  1. According to some Americans North Korea is the greatest threat to all of mankind. http://time.com/5044371/north-korea-terry-branstad-us-ambassador-china-xi-jinping-interview/?xid=homepage I beg to differ. Of all the nations in the world, the good old USA clearly holds that distinction. What do you think? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 3. Betzilla's situation as a full time rigger in a busy loft is entirely different from my part time home basement business. I look after 6 tandem and about 12 student rigs for the one Cessna DZ I am a partner in. Along with about 30 sport jumpers. It's enough to keep me fairly busy during the every second week that I am home rigging. But it allows me time to indulge customers that will slow me down. Actually, the time I waste on DZ.com and FB slows me down more than if someone was here "helping"! Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  5. I've always wondered. I just packed one DOM Dec. 90. It has tabs. The Javelin design has really changed very little since then. They just keep adding little refinements over the years. I guess the biggest single change is the articulated harness. Is it true that Mike Furry was the main designer, or is that just talk that I've heard? Edit to add: This is from the Sunpath web page. 6. Trump tax plan is best described by a verse of a John Fogerty song: Some folks are born silver spoon in hand Lord, don't they help themselves, oh But when the taxman comes to the door Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 7. That question is nonsensical. It is not what corporations are for. Employees are valuable resources, and expensive to recruit and retain, but the goal is to spend as little as needed on them. That is one of the ways capitalism works. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  8. Of course. Anything I can do to alleviate the appalling lack of gear knowledge in the jumping community I will do. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  9. Peter, I've never seen a Javelin with Velcro riser covers. Have you? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  10. You will not get out of that container what you paid Sunpath to update it. If you price it right, someone will want it. But you are going to take a big hit. It was a mistake on your part to spend so much on updating it. I recently bought one similar, but a little newer. With the articulating rings that yours lack, and a pd143r of the same vintage as the container. So an older reserve but it also has updated risers and a newer deployment system. I paid $900 USD. Yours is worth more because the reserve is worth more. But realistically that container will be very hard to sell. It is in like new condition, but it's all 25 year old design. If it were mine I would probably sell the reserve and put the container away until I found a cheap similar vintage PDR of a 150 Tempo. But that only works if you are a rigger with a closet full of used gear for sale. Your other option is to keep it as a second rig. But most people who do that find that they never use it anyway. I can't really put a price on the container. If you offered it for $200 someone would want it right away for parts. But if you wanted $500 you would have little interest. Of course, all this is just my opinion. If the right person with the right needs comes along you could do better. Good luck. 11. Religious leaders have always been confidence men. (And they are nearly always men) People generally think of prostitution as the oldest profession. But I think priest or shaman is. The best religions do not have full time paid leaders. They have elders who share the duties of leadership for no monetary reward. 12. After looking in a few manuals I did find this in the old Vector II manual. The V3 manual or others I have looked at do not have a similar warning. I suppose you can not warn about every stupid thing that people might do. They will always come up with new ones. Plus newer manuals have much better pictures than the drawings they used to have. I agree with Peek. The Mirage manual is clear enough. It also boggles my mind that someone could think it would be a good idea to wrap the material around the bag like this. Maybe he was fixated on bulk distribution. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  13. Thanks, now I know. But I don't ever want to use such a set up! Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  14. Fixed for you The single break configuration has 6 uppers. 1,2,3 (skip 4) 5,6,7 (skip 8) I guess there are different flavours for different companies using the name "Icarus" Copy from Icarus NZ website: http://www.nzaerosports.com/canopies/icarus-tandem/ Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 15. The answers you have been given are correct. But a little more detail might help you. The Icarus tandem does not use a deployment brake setting. So it does not have a loop to set them. When packing it just treat the brake lines as if they were D lines. Some people stow the excess brake line in a rubber band tied to the D center line attachment point. But it is not necessary. They are available in three different configurations. The most common has large steering toggles connected to only the outside two lines and the small flaring toggles connected to the other six inboard ones. This makes the canopy much easier to steer without having to use much effort. But you must remember to pick up the flaring toggles before landing. Or your flare will not be effective. The setup you have has all eight lines on each side connected to the main toggle. This will give you an excellent flare, but your arms may be tired by the time you need it. 17. I would like to propose a new plan. Instead of arranging things so that the richest people save lots and then "trickle down" happens I suggest that y'all try a plan that puts more money into the hands of the poorest. They will quickly spend it and it will end up with the rich anyway. I call this process "percolate up". I will probably donate a large portion of my Nobel economics prize to a worthy charity. Like Trump would. Remember the new buzz words, Percolate Up! Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  20. You would find my normal skeleton except for a fractured and healed right calcaneus with damage to the talus and arthritis in the subtalar joint. This injury would most likely lead an investigator to believe I had a fall, typically from a ladder. Or possibly a motor vehicle accident. It actually occurred as a result of an unflared landing on a concrete surface. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  24. The 1st amendment is the envy of the world. The 2nd? The world is still in awe. But for an entirely different reason! The English Bill of Rights (1689) formed the model for the US Bill of Rights. But the UK has heavy restrictions on freedom of the press compared to the US. As does most of the western world. Daniel Ellsburg would have gone to jail in the UK. That is, if he dared.....Which he never would have in the repressive monarchical society that England lives under.
