Any chance of a picture Nick? Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

I went to last years xmas boogie, and although I enjoyed it, and had a lot of fun, I probably wouldn't go back. Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

I'll be out in Empuria too, I know of a couple of other Brit jumpers going also. Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

Wouldn't it feel entirely different to the fat end of a pilot chute though? As a WS'er, I'm acutely aware of what the hacky feels like, incase I grab wing/grippers. Edited to add: I just realised the jumper has about a nano second to register this. Not the millenium I have in a WS. From the opertator. 'you're not dying today, not on my watch' I was waiting for, 'I have to leave now, here is Steven, he'll look after you' Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk -

QuoteI think the english word you are looking for is "arc", but we'll have to check in with some English jumpers to find out for sure. (Hey, English dudes, if you read this, can you help us out? ) I believe there would have to be a whole lot of current for the electricity to arc to an ungrounded jumper as he fell past. Quote Arc is correct. There is no way the jumper could be shocked on the way past, or even if he touched the powerline only. (don't try this) The electricity needs a path to earth, and it takes the easiest, which luckily, isn't you. If the insulators were bust (unlikely, as the grid would probably go out) you'd find out the moment you touched the tower. I'm sure you could spoof it by using the 'DZ offset' facility. Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

Hello Blair and welcome.

Yeah, that would be the peeps from my local DZ. I think there's something planned for next year too. Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

I'm offended by that. We build a facking great wall to keep those lot out. The Geordie dialect is the oldest dialect in England and therefore the most correct. Check out www.geordielee.co.uk is you want to read a Geordie dictionary!

What kind of wingsuit was it? That picture looks the way it should be, but what does it look like under load? (ie wear your gear and have someone lift your rig up at the back, as if you're under canopy) Does it look the same? I'm guessing the laterals move up enough to jam the cut away system. I'm sure BM advise missing the third loop as you have, but tayloring this to suit your rig and fit. (correct me if I'm wrong somebody) I'm saying this out of a concern I had, not random guesswork. *Edited for afterthought and spooling. I hadn't Matt, so thanks. I just wanted a general overview, I'm not a BASE jumper, I've just seen some pretty awesome footage and wondered at what sort of experience level these guys were. Thanks for the link. Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

Just for my own curiosity, how many jumps did you have before you did a BASE jump in a wingsuit? How many WS skydives did you have then? Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk
