  1. Man, that to me is a very parochial analysis. The writer/explainer does their best but the capabilities of the reader to understand the message are also determinant. It well could be my general lack of capacities but there are many things I've needed to re-read to even start to get the message. I suppose that's why I'm not on the Alien communications team at SETI.
  2. Happens to the best of us. To make it right for the next week you need to start every sentence with: "I don't know but I heard somewhere that...."
  3. Would it mean anything at all if he were?
  4. Yes. And I'd point out that the majority of that is from people traveling coach.
  5. I suppose you could argue that any raw materials mined in the US would benefit from intangible drilling costs and the depletion allowance if you just had to go granular and silly. But I'm not sure you'll find the same sort of underground mining to product in your gas tank vertical integration in solar panel or wind mill manufacturing that you find in the oil industry. Of course MLP's were created to benefit, and were limited, to real estate and natural resource companies so I'm not sure those are an available structure to green industries. No matter, like green energy the government found ways to subsidize hydrocarbon energy. That's a fact.
  6. Nope. I left out any subsidy issues to suck you in. Thank you. I know you know that Oil Industry Companies benefit from many Government programs such as Master Limited Partnerships, Intangible Drilling Costs, Royalty Payment Reductions on Federal Lands, the Depletion Allowance, the Domestic Manufacturing Deduction and the Foreign Tax Credit and so on. Are you thinking those should never have been gifted to the industry by the government?
  7. Except when his name is Donald J. Trump. You guy's are hilarious.
  8. Whiting, Chesapeake Energy Corp., Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. etc.. Apparently not only Solar companies go tits up.

    covid-19

Eat two arepas and call me in the morning.
  10. The economy destroying pandemic followed the marvel of hydraulic fracturing, right? And no, I don't recommend another as a way of further reducing CO2 emissions. However like fracking once didn't exist so it is with the next thing. Visionaries are willing to gamble on unknowns, stationaries just look at what is easy and now and wonder why anyone would risk change.
  11. Indeed, Brent, that is the only thing. No other possibilities exist. It was never a chance that fracking wouldn't some day be a reality and certainly an oil embargo is something no cartel would ever impose on an oil drunk western world. And as anyone who can see in their oily crystal ball magical thinking has never once produced a magical technological innovation.
  12. Fuck that. I want his scalp on a pole. The asshole incited insurrection against the United States of America while he was President of the United States of America. If that doesn't warrant conviction then nothing ever will so then why not lets just shred the Constitution and have a goddamn free for all for a government?

    covid-19

You need a hug? That was a lame attempt at shaming. We are all dealing with shit, man.
  14. And, from reports, took no shit. He addressed US support for Ukraine, Russian hacking including Solar Wind, poisoning Navalny and US willingness to extend the START Treaty at least. Importantly, apparently, he did it before talking to our allies. In other words US leadership on the world stage is back. We have a President again.

What was the title of your last book, My Life as a Drama Queen?
  16. In my 33 years of running Jet-A burning Aircraft in the Jumping biz I've paid from .85¢ up to $5.50 per gallon. The world still turns on it's axis and skydiving is still on offer to any and all who wish to give it a try or make it their sport. Stay calm, it will all be okay.
  17. And this in spite of decades of Republican efforts to increase access to public transportation for the benefit of those poor folks unable to afford a car? And that 3 buck a gallon milk that goes into those socialist school lunch programs would be 6 bucks a gallon without heavy annual subsidies.
  18. What Brent and the rest of the herd immunity heroes miss is that people without covid will be denied a hospital bed because no one will choose to stay home and choke to death for the greater good.
  19. I'm guessing he hasn't bought a hundred bucks worth of bitcoin lately, too.
  20. I didn't. I was too busy watching the video's of thousands of treasonous Trump lovers storming the capitol. But I'm definitely not surprised there were a few only brave and clever enough to stand around with signs.
  21. Just because we count in units of degree does not mean a 1/2 degree or less isn't worth counting or is insignificant.
  22. Maybe heroes like Brent should start a movement to refuse the vaccine, no matter which group you are in, until all of the weaklings get immunized? Better, with social media they should all be able to gather together like at Woodstock and infect each other for the greater good. Of course, no going to the hospital like pathetic losers when you start choking. Surely the rule of 3's will tell us how many weeks it will take before the pandemic is over.
  23. If a handful equals 3 (that number again) you are right. If a handful is 4 then the odds are the same-per year.
  24. FIFY Sorry you are correct, the Dr. who made that claim extrapolated that number, using actual testing and an estimate of asymptotic and non reported cases. When I said one in three I had no clue if it was right or wrong I was just hoping no one who can count to 3 would notice and someone somewhere would get pissed off enough to wake up jakee and get him posting. Good catch!
