Just got the cam, it's in a good condition. Has only one small scratch on the surface, but still has some warranty left! European PAL Version I found out it can control 25 frames in progressive mode, which is a real bonus I didn't knew.. The seller says that he heard it can record even in 30p, but this function is somehow hidden, because it's not in the menu. Does anyone know if this is true? A quick search on the web supports this rumor, but says not where it is.. Maybe only the NTSC cams? http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Sony-DCR-PC1000-Camcorder-Review.htm

Hey, As bandwith is increasing more and more and harddisk space is getting cheaper and cheaper, I think it's to time to increase the maximum attachment size to 1MB. C'mon it's still less than a floppy disk!

Thanks for the info.. Then I will be trying to get it ASAP ;)

It's the European version (PAL). It's not grey market and doesn't have a japanese menu.. It's from a friend of a friend, who is getting a HVX200.

What does "amateur" mean? How do you distinguish between amateur and semi-pro/pro?

Yes, you heard it right. http://www.eye.fi/ Could be interesting to speed up the whole copy process... Pictures upload instantly to any device (or the web: flickr, picasa, etc..) when you have wifi access. Question: Is it possible with a directive antenna to bridge 4km wifi? Then you could see the pictures while still in freefall... would be awesome for the spectators! Max

More contra arguments: Battery is not user changeable One tiny MONO Speaker (with bad sound) The micro-DVI out is single-link only, meaning it can drive a 24-inch monitor, not a 30-inch. There's no DisplayLink converter / adapter yet. Anyone ordering?

I can put a sleeping bag in its tiny bag pretty easily - thanks to knowing how to put a canopy in the dbag. I can roughly eyeball the height of a flying airplane from the ground. .... go on!

Hey Everyone, I'm looking for a post about Groundlaunching/Speedflying Sites in Europe.. There was a listing somewhere where Sites and Guidelines were posted, but I can't find it anymore.. Does anyone have an idea? Might have been a link to an external site.. -
