  1. By the way, how do you like Samhain? Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  2. Mommy, can I go out and kill tonight?? The original Misfits, Danzig and Team Ill Vision are very cool!!! 7 years ago I went to a Misfits reunion concert (without Glen) and I was a bit disappointed. I liked the original Misfits better. 3. Yes, you can fly faster then on your belly. You can arch a lot better on your back. Theoretically you could touch your feet with your hands while on your back. You would have a minimal air resistance this way. But you can also slow down to an equal speed as on your belly. The range is bigger on your back. 4. 1) Almost Air Plane crash in Peru 3 years ago with Aire Continente (Try not to ever fly with this airline; they have the oldest planes I ever sat in…) 2) Got lost on a Ski tour in the Swiss Alps and we had to climb an Ice Canyon with our ski boots which got steeper and steeper. We had to throw away our skis in order to climb. I was 13 at this time and when we finally got back in the night, they had already put together a searching troop. 3) Climbing in Italy, I was leading and there was no possibility to set anything so I climbed for almost 45m and 1 m before the stand I got a cramp in one of my legs. To fall in this situation would have meant to fall for about 90 m. That was why I got a little nervous and thought that’s it. But the cramp stopped and I did not fall… 4) After a jump in Argentina, my Canopy was already open, someone past me in freefall with his canopy in line stretch. I first heard him, and then I saw him pass by me in a distance of 3 to 5 meters. It’s not that I thought I was going to die but after I landed, I thought that I could have died very easy if the jumper had leaved the plane maybe a part of a second earlier or later. Close call… Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  5. Why are you using the metric system to describe distance? Your the first American I know who does so?? Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  6. Swiss German (dialect, but Germans normally don't understand it...) German Portuguese Spanish English Some French Some Italian Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  7. I agree on the language part of your post. I have lived in 5 different countries so far and I the first thing I always did was try to learn the language. But I also saw that many US Citizens who lived abroad never tried to learn the local language. I lived in Brazil and knew Americans who didn’t speak Portuguese after 7 years in the country. I live now in Mexico and know Americans who don’t speak Spanish after 5 years in the countries. I think this is because most of the people speak English and as an US or English Citizen you can survive without learning the local language. But I also find it arrogant if someone does not at least try to learn the language! Same goes for culture and politics. I think you have to at least understand the culture or politics of the country you live in. You don’t have to find it OK but you have to know it. 11. You should listen to Danzig. Great Bass Music and it appears that he is very popular in the BASE Scene... Don’t take the lyrics to serious, thought... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  12. Skydiving in Mexico (Skydive Cuautla) in front of two volcanos: Popocateptl and Iztacihuatl (try to pronounce this...) Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  13. I have a Vector V308 with a PD126R and I'm sure a 150 reserve will not fit. Relative Workshop says that you can downsize your main one size without problems. And as the reserve size for the V310 is a PD143R, I think a 135 size main will fit just fine. But I would contact Rosi ([email protected]) from Relative Workshop to confirm this. 14. I also haven't been to Cancun. But when I saw it on wild on, I decided like you not to ever, ever, ever go there. Puerto is great! The Otter will also be there in April during Semana Santa. Maybe you can make it then... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  15. Never been to Cancun? But Ok, your right, here you go... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  16. Yeah, that’s right, but the "Gringos" and Europeans do it anyway... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  17. We'll be coaching, organizing and partying! In regards to the partying, I hope you like tequillas and mojitos... Puerto is great, but it brings some disadvantages though, sometimes there are some obstacles in the landing zone (see atached picture) C U there Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  18. Hi, Nice Pictures!! I would recommend to Katie (AutumnSit) to connect her leg straps with a rubberband. A opening with the leg straps apart like this could hurt a bit.. Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  19. I know that there have been threat about this before but I would like to start a poll about this movie and the election of Mr. Bush. I watched the movie Fahrenheit 9/11 yesterday and I got a new view about Mr. George W. Bush. It is hard to understand for a non US Citizen why this man and this government got reelected. I hope to get some feedback which may help me (and a very big part of the rest of the world) understand why the voters of the US have reelected Mr. Bush. Blues, Michael Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch

  21. Hoi Piisfish, To which DZ do you have to go to cruise around the mountains like you see it in your galary? St. Moritz? Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  22. My previous canopy (70 jumps) was a sabre 1 loaded 1.17. I had some real rough openings with this canopy, one knocked me unconscious. I am now jumping a sabre 2 150, loaded 1.32 for (100 jumps) and never had a bad opening. Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  23. If you can't jump in the US on Saturday, come to Mexico. We let you jump on Saturday and if you ask real nice, maybe even on Sunday... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  24. Thanks a lot for answering my question!! Cheers Michael Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  25. No, my experience was the same as mustard explains. I think the opening fire with one brake unstowed caused that the main began to spin and I found myself already under a spinning canopy with various line twists. I tried to pull the risers apart and started kicking for only about 3 seconds but the lines continued twisting even more so I did not wait any longer and chopped. I must admit that I did not try to release the other brake, but I think this would not have changed anything because of the line twists. And everything was very fast. I think the opening fire that caused the spinning and the line twists started with at the end of the snivel when the canopy started to inflate.
