Thats not so bad! I know someone (think its BJ) jumped from a chopper above the whole, and I've heard rumors atht Patrick de Gayardon reached Terminal Velocity before entering the cave (but I've never seen any documented report on it.. Any one?) Remi Muff 914
  2. When did this happen? At Espace 2001 George still was handing out few Time Outs as demos... Remi Muff 914
  3. It can funnel for a very large number of reason: as you said, F Float doesnt present enought, but also if he present too much, if the people in the door dove too steep or not steep enough, rear float dragging the formation down if they go too early, front person in the door not presenting their upperbody.... you name it! I think the reason its called a funnel is due to the shape of the chaos that follows: you end up with people pilling one of top of each other in the middle typicaly, and then they drop, creating a "funnel like" shape. 4. Clay, a bit of advice (from a completely non-lawyer type person): dont call her a bytch in writting (ie in these forum).. you never know who might dig this up.... Remi Muff 914
  5. from memory, they have instructions on their site. Remi Muff 914
  6. used to be 14 for the C, right (man its been a while since I took the instructors and aoach courses....). I must say that I think the way the CSPA re-did the licence req. is pretty good, by having people chouse a couple of skills out of a list of a few more (RW, FF, style, Sport Acc, Acc, .....) But then again, my next licence will probably be the BPA D.... Remi Muff 914
  7. sounds like I left Hinton too soon.... Remi Muff 914
  8. I was curious myself... here's their response, and my creative translation ------------- les détails à propos du boogie ne sont pas encore déterminés. Le site dépend des avions et vice-versa (longueur de piste) ! Nous espérons aboutir à une formule qui vous plaise au mieux et diffuserons les infos dès que possible. ------- Boogie details arent set yet. The site will depend on the planes and vice versa (runway length) ! We're hoping to end up with a set up that will satisfy you and will distribute the information as soon as possible. Remi Muff 914
  9. For CSPA, its the International Series, which is 360 Left, 360 Right, back loop, 360 Right, 360 Left, Back loop, under X seconds (cant remember how long from the top of my head now), but 18s rings a bell.... Remi Muff 914
  10. and the shocker is that its in France !!!!!! Remi Muff 914
  11. Pammi, when I was contemplenting a move acrros to Denver, I used http://www.homefair.com . They have cost of living comparators, general info, etc.... Remi Muff 914
  12. To quote Monty Python RUN AWAY RUN AWAY Remi Muff 914
  13. I see it now too... get a hold of them (they reply to emails), dont take my rantings for fact..... It is one great boogie with top notch quality jumps.... and if its a small boogie at Lapalisse, that DZ has world class facilities (cleanest toilet and showers rooms I've ever seen at DZs, awsome food, and about 20 or 30 clean rooms). Have fun where ever you go! Remi Muff 914
  14. then I dont think they used that bird at Espace to my knowledge. They did use large choppers (I thinkMI something or another). Remi Muff 914
  15. I still think its piss poor by Jumpshack to post this clip without THEM puting the background info. And I still think I would have liked to see how much force was required to pull the bag when pulling in the proper axis. Not sure at all about that comment: [qoute]so it continues to pull at such an angle(when belly to earth or head high) Remi Muff 914
  16. its a vid of a couple of people picking up a rig by its reserve briddle, then spinning the rig around, still holding it by the briddle. The way the briddle is pulling isnt up (as it would be on a deployment) but rather imagine putting the rig on, laying on the floor in a RW position, and having the briddle pulling from in front of you. The free bag doesnt come out until while they are spinning it, the rig touches the ground, and the angle of pull changes. There is not explanation of what/who this is. PS: its only 700 k.... I'm sure you've downloaded pics bigger then that! lol Remi Muff 914
  17. No, it doesnt look good.... BUT, without having any info on what they are testing (couldnt find a write up, just the clip), I'm not 100% scared shitless... The reserve briddle is pulling on the freebag in a very unatural fashion (in parrallel with the rig, as opposed to a pull from straight up for a normal deployement sequence). I'm not saying that its normal for the damm thing to stay in, but as soon as the rig touched the ground and made the angle the briddle was pulling change, the bag came out. Remi Muff 914
  18. nope.... when I copied and pasted, the way my pc is set up, it opens a explorer window and loads up quicktime as the player, which doesnt have the right codecs. If I right click and save as on the link instead, I can play it with whatever I want (real player in this case has the right codecs on my pc) Remi Muff 914
  19. tight pack job or not, its a bad set up waiting for an accident to happen.... Remi Muff 914
  20. putting in the link coz my codecs wont work by default.. save s might help.. http://www.jumpshack.com/download/spintest.avi Remi Muff 914
  21. was that the chopper? Yea.. they used a big ass chopper for a few years... that would have been cool... Talking to some who went to those boogies, the last one they had was scary! a little too old and not too well maintained! lol.. thats why they went for the AN 72 after I think.... too bad we were in North America at the time... Norman kent has some cool pics of exits from those boogies in his book. Remi Muff 914
  22. Keep your pantyhose on Ramon... They havent published the dates yet... (http://www.espace-boogie.com/flashed.html Karen and I would normally go, but we're doing the "Relative Work" tour of Canada this summer. There were strong rumours last year and this winter that Espace would never be back to its former glory because of commercial challenges : a couple of years back, there were loads of big ways RW, making it easy to justify a big plane/chopper. Now, its smaller groups, lots of freeflyers (some big groups of those, but lots of smaller ones too) and more lower experienced RW people too, making a jet tailgate harder to justify financially.... That being said, we still went last year (2001) even if it was a toned down affair (its was at Lapalisse (awsome DZ by the way), and no special plane, "just" 2 Supper Otters and 2 Skyvans) and did some of the best jumps in our lives... You should be fairly proficient at RW or FF if you want to get into the organized groups. You best bet for this year is to get a hold of the Lapalisse DZ (they organize Espace, wether its at their place, or the "regular" Espace location of Vichy) http://www.lapalisse-aero.com/france/flashed.html and ask what's happening... And let us know !!! pm me if you want more info. PS: I hope and pray its not the end of Espace.... awsome boogie, awsome vibe, awsome jumps..... shame about the nakedness on the day's summary of the jumps video.. PPS: the AN 72 holds about 70 people, not 40....[big grin] Remi Muff 914
  23. my point exactly.. Remi Muff 914
