  1. No idea if this helps (I had nothing better to do!) Found this from here (seach 'otter' or 'A9EA') Says the otter's minimum crew is 1 (pilot) Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  2. http://www.uspa.org/publications/SIM/2006SIM/section5.htm#52 At the DZ/Instructors discretion if they call it a FJC or a 'refresher' course. With only 10 jumps and a long lay off a 'refresher' course will probably be much the same content as a FJC but wont take as long as you'll hopefully remember a lot of it! At least one jump with an AFFI, maybe more depending on performance. Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  3. Hot... but only if you got a nice bod

  5. Hehe - and the student is oblivious to the two guys doing headstands on his back and is just doing what he's been taught...checking his alti! Nice picture

  7. http://www.skydivemag.com/ has some interesting articles that should keep you occupied until you get to jump! Although not all of it will apply (as you are learning in the UK) you'll find lots of useful information in the USPA SIM (Skydiver Information Manual) http://www.uspa.org/publications/SIM/2006SIM/SIM.htm Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!

  10. I agree that if her freefall skills are ok there is little to be gained by insisting she continues as an 'AFF student' when a coach can provide adequate FF training from this point on. It would be a good idea to note something in her log bog like 'cleared for self supervision in free fall - requires radio assistance under canopy'. Just in case she were to jump somewhere else - another DZ/Instructor may take 'passed L7' to mean her canopy skills are up to scratch. As for charging for radio - I think it's wrong to make $ part of the decision when it comes to student safety - if both the student and her instructor feel it's needed then cost shouldn't deter her from having it. Same goes for charging students for cutaways/repacks.... $ should not be something that effects a students decisions when it comes to safety. 14. USPA 'A' is a minimum of 25 jumps and covers freefall skills, canopy skills and general skydiving knowledge. Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
  15. If you have a small but regular income and saving is a problem you could always do a static line (RAPS) course instead. The initial course is cheaper and each jump is cheaper compared to AFF. You'll get more jumps for the same money, get more canopy experience for the same money and still be able to jump if the cloud base is 4000ft
  16. Ummmm....So what if her bf and his buddy are skydiving somewhere?.... Come on - give her a break - talking about what she did right or wrong at the time is one thing.... but is really anyones business if her bf is at a dropzone???!!! 19. If your not jumping at a DZ I think it would be classed as a demo by the FAA and would require the relevant paperwork and approval... and a minimum of a C license.... http://www.uspa.org/publications/SIM/2006SIM/section9.htm http://www.uspa.org/publications/SIM/2006SIM/section9part105.htm 3 hours drive ain't so bad Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!

  22. I'm trying to find a copy of a document that I used to use for students / refresher classes but I didn't bring a copy with me to my new DZ It's called "Under Canopy" it's a single side of A4 and a simple checklist style reminder of important canopy information. ..... anyone know what I'm talking about ?? and where I can get a copy - preferably online Thanks in advance!! 23. I've met Skydivers from Japan... and they've all told me it's *really* expensive to jump there - so get saving!
