Nice video, very well done! "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  2. My other hobby is singing in a Barbershop Quartet. I can't count the number of times I've been asked, "How many are in your quartet?". "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  3. very well done! "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  4. I had to buy new sunglasses this past September, the nose piece broke on my old ones. I bought the old ones just before the '81 Canadian Nationals in Claresholm, Alberta. I bought the exact same model and make as the ones that lasted 23 years-- RayBan: Aviators "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  5. Most of the reasons for getting this done are effectively myths at this time. Most of the world lives on with out getting cut. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

  8. I'd suggest Otrivin but only if after you use it you actually feel all clear before going up. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

  11. THANKS!!!! Working great!!! I love this site. In the cold weather its one of the few ways I can still be in the air. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  12. Drinking lighter beers might be a good idea but if you really want to feel even less bloated then you should drink Scotch. Great Tasting - Less Filling! "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  13. I can find the requirements in my old documentation and get back to you. One privledge was that it came with a life time CSPA mmemebership "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  14. Thanks for the update all. It appears that I have been gone longer than I thought. Shows with my licenses (CoP... we have to be different.. don't we..) A#995, B#18xx (have to check) and my C#1152. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  15. Its a good idea Steven but unfortunately won't happen this year. With buying all new gear this season, the cash flow situation sucks. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  16. Even us old skydivers kept up back then so I haven't jumped shot and a halfs since 76. My first rig was a Lancer with a belly mount reserve. Right after I bought it from Ian Marshall out at Parachute School of Toronto, took it to Eddy Grimm at Niagara Parachutes and got the one and half shots replaced with R3s and pack opening bungies updated from hooks to snaps. Boy that was pretty advanced stuff... R3s! "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  17. The web site is http://www.cspa.ca I can't give you good comparisons on license numbers but we have about 10% of the population in general... Also we have one more level .. the E license. Means that you offer policy suggestions to the almighty himself. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  18. Talk to your rigger. It's pretty easy to get the BOC moved to the other side. I had pull out years a go and hurt my sholder so I had my rig set up so that I could pack it for either a right or left pull. 19. My girl friend is blind in one eye and she does just fine at every things she does (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). Now she pretty light at 110 lbs and jumps a 170, transitional gear as she is still pretty new at this, but she's never had a problem landing. From her stand point she been with out the use of the eye for her whole life and she has just learned to compensate. 20. I blew my knee skiing in 1996, both my ACL and MCL went, and wear a brace for both skiing and skydiving. I use a DONJOY which was relatively inexpensive ~$700 and does up with velcro. It rubs a bunch so when skiing its over the long johns and when skydiving it over the jeans. Won't do any sports without it. 21. In my opinion the instructor should always stay in the plane if a student is going to be landing in the plane. You can never be sure what a studnet will do. Best to be sure and stay with the student - in the plane. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  22. When I saw the phrasing "Is he going to get it?" I realized that he might actually want two things for his birthday. I can only speak to one issue and yes I am going to buy him a first jump course for his birthday. Even his mother will go along with it, she's agreed to sign the waiver so one less thing to deal with on that front. 23. I've been lurking around the forums sucking up information and it probably time I made a post. I started jumping in 1976 and had a lot of fun. Got married in 1986... after the divorce (I am now a single father) I started jumping again last year at the end of August. Wish I'd never stopped! Its good to be back and having fun in life again. Was able to make 28 jumps in the 6 weekends I got out the dropzone. Buying new gear (everything... should be ready in a week). I titled this Old/New Skydiver because so much has changed and I am learning all over again. Fortunately the dropzome (Didsbury/Canadian Skydive Center) has good people that are VERY helpful. My son turns 16 in a month and I know what he wants for his birthday. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  24. My first square was also a bright green star. Looked ugly on the ground but with the sun shining through it in the air it looked great.
  25. Full service dropzone, tandems, students and licensed fun jumpers welcome.
