  1. Don't go to skydive Houston. Go to SPACELAND. Why ? well heres why.Excellent staff and people. 2 super otters.Huge landing area. There are people of all standards, and they are extremely safety concious. I am a newby too, and the really experienced jumpers keep an eye on you, and are never too busy to answer any questions or concerns, no matter how silly they may seem.Excellent instructors, i got my A and B liscenses there. They have the current free fly silver medalists, and excellent formation teams, who compete with the best.Showers , a bunk house, swoop pond. Good rental gear, and arguably the worlds best packers. Most importantly the people are great. Its the type of place where even with rental gear on your back and a low number of jumps and a funny english accent like mine, u can turn up alone and jump with others. I miss the place already and have only been gone a few days. The planet is yours, the planet is ours, the planet is red.
  2. Being a Brit who currently works and who learned to skydive in the US, it suddenly occurred to me that as a UK homeowner that my life insurance policy for my mortgage although it covers nasty diseases, probably does not include skydiving accidents? Does anyone have any solutions or advice. Does this mean when i tell my insurance company of my new habit that they will produce a long "sh*tty" stick and push me as far away as possible? Anyone have any experience of such matters??..... The planet is yours, the planet is ours, the planet is red.
  3. Fellow brit , currently jumping in South Texas at Spaceland , but soon to return home to the Grim North says hello to you too. The planet is yours, the planet is ours, the planet is red.
  4. Thanks for the info, its just what i wanted, and will speak to my rigger on Friday. Personally i do not like the idea of stowing slider behind my neck. Thanks again The planet is yours, the planet is ours, the planet is red.
  5. Keep me updated and i'll do the same... The planet is yours, the planet is ours, the planet is red.
  6. Having just moved from a student rig to my own rig, Reflex, and Hornet 190. What disturbed me on my first opening , was how far the slider came down the risers, particuarly the rear riser.Being used to a student slider with smaller gromits, the slider coming down as far as the steering toggles was somewhat disconcerting. In fact it took me a good 20seconds or so to push the slider up and collapse it. Is this normal, should i worry? should the slider sit just above the steering toggles in flight, what are the risks of it dropping below the toggles. 7. I was told to steer clear and stick with rubber bands! The planet is yours, the planet is ours, the planet is red.
  8. Any news because i have ordered one based on the fact that they can rush it and ship it in 2 weeks, as i leave these shores soon after, and i have heard mixed reports. M The planet is yours, the planet is ours, the planet is red.
  9. Like the Ryan Air idea, cheesey jet fly Prague from Bristol,I am planning to go around 21st of June and this will be my first jump outside the UK or USA. Next on the list is to find a DZ near Chamonix in France, as you can cheesey jet or Ryan Air to Geneva , then Drive. Let me know of any more DZ's u find near Ryan Air or Cheesey Jet Detinations. Cheers The planet is yours, the planet is ours, the planet is red.
