I was talking to one of my pilot friends the other day. He asked me how much freefall time I had. I told him I'd have to look in my logbook. He was shocked. "Skydivers have logbooks?!, I thought only pilots had logbooks".

On my first real RW jump with my new RW suit (Bev suit) I cranked out 9 points on a 4-way with three other randomly selected guys. Too cool. I finally got enough drag to keep my 205 lb. body from getting low all the time and could actually focus on the rest of the jump. BTW, Marcus was one of the other guys on this jump.

Guys & gals, I've got a request from the DZO to try and estimate number of people participating for planning purposes. Also, she would like to know if we want to get fed at the DZ Saturday night or if we would prefer to go into town. Town has more selection of food, but would mean that at least some of us couldn't drink (drivers). BTW Froggie, I did a 2-way sitfly with someone from Crosskeys today (Craig). We sorta screwed it up, but it was still fun.

I have also used Brent's method and it works for me. Another tip I got from somewhere else. You don't have to fold the whole thing into a stack and try to get all of it in the bag at once. Fold the part closest to the bag first, put it in, then "tuck in" the part with the lines. I find this much easier.

It has been advertised all over this site. It has been mentioned here several times and is also listed in the events section. Mike & Dawn haven't really advertised it, because we only told them about it last week.

Who is going to the Southeastern USA Dropzone.com Boogie March 24-25, Skydive Atlanta? I'm there Skydive Atlanta is my home DZ I'm from another Atlanta DZ, but will be there I'm driving from elsewhere in the state I'm driving up from Florida I'm driving over from Alabama I'm driving down from Carolinas or Tennassee I'm coming from elsewhere, but definitely coming I will probably come I may come if I can get good airfare I don't like to have fun so I'm not going

I have never had my PRO-Dytter fall out of my Z1. One thing you need to realize is that there is a pocket, but after you slide it into the pocket you need to slide it up underneath the lip in the pocket. I don't think I'm describing this well. The openning for the pocket is not right at the end, this keeps the contents from coming out.

The video is part of the training so you don't want to eliminate it. I've done the coaching thing at Flyaway in Pigeon Forge and found it very helpful. Alot depends on the coach you get.

Don't have an auction that goes on forever. Most people want instant gratification. I won't bid on anything that isn't ending within a week anyway. Think of it this way, if I'm looking for item X that I can get from multiple places I only want to bid on one of these at a time. Having a long auction (> 1 week) just means you'll have your item longer because nobody is going to bother and bid on it.

Hey that's a rule, never talk somebody out of giving another skydiver some beer. If you ever make it out this way I'll give you some of the beer. Honest, I'll save it for the rest of ya.

This reminds me of when I was in Holland with my brother. There was this huge texan with his ten gallon hat, boots, etc. staring at the sign at the bus stop. He heard my brother and I speaking English and he turned around and with a strong accent said "I wonder if you boys could help a fellow American in need". We both found it quite hilarious that he couldn't figure out their simple bus system. It was even more funny that nobody could understand him, even though they start learning English at 12 years old.

Just call it the DZ.com Flyaway Boogie. I'm assuming that you're going to the Flyaway wind tunnel there. I didn't get any grief from the big guy about the Southeastern USA DZ.com Boogie that is next weekend (24-25) at Skydive Atlanta, BTW. You might want to invite him along, just to be safe though.

Good point, Mike. I have a Dolphin D3 which is sized for a 170 reserve, but I have a Tempo 210 in it that works just fine.

Welcome, Dan. If you are at Skydive Hastings on the 13 April you might see me there. My big brother is (finally) getting married the next day and I was going to go jump with him and his fiance. It will be their first time. Then the next day they're getting married, then they'll have their first ... (uhh, never mind).

Sure, she's at the DZ every weekend with her five totally hot female relatives. It's easy to see the resemblance too since they're always practically naked. About once a month they all do a big way nakie jump.

No, it is so funny when you just mention skydiving to most pilots. They just look at you like "Why the hell would you do that?". I can't blaim them. A year ago I was the same way. Didn't understand why anybody would want to get out.

I like the book and video reviews. How about some jumpsuit reviews as well?

There are a couple problems with the RC idea. First, the RC plane would likely cost as much as the plane I've been building for the last four years that's nearly done. Second, I couldn't log the flight time on the RC. Third, gotta get my own jump plane and let one of my friends fly it to build time. Fourth, I have way too much fun jumping with my friends in the otter at Skydive Atlanta. You know I think those RC planes are harder to fly since you aren't actually sitting in them, but maybe it's just me.

Just having a great day and had to share. I finished my flight review and am now a current pilot for the first time in over seven years! When I got home found my new Bev suit waiting for me. Now I hopefully won't spend my whole RW dives trying to get back up to the slow fallers. If you don't care about flying stop reading now. OK, if you are still reading this you are probably a pilot. I just had to tell the best part of my flight review. I'm cruising around and he pulls the power and says "You just lost the engine, where are you going to land". I trimmed it out for best glide and looked around a bit. Saw an airport a good 6-8 miles away. Focused on it for a couple seconds and said "I'm going to land there". He was very sceptical and I told him if I didn't make it there was a field between me and the airport I was going to go for. I not only made the field I had to do a 360 on final to burn up the extra altitude. Nice landing. My only dead stick landing. He's never had anyone actually land at an airport on a simulated engine failure before. He was really impressed. At first I think he thought I was just lucky. Then I asked him if he wanted to know why I knew I would make it. I told him about the accuracy trick I learned skydiving and about how my angle to the airport got steeper and not less shallow, etc. You should have seen the look on his whuffo face. BTW, I always wear skydiving shirts when I fly just to see what the other pilots say. Sorry to bore y'all with this. But hey, I'm just really happy and you didn't have to read it anyway now did you? Compared to flying this is free. Just finished my flight review today . Between the physical, flight time, instructor, etc. It cost me about $500. I could practically pay for all the jumps to my C with that.

That's right. The Dukes of Hazzard are from Georgia. All of the skydiving chicks in this state look like Daisy too!
