Is more weight benefical throughout the swoop?
Bartje replied to SkiD_PL8's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
It is not any more an exact science. One type off canopy in a difference size but with the same wl can give different results. Different kind of canopies with the same wl give even more different results in flight characteristics. Even in swooping, you will see that swoopers will take extra weight for the speedrounds but for distance they will take a bigger parachute. Even this can be discussed now since the last worldcup. Yeah, Scarry Perry, that's a good coach. Grrtz B. A FreeFly Gypsy

Hmmm, I think it gives less drag with the foam in the tube then without the foam in it. Does it move much in the relative wind? Greetz B. A FreeFly Gypsy

When is it OK to start learning to swoop?
Bartje replied to Tonto's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
"Swoopen is geen kunst, blijven swoopen, da's pas Kunst" Translation:"Swooping is not an art, continuing swooping, thats art" Some people are just faster then others but everybody who's swooping did has his/her crash/bad landing. What is the answer? Are we talking about canopycontrol or swooping. A good swoop is the result from a good canopy controled flight. So Learn to fly your canopy before you swoop, the other way is not the good way in my opinion. A FreeFly Gypsy -
When is it OK to start learning to swoop?
Bartje replied to Tonto's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
What is the definition for a swoop? Teach them young is good but teach them what, make a good landing and a turf from 15ft or is a swoop realy the big long surf turf and carving and .... For me swooping is: get to the gate without taking risk, a controled landing with a big horizontal distance. For other it is a nice carve during the horizontal distance. If swooping is making a controled landing true the entrancegate and do a few yards you can not start soon enough. When swooping is carving, speed, distance and ... making agrisuve turns to gain speed before the landing then you need more than 300 jumps (on the same canopy). A FreeFly Gypsy -
that say's it all. Flying the Velocity happens for 80% between your ears. A FreeFly Gypsy

Nice story dude, the 5000ft ASL give a lot of speed. What was the hight from the entrance gate with your 122.5m swoop? A FreeFly Gypsy

Damm, and I do efforts for long hair. What would be the perfect clothing for swooping? At this moment it is all cool but imagine that in the future swoopers jump with bodygloves so tight that .... A FreeFly Gypsy

So it can help to make yourself as small as possible during setup and swoop. What about the gravity point? When you hold your feet as high as possible, what does happen with the weight? A FreeFly Gypsy

-30? Arnaud did burn his nose when it was -32C°. Colder than -20 at 13.00ft and I do not jump, not for the cold but for packing after, it hurt your hands. A FreeFly Gypsy

Hmmmmm, I did not jump the Xaos often but the few times I did jumpedit I was suprised how deep the bottomflare was. A FreeFly Gypsy -
Have fun at Maubeuge, Perhaps I will be there to help you out with the packing. A FreeFly Gypsy

That's cool, but I was hoping to get some visionary things to hear. A FreeFly Gypsy

What's your vision for our sport. After posting a remark at the safetyforum I did start to thinking about skydive evolution. I did make a comment that it will be a 3d 30way with 15xws and 15xcanopy pilots doing a dive/flight. But swooping the suit for 300m using groundlift? High speed canopy rw? 4-way rotations with canopy and ws? Speed canopy vertical descends? Make your mind free and tell it here. A FreeFly Gypsy
