  1. Sorry man but, Bob Holler tended land next to the packing area what is not recommended during big way events. (I was on that load) Anyway I agree with you 'shit happens'...
  2. AAC L1 has enough power for your 210 lbs, but the question is if you have enough skills to handle it
  3. I can assure you there is nothing wrong with the DZ itself and I saw the "owner" there only once in a few last years Meanwhile 250 miles one way is not that convenient to drive for only one or two jumps unless you have no problems with that. Another thing I find very useful for AFF students is a reading Sec 4 of SIM when you have time. http://www.uspa.org/SIM/Read/Section4/tabid/166/Default.aspx
  4. If you were going bailout on your reserve, what is the reason to disconnect the RSL?
  5. I've flown in SV (Orlando, Perris, Eloy) as well as in AAC and think that airflow quality in AAC is one of the best (only Eloy 16' tunnel is close). I have never felt any kind of turbulence there. And now AAC L1 is my favorite for solo belly flights According to your buddy frustration, tell him it takes time to learn how fly. And nobody even with 1000+ jumps fights perfect in a tunnel at first time.
  6. You may want to try L1 at Waynesville, NC http://www.verticalwind.com/aac.html
  7. You may want to (re-)watch "Breakaway" video and check how much time it took for an extremely experienced jumper who was expecting to deal with that mal.
  8. According to their website, the AAC is open now. http://www.verticalwind.com/milestones.html
  9. Get "break away" video and print your own pictures from it Otherwise it's DZO (expense) problem...
  10. Good question IMO 1. have a real reason to get a fully elliptical canopy (trying to look cool is not the one) 2. have 400-500 jumps total (and 150-200 within last year) 3. check manufacturers recommendation for WL 4. talk to your local canopy pilots whom you trust.
  11. one year later we still there
  12. Brian, I am curious what if in freefall main handle accidently goes through suspension tapes at the point where bridle connects to PC? I was able to simulate that on the ground. If that happens PC become totally unusable... Can you comment? Thanks!
  13. Anybody here knows how to register (get an invitation) for 100(50) way? I've read here it's a DZ event, but who at the DZ is in charge and how (and when) that person can be contacted? Thanks
  14. popsjumper, am I save if I'll be there? (you know what I mean ;) ) I'll be at the Farm either Sat or Sun. Have a good everything! ;)
  15. It produces enough airspeed for everything :)
  16. Sorry, guys, IMHO instructor should not be tipping unless: 1. coach is working 2. instructor is working as a coach, but you didn't talk to him previously F@#k everything, call me cheap, but tunel time costs something, right... Some of you could clame that skydiving costs more... Partially that's try, but I cannot spend $3000 during one weekend for skydiving... For windtunnel? Easy :) So, if I decide spend a weekend in a windtunnel without a coach, how match should I add for tips after $3K?
  17. If you want a simple explanation: http://www.uspa.org/publications/SIM/2007SIM/Section4CatE.htm#ed
  18. I voted YES FYI Swooping banned at SD Arizona
  19. No, man, seriously. You don't think the Farm's event is less valuable than Dublin, right? So, the fee should there
  20. Guys, thanks for the all of your comments. I meant about AFF students who hasn't cleared for their own selfsupervision yet. I knew that it is a bad idea to put them on a sunset load, but since now I will reject it regardless of DZO opinion... Thanks, Val
  21. Can anybody publish the info about funeral, when and where? Thanks, Val
