  1. Nice! Nature never ceases to amaze me with its beauty
  2. Its that easy is it Smoking is for pikeys and dirtbags who were either too stupid to realise what they were doing or old school and didn't know better. I'm not remotely interested when I see a girl smoking. Good thing is over here, because of the indoor smoking ban at public places, you can normally identify the smokers as they are wet from the rain and their hair is all over the place from the wind. Its an attractive look... not.
  3. 'salright mucker. Some superstores like Sainsburys & Tescos have machines that convert coins into notes but they take a percentage as a fee. But you might prefer that rather than the tedious task of counting out and bagging coins.
  4. If you have an account with them you can bag up your coins and pay them in, then walk outside and draw it out the machine. If you want to change any of your sterling to dollars do it at the post office with cash (don't use your card!). The post office don't charge a commission.
  5. Oooo, not participated in this before but as I'm just getting in to my fitness I shall now do so! Doing my 3 mile runs now no problem. Probably doing them 2 or 3 times a week. Found a good rhythm with my breathing and my legs aren't whats letting me down anymore its my cardio so I'm finding a good rhythm and just keeping my heart and lungs working hard at a good pace, seems to be working! Been mountain biking the last couple of days which has been trail riding so mostly fast sprints followed by punishing hills. Nice bit of change of pace to vary the cardio training zones. I've worked in the aerobic and anaerobic zones so a good mix this week. Now I'm going out for a gentle run to recover (if that makes sense) and burn off some of the shit from the BBQ last night Just hope I can stay motivated.
  6. Glorious sunshine here
  7. Main won't even be here until end of August. Then I still got reserve and AAD to go Let me do some calculations... I might be able to get BPA membership and rent some club kit for a couple
  8. His ears were burning!
  9. I've PM'd you some dates. If it all goes tits up I'll see you in Spain anyway and I'll buy you all the Estrella you can handle as a belated leaving gift
  10. I'm going to be working throughout the whole boogie chasing hoodies We'll have to get together before your going away though mate.
  11. It's too hot out your way for all that nonsense. A nice English overgrown shadowy woodland is what you want . Luckily they haven't taken the decision to tax air, YET, so mountain biking is allowed for the moment. Just have to tell the dog walkers to pick their shit up. Don't fancy face planting in dog shit.
  12. Well, I got myself a Boardman Team mountain bike a few months back: http://www.boardmanbikes.com/ I had been riding it to and from work quite alot and was beginning to regret my purchase. Riding it was such hard work. The gearing was all too high, the position too racey.... BUT THEN I TOOK IT INTO THE WOODS YESTERDAY (for the first time I'm ashamed to say)... Wow, what a bike. Its so damn fast its scary as hell but its easy to throw around too being so light. Spent hours in the woods yesterday finding all the trails and was permanently grinning from ear to ear. Had a few narrow escapes where I had to bail off the run where I overcooked it and dodge some trees but what a laugh. I'm not a hardcore mountain biker so I don't know what the opinions are on the scene but I really love it. Anyone else tried a Boardman bike? I'm thinking of getting one of the road race bikes soon too.
  13. Hi Jane, My course is July in Kent so it seems not You'll be a handy person to have around on Tony's paragliding expeditions and our trips to Emp then!
  14. Well, maybe I'm too hyperactive but I get so bored when I'm not at work (yes you read that right) that I have volunteered to become a Community First Responder for our ambulance service so that I will be available for call outs locally. I've always liked first aid and love getting stuck in, something I get to do quite a lot at work, however I thought I'd take it one step further. I passed the interview earlier this week and start training soon. The level of first aid taught to police is piss poor so I thought this would be really complimentary, particularly as we are often first on scene to road traffic collisions, calls to people unconscious and assaults etc and work alongside the ambulance service and fire and rescue service. [rant] Everyone should learn first aid at school in my opinion and also be taught not to be such arseholes and help someone if they are in need. I can't stand it when people walk or drive on by when they see people need help. [/rant] I'm looking forward to going out third manning with an ambulance crew for my initial training. Will be interesting. Not bad knowledge to have around a DZ too. I know a large proportion of skydivers are emergency services
  15. I can count what I would call real friends on one hand but I often refer to an acquaintance as a friend if I am talking to someone else. Its easier than saying: "this guy I work with, well his brothers girlfriend whom I met for 5 minutes once... blah blah blah"
  16. Summer is here and I been thrown loads of overtime to keep the unruly yoofs in check. First overtime I've had in a long time
  17. Hi, I'm after a 15 metre shuttle run (bleep test) tape, CD or MP3. Can't find one anywhere. Can only find the standard 20 metre test. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Sam
  18. Well I must have upset alot of people other here because i ordered all my gear (almost) abroad as it was so much cheaper.
  19. Police in the UK here. *waves flag proud with tear in eye*
  20. I was half shocked half amused when I had a PM saying I had bee banned with you for that. If this was the real world then this forum would be run by President Mugabe
  21. I know it doesn't help your situation but that's probably where the problem starts. Lack of resources and specialist skills. You've got your money back though. Change your bank account details and put it all behind you.
  22. That won't go anywhere. You can;t hold the department liable for the costs
  23. Haha yeah. He was my old boss. Not bad driving for an old fossil knocking on 60 eh!? The mini came second both races but it was still a comfortable class win.
  24. Made a little vid for my club at one of our local events. Thought you might enjoy it. Some cracking racing in the day :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MXbw-x4_Uc
  25. I am now completely free of Windows.. finally! I'm now running Freespire instead of Ubuntu 7.04 (although it is Ubuntu based). I have to say its awesome. Works right out the box. No need to unpack any futher archives, it comes with all the video and audio drivers preinstalled, loads of plug n play compatibility and I was even able to run my PCMCIA Linkysys wireless card without any problems. Something I've never been able to do. Oh and it looks damn purdy. Not one single MS product on my laptop now, not even dual booting :D
