  1. does the flik have the ZP option? i f so, i agree with tom a. if not, ZP is sexy, makes you glide farther, flare nicer, and still lets you sink it no sweat. the packing is slightly more difficult in dry conditions, but i think its worth it.
  2. I remember when i few really damn good dogs out here in co did that on accident and they both died. I would rather not beat that. " here is a good one, lets play russian roullette, only, tonight, well load ALL the chambers, that way everyone wins!"

    really? are you sure?
  4. thats about as textbook as it gets for walking into something.
  5. the greenmachine makes a good point. "While the idea of people getting injured or killed bothers me, the idea of hiding something so remarkable in an ill-conceived attempt to protect people from themselves bothers me even more."- Anms
  6. here in colorado we use bell 205 jetranger, specified as 100-150liters/hour. but thats besides the point, the point is, even IF the fuel is burned at -1000lbs-/hour, the cost of a average life flight is MOSTLY insurance, med staff, maintenense, and pilot. we are cheap in CO, (tiny lil chopers, not your rich ass eurocopter shite) i was on a life flight once, granted, i was asleep,, but the space is so limited, my head touched the firewall, and my feet were hitting the panel.

    Toxic PC's

thank you! how about something more along the lines of vent placement. any pics like that?
  8. probably, but th dbag does not seem like it could be attatched, much less a pilot chute.
  9. cloud is not really chassing you, not any more than a human takes a step sideways to smash and ant. -SPACE-

    Toxic PC's

i bet its been posted, but can someone post a pic of one of these magic pcs?
  11. http://www.atairaerospace.com/parachutes/heli-chute/ repost. kinda.

    Toxic PC's

no, there isnt. if there is a measurable difference, i quit BASE. the PCs i made have 'slices' for reasons other than keeping the inflation stretch thing spherical, but i did do symmetrical ZP 'grain' pannels none the less.
  15. I dont know if you were serious, but the fuel used in a life flight is about 2% of the cost of the flight itself, its actualy pretty much less than 20% of all heli costs. average patient paid Life Flight-8000 USD. time used in heli for life flight (spool up, get to site, fly patient to hospital, fly back to heli base) about 1 hour. fuel drain in bell 205 in one hour-210lbs jet A (35gal) average US price for jet A- 4.20$ gallon price of fuel for one hour life flight-150 $
  16. so... a round, but square, with little or no forward motion. stop the presses, cancel your ramair canopy orders. the future is now. modern BASE rounds dont oscilate. and they are round. and simple.
  17. not really... the uppers were cooking. I had a wing that decends at a shade less than 1m/sec with a top forward speed of 48km/hr. uppers at dbag altitude were about 80km/hr. I landed out after a 40ish minute Acro paraglider flight. way out. just more proof of concept. i hope to be jumping a canopy with a 9/1 GR every jump from now on. imagine... instead of 6 min to practice crew, haveing an hour and a half.
  18. just so you know, I did a paraglider Dbag from 18,000' yesterday... had a 40 minute flight, most of that altitude being lost in Acro maneuvers...
  19. i have done it, and built my own Dbag for my wings. I Dbagged a paraglider from 18,000', originaly from an otter just yesterday. PS-I did not get any cravats, I was slow on the breaks for one, and the wingtips kissed eachother, thats it.

Why? It does what's advertised, evening the bias more so than any other PC on the market. I'll agree that I don't find the benefit to outweigh the added cost, but that's just my opinion. Agreed, my PCs have 3, or 4 slices in them. why on earth would it be bad to have slices in the PC? you -DO- look at you pc to check for anything wrong with it before stuffing it into the BOC right? ('anything wrong' would include AN ENTIRE GORRAM STITCH COMING APART ON A BOUBLE STICHED SEEM) -SPACE-

    Wind Turbines

Turbine blades slow the air movement fairly little, and have small amounts of turbulance. As the blade moves through the air, it creates a relatively small turbulance wake. the mast makes more of a difference than the blades.

    Wind Turbines

80 meters is 262 feet. Jumpable but hardly huge ... 80 meter turbine is pretty big, it means the at the average mast-diameter ratio, that blade diameter would be about 45 meters.
