I jumped a Spectre at the WFFC. When it deployed....wham!... that SOB actually made the back of my head and azz touch. It knocked me out. I came to about 15 seconds later and was seeing the proverbial stars.***** So what did I do? Hell, I bought one. But the key is that I PACK IT! And never have had a problem since. Nice smooth openings.... Don't go away mad....just go away!

Dirt/Dust Devils can and do kill skydivers. I was hit by a large one 4 years ago. At about 500ft. one decided to try and eat me alive. It slammed me sooo hard that I lost my left toggle and then the left 3 cells of my canopy collapsed. Grabbing the rear risers and pumping the canopy reinflated....when I looked over to my left I was even with the power lines. About 30 ft above the ground. Not much is said about these killers but you can read the ground for clues. The obvious is a dark cone...while the subtle maybe just a circular motion above tall grass....and then there's the bad azz ones with no clues at all Don't go away mad....just go away!

My 30 year term policy $250K covers me for skydiving. It's $51/month. And I also carry the USPA $100K for $138/quarter. And a couple of other dead man insurance policies. But if you self employed, getting disability is very difficult. yahooo 2 cents worth Don't go away mad....just go away!

Both skydiving mags live on my bathroom floor. When I hear a plane overhead, then I must find it in the sky and identify it! It's never too cold or too windy to jump.......Ohhhh.. Don't go away mad....just go away!

Insurance companies are damned odd. One company would insure me if I made less than 100 jumps a year. Hell, l spend 10 days at WFFC and you have 100 jumps. I told them to go to hell. Another company just wanted to know if I was current and kept current. So I have a 250K - 20 year term for $51 per month. USPA offers the $100k coverage for about $45/month. Life insurance wasn't so bad. Try and obtain disability insurance if you are self employed and skydive.....OUCH! Blue Skys Don't go away mad....just go away!

I started skydiving and did not tell anyone. But I was lucky enough to have three jumps filmed during my first 20 jumps. So I have all of the outlaws over, we have a big meal and gather 'round the television. I pop in the video with my three jumps on it and NOT one of them recognizes me. And then we have this conversation about skydiving and everyone thinks that it's really cool to do. And of course everyone wants to do it. Then I want to know if anyone in the room has ever jumped....no one has, Except ME! And then I replay the videos and then they take notice that it's me on TV! They just couldn't believe it!, I must have answered questions for 20 minutes while all of the time just laughing my azz off! Blue Ones! Don't go away mad....just go away!

I am closing in on my 1000th skydive. Wow I really cannot believe this. Seems like it was yesterday that I was a hangin' from a Cessna's strut! (aka...dope on a rope) So based upon y'alls input I will do the dive according to the poll results. I promise! And of course buy lots and lots and lots of ice cold beer.
