  1. My wife and I are getting ready to buy a new bed. We've gone a couple of different times to the stores and have spent 30-40 minutes on each mattress each time. We keep coming back to the Tempurpedics. One concern I've read in some reviews is that they can get very hot. Do any of you have a Tempurpedic and if so do you find it sleeps hotter than normal beds? Thanks "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  2. My dad just took a job as a cross country trucker. Can any of you suggest a GPS? My dad says he's looking for one specifically for people who drive big rigs. He stated that some of them will send you ways so that you don't come across (under) a low bridge. Suggestions? Thanks "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  3. Hahahaha, if she broke 115 on the scale I'd be surprised....probably closer to 110. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  4. No... "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  5. I am a tandem instructor and have a quick question.... Have a gentleman who is wheelchair bound with T12, L1, L2 and titanium steel rods in his back. He would love to do a tandem but is concerned with the opening shock from the canopy damaging the rods in his back. He will get a clearance from his doctor but was wondering if anyone out there (instructor or student) has had any experience with this? Thanks for any help. 7. Did you contact said rigger to let them know of their mistake? If I was a rigger and made an error I would hope someone would let me know..... Nice catch.... 8. Thanks for the updates....if you have it in your notes can you please let us know the reasons given for not filing on time by the candidates? Just curious..... 9. Not really that different, different scale yes but underlying theme is similar....Messed up individual(s), killing people....you can say reasoning or scale makes them different, but in the end....crazy mofo(s) killing people. Again I'm not offended by any of the conversation just wondering where people would draw the line. For example, again just an example....what if someone posted.... "How soon can we start (insert any well known skydiving fatality here) jokes?" Sidenote: How is this not in Speakers Corner yet.... 10. Serious question here.....would people think it was funny if people were making 9/11 jokes? Just wondering..... Edit to add: Could also apply this to the Colombine shootings, Holocaust or any other tragedy. I'm not offended by the posts, just wondering what people would think if the topics mentioned above would also be funny.... 11. Tried it on different channels and no luck with that either.... I'm sure it's something really simple I'm just missing.... 12. I tried that....still can see the router but when I try to log on to it I get "See Administrator"..... "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  13. Yeah that does work at getting the computer to recognize it but I'm still running at G (19-22 Mbps) speeds instead of N (40 Mbps +). 14. I'm sure it's something simple but I'm missing it... My wireless router (Linksys) has been transmitting the signal on the G Band. I just realized it this morning. Anyways my Mac wireless adapter supports a/b/g/n. I logged on the the router and switched it over to broadcast on the N Band. My computer still sees the router but it won't allow me to connect to it. I get "Connection Timeout" when I try to. What am I missing here? Any help or ideas appreciated. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 15. Getting ready to buy some outerwear for this upcoming season....how important are the waterproof and breathability ratings? 10,000/10,000 seems to be pretty standard. I've noticed in most of the clothing lines you can move up to 15,000/10,000 for a small amount more. Is that jump worth it? Any tips appreciated.... 16. I've had the same thing happen as well....not sure why yet. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  17. Just a shout out for some great customer service.... The battery door on my Neptune 2 broke after years of beating it up. After looking online at a few stores I couldn't find a replacement one for sale. I gave Alti-2 a call up and Carol said no problem. She asked for the color of my neptune and my address, when I asked her about payment information she said don't worry about it and it would be shipped out by the end of the day. Even if she hadn't offered it at no cost, the service still would have been great as she was friendly, but going the extra mile is wonderful. Thanks Carol and Alti-2 "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  18. Matt- Do Sigma harnesses have a place for a drogue release or ripcord? "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  19. What does that mean? "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  20. Rover- Thanks, do gusts play into it as well? Let's say for instance they are 10-20 knots? "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  21. Stay- Does having catchers impact it? Is that due to gusts or overall wind limits? Where I'm at we are fortunate enough to have catchers about 99.9% of the time but am comfy without them. I just instruct the student what to do on landing in order to help me collapse the canopy and it's all good. Thanks again for the feedback everyone.... 22. Doke- So at your dz, if 1 tandem instructor says it's too windy for them, then no TI's can jump? Is that wind limit set by the DZO? "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  23. Yes MPH.... so over 21 mph you are going backwards loaded 1.1:1? "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  24. Just wanting some opinions from other tandem instructors of a few situations....if you would jump in the 10-21 and not the 16-27, why? The overall wind speed or the gust? Assume the direction of the wind has no impeding buildings or trees to cause extra turbulence... Winds: 10-21 WL: 1.1:1 compared with Winds: 16-27 WL: 1.1:1 Thanks for your opinions....
