  3. It would be disconnected from RSL and chopped before being released. At least that's the book procedure. Might not hurt as much. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

  8. The aerial photo is what Houston Gulf Airport looks like NOW. Follow the back arrow pointing sub division NW, and you'll see it's GONE. No runway. What used to be open fields for out landings are all houses. Sorry about the FB link. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  9. It is a Sigma 340. According to UPT the Snap is designed to keep the toggle from being shoved too far in. If the brakes are stowed in reverse order the secondary can usually release the mess. Didn't work for me this time, however. I'll go back to stowing brakes every time. This won't happen again with me. Live and LEARN. (DIE and OTHERS Learn... hopefully.) Russell M. 10. The short video did not show all the effort. Yes, I DID use both hands. Even the student's hands. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  11. I confessed to the screw up in the initial post. My left hand was gripping the reserve and I moved it to the center to "get the shot" of the chop, and the reserve popped .7 sec before the risers let go. I was already pulling the cutaway handle. It was inadvertent. I didn't realize it until I'd seen the movie a few times. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  12. Absolutely. You can't land a tandem safely with no ability to flare it at the bottom. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  13. I thought the same! Look at the attached picture - the main canopy is still attached, and the reserve PC deployed quite far. It was about .7 sec before riser release. The result was a very fast deployment. Yes, I fessed up to it. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
  14. Here As I said in another forum this link was posted to, be careful what you do with your left hand in order to "get the shot"
  15. Pretty routine malfunction caused by a young packer not SNAPPING the toggle down. He shoved it too far in, thus, creating an impossible release. Lesson for HCam shooters. When you get ready to chop and you have your hand on (through) the reserve handle... don't move the camera into "get the shot" position untill you actually chop. A very close look at this reveals that my hand movement into shooting the cutaway position popped the reserve a fraction of a second before riser release. You Tube Look Picture attached is the old Boatman Airlift Otter from Spaceland League City. Just to get you to LOOK at this post. Russell M. 18. My fourth jump. I had already bought it for $200.00. I put a hundred more after that. My first "stable" freefall on it was from about 8k. I backed up a couple of miles to the peas. No chit.
