  1. Just depends on how much speed you're looking for. There's a few suits with some speed and less price, so if you compromise that could work. If you want the fastest then you're kidding yourself and wasting your time if you don't get a V (not that there's anything wrong with that though, it's a free planet;). 2. Utilizing an uncanny mix of jumpers from around the world, the Zflock 4.0 Flock just finished a nice 16-way diamond. Congratulations to all who participated; good work!

  4. only mod I know of is the more well-known one called "Pro-Fly" Looks like it works pretty well. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

  6. Nice suit James. It's even got ram-air wings with the body stitching undone for that extra performance increase!
  7. In freefall: every 5 seconds...under canopy: every 10 seconds... walking back to hangar: every 20 seconds. I thought that's the standard that everybody does?? "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Was just filling out the registration when I noticed it's not on a secure connection, so will pay separately through paypal. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  9. My phantom I bought before I saw any pictures and before it had a name, and likely that's how I'll buy my next Vamp if you guys give any warning whatsoever... "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  10. I'm looking for typical observed glide ratios on ground launches near (below 2000' MSL) sea level. Preferably with 9-cell, non GL-specific, non X-braced canopies. If you provide data please specify X-braced or non X-braced, and the approx wind speed at launch site. Also if the temperature was way low or high, that'd be good to include. Thanks, "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  11. draggy tubes?? classics, M1's, GS1's are slow enough to effectively be a pylon if both pylons are pointed in the same direction. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  12. wow, Mr. Campos almost got his clock cleaned! And his suit/rig colors aren't similar enough to yours that it was a case of mistaken identity? "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  13. Rob, Last night on history channel there was a show on the P-51 mustang fighter plane. In the wing design they said that to reduce drag and air stacking on the leading edge they thickened the wing profile in the mid-rear (not leading) part of the wing. Do you have a better explanation of this? "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  14. Of course, it never goes out of style or gets old! "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  15. I think the term you're looking for is "armchair wingsuiting" with calculator and smoking pipe (results may vary depending on what's in the pipe). Nevertheless a nice way to make wingsuit jumps when it's cold and wintery outside.

  17. Actually, I think I remember one man in an early M1 did 7:1 once.. Matt, do you remember the details of that, can you refresh our memory? "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  18. And this is a bad thing? Walt I've heard of it being a bad thing in motorcycle racing. Some racers will abstain for 2-3 nights before a race so their aggressiveness on the track doesn't suffer. 19. Thank you. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  20. Thanks for the picture. Looks like the other two in the picture who are at the same AOA also got way above the plane. Nice work.
  21. I'll be very interested in seeing data from any experiments on this topic if any are ever done, because all the firsthand observations I have in my wingsuiting experience (watching many exits from various jumpships) say otherwise. 22. A+ on the hypothesis! Experience however, should intuitively (only if you fly enough and I realize it's winter) remind you that wingsuits don't fly at 45 AOA; they stall much sooner (as do parachutes), even at the slightly higher jumpship airspeeds. Perhaps with your new instrumentation, and jumpship GPS synched with WS GPS, get some actual comparison data on this. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. 23. The more flockable option is called "Ghost". Good suit, I flew one a few times last time I was flocking at Lodi. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  24. There are still some people (a smaller segment, but I am one) who prefer a glidey suit over a drogue suit.
  25. I think it's just that people learn in different ways, and some (ok, alot) have a need to learn things the hard way (surely you've seen this?).
