically lower the tail (they have a curled tail so it's up all the time) down when they are sick/nervous/etc. There was a dog that was a ways off, but he's never done that before. Maybe it was the storm, but he's never done that in the past. The only real difference was I had just put a fresh coat of ReviveX on my Gortex pants. He seemed very interested in the scent. I'll let you guys know. Thanks again for the feedback. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 21. My dog Roxton (4yrs old) and I were outside a little bit ago. It was stormy here but not raining yet. I noticed I felt moisture on my foot (wearing sandals), looked down and he was peeing on we. WTF?! Anyone else ever have this happen to them or why it might happen? Thanks I'm going to take a shower now. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience.
