Arrghhh. Before I took to burning hydrocarbons for a living I was a no shit tree hugging, granola eating, save the world asshole. I simply don't recall that anti-vaxxing was ever discussed when the topics were mostly focused on, and I was always and still am virulently opposed to, the flammability of certain types of equipment. But, I forgive you because you turned me on to using sandwich makers gloves when working on greasy stuff.
  2. Winsor, can you just, and only for a minute, stop imagining that everyone else here are complete morons?
  3. Sort of. I'd actually say the here the next generations are. Most of the liberals on this site, oddly enough, seem well set and will only benefit more as the disaster unfolds. But no matter how anyone wants to parse it, the people who were willing to pay more for a better society aren't to blame for this shit show. That belongs to the low taxes for the richest, me get mine first, johnny get your gun, let's use the religious to win crowd.
  4. From what I've seen those gems need some suspension work. At SDO the minimum DZO driving speed in the landing area is 60 mph, that's a problem. I was looking hard at the EV F-150 but I hate Club Cabs. Maybe when you get serious and develop the 100 pound car battery we'll all be better off.
  5. I just like driving my F-150 around the airport at warp speed for giggles alone. Can't do that in a Prius.
  6. The historical context is irrelevant. We have Harris because that was required to unseat Trump. All things Presidential are now viewed in terms of Before Trump and After Trump.
  7. Is Winsor singing Christmas songs?
  8. You got me, but I can say that if you'd tighten your laterals you wouldn't look to be struggling with a perfect student in your avatar.

And we're a long way away from that day today.

In fairness, we southerners don't really grasp what is in our Constitution, the downstream effect of our Supreme Court decisions, why it's impossible to disconnect local, state and national policies based on personal interests, or why the currently popular deity might not look like your neighbor with long hair in a few years. Now what we do understand is what we are told by anyone who say's anything we want to hear. And that is why we are opposed to unvaccinated people being denied airplane travel but thrilled that pregnant people are advantaged by giving birth to more citizens who can open carry.

Too late, it's now a part of his permanent record. I must say, I sure feel better about a few of my ill considered words of wisdom.
  12. Work??? Fat chance. No board shorts, no flip flops, no bueno.
  13. Sounds good to me. I just watched a youtube video explaining how to tell an earth from a positive. Seems straight forward. When do we start?
  14. You're on. Of course I'll need you to wire the damn thing in so I don't blow my dumb ass up. I learned the other day that I have 19.85 acres of East Side vineyard land. How crazy is that? I bought it a decade ago and let the neighboring farmers use it for nada in the spirit of comity. One less thing, right? I just remembered, I have wind tunnel level electricity wired to the driveway, you know, just in case. That's good, no?
  15. Well, we do tell students it might be a two hour wait and most live within 40 miles. Hmmm...

Terrible the first world rich people problems must resolve. Do you still have your fingers and toes. professor?
  17. Yep, and that's why we are screwed. So in the face of things can we now quit pretending we have a reparable democracy?
  18. Sorry yo, it's working out great. Think about it.
  19. And so that shall come to pass. Too bad so few realize that truth.
  20. No joke Amigos, is anyone still hopeful that rationality still has a chance in our lifetimes? Worldwide the numbers of people who either don't give a shit or are willing subjects for autocracy are not only already too many but are growing rapidly. Seems to me that the time is ripe to sell our recycling containers to the still gullible and accept reality.
  21. I like it! Hillary is totally what we need at this critical juncture. Where can I send a few bucks? My biggest fear now is the country going down the tubes and I'm no longer around to see it. She'll get the job done, for sure.

    That's hilarious. Thanks.
  23. I'm not want to look at how super billionaires do the lords work on earth as a way to calm my concerns about how they are able to accumulate such disproportionate wealth. Suffice to say what good they do is certainly minimal in context and probably entirely tax deductible at the same time. I'm with you that all anger needs be to directed at policy makers, not the current beneficiaries. Of course that means no change.
  24. All important points worthy of recognition and recital as the miserable bastard is dragged to the hangin' tree. The one thing that would help make the rest of us feel better, cause it ain't jealousy over his money don't you know, would be if stock used to acquire another company was heavily taxed at transfer and something similar to a property tax was levied on stock gains on stock held instead of capital gains tax at stock sale. Losses of course would need to be deductible. Also, we get to use his yacht sometimes.
