Good luck One must ensure that his or her spirit is never broken......Samurai Maxim

  9. My first attempt looked something like that.............it wasn't to long ago. however I still haven't nailed it yet Cheers One must ensure that his or her spirit is never broken......Samurai Maxim
  10. Second question, i have problems keeping my head up while in freefall Make an effort at looking at the horizon, and not being fixated on the ground....your gonna get there soon enough.
  11. Thanks for clearing that up.....sry I should have been more specific and not used letters! However age sex and location would be ggood as well. Cheers One must ensure that his or her spirit is never broken......Samurai Maxim
  12. Just curious if there could be a section for ASL listings on the drop database? Blue skies Rich One must ensure that his or her spirit is never broken......Samurai Maxim
  13. Agreed. Just did that exact route except in the reverse order. It's a long drive but well worth it......I-8 is pretty baron but one of best drive I've ever taken. Make sure you go through the montains during the day.
  14. Agreed.........This is what I was taught and it works like a charm. Before when I thought I was tracking, I was actually in a dive. Lots of vertical sep. but not much horizontal sep. Takes a bit of getting used to if you been doing it the other way. Good luck One must ensure that his or her spirit is never broken......Samurai Maxim
  15. I was rcenting travelling with my rig. I fortunately didn't have any problem....except in Calagy on the way home. I not sure they had ever seen a skydiving rig before. Called the supervisor over and he just doubled checked with the airline. Check out this from the uspa web site. I also printed a copy of the tips from the TSA's web site and another letter I think I found on the uspa website, just in case I did incounter a problem. http://www.uspa.org/membership/travel/rigs.htm http://www.tsa.gov/public/interapp/editorial/editorial_1147.xml It is usually up to the airline that you are travelling with.....A parachute is considered sporting gear and is on most airlines allowed to be carried on. I also on the same trip had checked one rig and carried on two. One in a gear bag and one without. I did not have a problem with the checked gear. hope this helps blue skies. Hope you got the name of all the people involve and all your flight info. to contact the USPA to let them know what happen. One must ensure that his or her spirit is never broken......Samurai Maxim

  17. Hey you shoulld maybe try freak n suits. Everyone at my dz wears them, they are strong and durable as well as realitively inexpensive. One tip pay the extra $20 for rush delievery it is still worth it. The only problem is they are based out of Lake Wales and they no longer have a hanger, so I'm not to sure what they are doing now. 18. I recently took Brain's course.......If it the same one and I think it will be by the sounds of our conversation before he left my dz. It's awesome. Everything you want to know and more. He is basing his course on the new edition of his book (The PARACHUTE and it's pilot). If you have questions ask...and he is more than willing to answer. But not just answer he will also explain his answer unlike most skydivers. There is no "just because" that's the way it is done. Hope you enjoy it.......there lots on high preformance landings. O.k so skydivers, base jumpers and crew dogs etc. have dropzone.com There is also canopypiloting.com for swoopers etc. Could anyone please tell me of if Base jumpers have a website like canopypilots do, to talk about base jumping? all info is greatly appreciated Cheers One must ensure that his or her spirit is never broken......Samurai Maxim
  21. Second scariest jump I ever did! My first jump on my new gear. I get my container and reserve and three weeks later I get my main. Two weeks after that I get my Slink in the mail complete with instructions and I assemble everything according to manufactures instructions. Check eveything over six times and pack. Next weekend get my "A" and now I can jump my gear. Ride to alt. constantly messaging cutaway handle and checking reserve ripcord. Exit the plane and in freefall thinking is this canopy gonna stay attached to the risers etc. Dump..........................................4 seconds later opening shock! Look up under a perfectly good and perfectly attached main But I do a complete gear check before evey jump no matter what.
