Cool. We are getting our Super Otter this week, so when you come and see us in a month you should have a quick ride to altitude with 21 of your best friends.
-
I'm 205 without gear and jump a Hornet 190. They make a 210 and 230 as well. The 210 should be fine for you, but you could go with the 230 if you aren't confident in your canopy skills.
-
So did you jump it yet? If so, were you at Thomaston this weekend? I was there Saturday. I wanted to come out Sunday as well, but had too much other work to do.
-
Had a good weekend, even though I only got in 4 jumps, they were quality. Started off with a 3-way sitfly, then a 2-way, then a couple of coached jumps (8-way, then 5-way). I screwed up the exit on the 8-way by losing a grip (on the coach nonetheless!). We had an 11-way practicing all day that was cool to watch. The 5-way was cool because I got sandwiched between two guys who didn't exactly turn in place. I was getting sucked down to the guy below me and the guy above me was also getting sucked down. I just slid out and watch the high guy go head down and start tumbling. It was hilarious and nobody got hurt.

Well, I don't live in Florida. But I'll say this much. I moved down to Atlanta form Michigan 6 years ago and I'll never move back up North again. Florida is about the only place I'd consider if I left Atlanta. Mostly because of the weather, job market, and of course all the DZ's.

That guy was one hell of a pilot to be able to keep that thing in the air as long as he did. If it had been a smaller plane he likely wouldn't have been able to keep it in the air even with the amount of skill he must have.

Congratulations! Looks like we have yet another Georgia skydiver here at dropzone.com. Hope to see ya around some day. The Dutchboy

You should make a trip down to Georgia. Doug Glover from Nemesis does free coaching all the time here. I just did a couple of coached jumps with him today at Skydive Atlanta. They are having another free 4-way skills camp on the 12th of May at Skydive Atlanta. Have a look at http://www.skydiveatlanta.com or http://www.4way.org/nemesis for more information.

Oops, I forgot to say that these shoes are only about $30 as well.
-
Sounds like you need some kung fu shoes. They are very light with rubber soles without much tread. Perhaps when mine get a little more beat up I'll start wearing them when I jump.
-
OK, I may only be 14th in quantity, but what about quality. I've had many quality posts like this one.

Lots of new skydivers (including myself) are getting Hornets, especially if buying new. The price of a new Hornet is around $900 which makes it cheaper than many used ZP canopies. 75 jumps later I am still having fun with it loaded at 1.24 lbs/sq ft. I also have several friends that like the Spectre for a new jumper ($1400+ though).

Forecast for Skydive Atlanta this weekend says partly cloudy and about 85F for the high both days.

I think you are refering to Roy at Rigs-n-Things http://www.para-service.com I bought a similar rig from him, except with the Dolphin container. I'm very happy with the rig and with the service I received. I've got about 75 jumps on the Hornet and still love it. Fun, but forgiving.

That is might brave of you Anonymous. Your mother must be so proud, spreading rumors with anonymous posts.
-
With the Tempo you are at risk of saving money. I've never had a rigger say anything bad about the Tempo's, but then I don't get advice from people who are trying to sell me something.
-
Sounds about right, other than the red hair part. I suspect she has recently died her hair blonde. I could be wrong though.

You should come down to Georgia. I live just outside Kennesaw, Georgia. Kennesaw has an interesting law. If you live there you are required to own a gun and be trained in it's use. For some strange reason, they have the lowest crime rate in the state.
-
Small commercial here: The Spectre is a great canopy and I have several friends that jump them. I bought a Hornet brand new for

I chased some sheep in Ireland this weekend. But they are actually on the DZ. It is hilarous to watch them running away from you when you swoop down.
-
I can say that someone asked if this was my first jump at IPC. When I said yes, the first word out of their mouth was "beer". I think they do have beer on the DZ, but since the weather turned bad early they all hit the pub instead. I figured that I drank around 2 gallons of Guiness this weekend (hick). I need to bring some beer on my next trip.
-
Well this was my 2nd Cessna jump, the other being a jump from the 182 this winter. The door on this plane was huge so the step was actually way behind me. I was sitting in the back on the pilots side blocking the wind for everybody else.
-
I had as much fun just hanging out as I did jumping. It rains there often which is different from continously. It seems to rain for a couple and then get sunny, then back. Obviously, sun all day is prefered, but if it didn't rain so much there it probably wouldn't be so beautiful either.

My company could use some C++ and Java Programmers and a couple other folks. We do have a company skydiving team complete with soon to be ordered jumpsuits. We've also been known to pay for skydiving lessons and vertical wind tunnel time.

You can read my review in the gear section. The summary is this I have one, I've put 73 jumps on it and it consistently opens soft, really light toggle pressure, lots of flare. Flys great. Can do a bit of turf surfing if it is loaded good enough.
