  1. I'm in! Posting all day at work. Drinking and fragging at night. Jumping on the weekends. Then the circle would be complete. Killer band. I just saw them a few weeks ago at the Wiltern Theater here in LA with King Crimson. One of the best shows I've ever seen. I'm going again to see them in DC in October. -"The only way to fix it is to flush it all away. Any F'n time, any f'n day. Learn to swim, see you down in Arizona Bay" - Tool -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  2. I played a little of Wolfenstein at E3 this year. It's kickass. But Quake 4 is just getting started. If I find the link again I'll post it, but as far as I know, Quake 4 and Doom 3 will each have their own engines. Doom 3 is supposed to be more story driven and made for single player while Quake 4 should be mostly multiplayer. I could be wrong though. Haven't seen any screen shot from Quake yet. -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  3. Cool pic, Carl. That must have been way early, cause I can still hold my head up! Left to right: Me, Kimmer, Albi, and Viking -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  4. Gotta agree! Awesome weekend. Just a ton of killer people, drinks (who's idea was it to drink that nasty-ass cement mixer shot ), and of course a bunch cool/interesting jumps. The good: Two jumps out of the DC-3, one of them an 8-way. The bad: An attempted 2-way sitfly with Diver123. I just kept tumbling around until I noticed my left steering toggle flopping around over my shoulder while I was on my back. Flipped to my belly, dumped, and ended up with end cell closure and a hard spin. Fixed that and ended up landing really out between some trees and a big ass pile of tires. And the ugly: On one jump, my canopy got caught in a dust devil AFTER I landed and dragged me 30-40 yards I know now that I should have cut it away, but luckily I didn't get hurt, just dirty. I looked pretty ridiculous! The 4-way with Chris, Carl, Randy (hmmm, a freeflier doing RW??), and I (and Dave on video) was a blast, but man was it ugly!! (I still can't believe I was the one that floated! Dave, you should post that clusterfuck so it'll remind me fo what not to do from now on!! It was great to meet a couple of you for the first time too. (It was about damn time, Lara!) Anyway, awesome, awesome weekend! -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  5. Zennie, You are ABSOLUTELY right about that card. I'm running the GeForce 3 on a P4 1.5ghz box and Max Payne looks awesome. Have you checked out the Giants with all the new patches? Killer! Plus, Nvidia is releasing an external add-on box for the card that will have video capture ability. Composite and s-video in and out. Not firewire, but it may still work out well for video editing. http:// http://gamespot.com/gshw/stories/news/0,12836,2808783,00.html P.S. Not only am I waiting from Doom 3, but Quake 4 and Unreal 2. Just sick! -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  6. I had to come to work all day today instead of heading to the dropzone a day earlier like I wanted to. And I blame you guys! Well, not really you guys but people like you. If had any hope in the world that my employees would actually get something accomplished without me here, I could have skipped coming in today. But I knew they would just fuck around on the net all day! Wait a second. That's exactly what I did all day!!! Nevermind guys, it's myself I blame, not you.
  7. God, Mom, thanks for the buzzkill!! Not to mention, if the traffic is gonna be that bad, I won't be able to go fast enough to get a ticket. Wingnut could make it there in close to 4 hours. He's going the opposite direction. Everyone is leaving LA and going to Vegas for the weekend. Stupid whuffos! -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  8. Wing, You can always bring beer, but the Bombshelter gets a little pissed if you keep a cooler right on the patio. You could put the cooler around the corner of the building and pull from there, or you could just buy drinks at the bar. $3 a beer's not too bad. If I do end up there tonight, which is about 50/50 right now, I'll be more than happy to get tanked with you guys. -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  9. Tick Tock, Tick Tock! I planned on being there early tomorrow morning (Saturday), but I'm now sitting in my office trying to decide if I should just leave everyone here to their own devices and leave now. If I do, they sure as shit won't get a damn thing done. I just wonder if they'll burn the building down while I'm gone. Decisions, decisions. Well, if don't go today, I'll be there tomorrow morning and I'm staying until at least Sunday night. This weekend's gonna be a blast!! Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump, Booze Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump ,Jump, Booze -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  10. Ed, one of the JM's at Perris has a cypres tat on the back of his neck. Pretty cool. As for me, I always wanted one, I've just never been able to decide what to get. I don't want to pick something and then change my mind later. I buddy of mine is in the process of getting some of his removed with the laser. Multiple trips, really expensive, and it hurts a lot more that the actuall tat itself. He ran out of money, and now they're half removed and really look shitty. I guess I just have to find the right one for me. -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  11. I'm still trying to figure out how you can actually "jump your own pack job". I don't think I'd want to. -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  12. Evidence that we have to get 'em while they're young, guys. Before they lose their wide eyed idealism and become tainted goods. -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  13. FallinWoman, I had planned on jumping with an AAD (when I bought my own rig), just didn't know why. I was just gonna do it because everyone else (obviously more experienced than me) said to. But eventually there was gonna be someone that came around and told me why I shouldn't. I've already been there (on the ground) when an cypres fired accidentally in freefall. I'm glad I have a positive story to counteract it! -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  14. Alright, I should be honest here. She actually will get her license Saturday as intended (barring anything I won't mention here...don't want to jinx it!). However, she has this delusional plan of going back home Saturday night right after she finishes her requirements! I tried to explain to her that this is Labor Day and there's gonna be alot of people coming in for this weekend from all over the place. A bunch of these people are expecting to jump with her now that she's licensed. I mean, we all read her stories. Love 'em or hate 'em, we gotta jump with her just to see if they're true! So, anyone that'll be at Perris this weekend, and even people that won't, PM her or respond right here and at least tell her how ridiculous her current plan really is! P.S. I tried to explain to her how she could "work off" the cost of gear rentals and jump tickets!!! -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  15. I'm glad you posted that. Thankyou. I only have 35 jumps right now and no freefly jumps with anyone but myself (if you could call them freefly
  16. Hey Alb, I'm in for Saturday. I'll be the low-timer, but I've done a bunch of 4 and 5 ways since the last time I saw you. Even a few 9 way clusterfucks. Put me in the base and I'll be fine!!! -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  17. It happened fast, so I really didn;t notice what it could have been, but I do know that the slider was not collapsed. I still had to collapse it. I do remember getting spun pretty hard after it slammed me too. If you got any ideas what it could have been, let me know so I don't make the same mistake on my own pack jobs! Also, what exactly is line dump? -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  18. I just had a 2 second opening on Sunday. And, believe it or not, it was in a Spectre230. No snivel that time!! It opened instantly. People heard the canopy crack on the ground and I pulled at 3500. Man that f'n hurt! I took it all in the thighs, so I didn't hurt my ribs, but I felt my spine compress. I've been nursing my back in the hot tub all week. I don't know why it happened, but I do know one thing. No more paying packers.....I'll do it myself. At least then I'll know how it was packed. I keep thinking of all the worse things that can come from a shitty pack job. -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  19. Seriously though, 2 words: ZERO G'S!!!! Ahem, not that I've ever known a pilot to do it, though. Just hoping. Really. I swear. -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  20. RW is when you exit the plane with more than one skydiver, you try to make a formation but someone goes low and the whole thing funnels (aka self-destructs), and it turns into to one big clusterfuck with bodies and limbs flying everywhere. Eventually you just give up and track away to do some loops or a sitfly. At least that's how my RW jumps go! -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  21. Hey cool. I just noticed I'm not a newbie anymore. {short pause} Ok, I'm over it now. -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  22. I would definitely try jumping somewhere cold. I'm kinda diggin the whole falling toward then landing in snow thing. It would have to be like skiing though. Snow's great to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. That's why I moved from NY to LA in the first place! -can't you trip like I do- Clubber
  23. There's no better sense of peace, freedom, and accomplishment for me than to be able to do in my life what I've always done in my dreams. I feel truly lucky. People try to remind me that I'm actually falling when I skydive, but they're my dreams and I know what they feel like. When I skydive it, I don't care what anyone else says, I'm flying. P.S. I tend to sleepwalk and talk in my sleep. It must be pretty funny to watch me when I'm having the flying dreams!
  24. Michele, LOL on the unintentional rodeo. I don't think Doug was expecting it. I certainly wasn't! If I list every one of my first screw ups from here on out, I'll be an Old Hand in no time!
  25. What an awesome weekend! Nobody here at the office can appreciate it, I but I had a blast. Got my A license - Beer! First 4-way - Beer! First 5-way - Beer! First 9-way - Beer! Plus if you count my first downwind landing a week ago, that makes 5 in a week. I'm almost spending as much on beer as I am on jumps! Well, not really, but it's still a lot of beer. P.S. Just wanted to post something that didn't have anything to do with those "other" threads up there today!
