  1. Rob; come by the DZ this weekend and you can try out different rigs. Javelin (plenty), Vector (plenty), Wings (1 or 2), Mirage (plenty) and Voodoo (mine). I recommend you do this before you find yourself with a rig you don't like in terms of the fit. Let me know if you are going and when. Peace Out! PS. In case you don't recognize my name, it happens, look for the guy with his whole right arm tattooed. That should give you a clue. learn to fly in 3d
  2. Yeah I gathered that much, all the base jumpers I know are extremely secretive when it comes to their sites. You might know where they are but not necessarily how to access them. learn to fly in 3d
  3. yo! all you base freaks out there i need your opinions, i know that some might be biased but i want to hear everyone out. opinions on the following, please: 1. perigee 2 container (consolidated rigging) 2. mojo canopy (consolidated rigging) 3. ace canopy (consolidated rigging) 4. medusa container (morpheous tech) 5. troll canopy (morpheous tech with atair) thx and peace out! learn to fly in 3d
  4. I was looking for some rigging equipment specifically a pair of unscrewable bodkins, alum. finger trapping fids, Y shaped paddle and a solid positive tension device. Gear-store.com used to carry these but I was informed by them that they are no longer carrying rigging equipment, anybody know where I can find these items? learn to fly in 3d
  5. I was a regular jumpers @ PR before I had to move because of work. I keep in contact with them all the time and the plans for the next boogie are on the table. Nothing is confirmed yet but when things are more mature I'll definitely post it here, so you'll know. The first year we had GF and last year we had MC. Since plans are not sure yet I don't think they have contacted any FF or RW instructors / organizers. Like I said when I talk to the guys back home and have a sure word on things I'll post it here. learn to fly in 3d
  6. Yo! I know that this is probably a to long a drive (~3 hrs.) for you but if interested come to Skydive Tecumseh. They will have a Super Otter for the weekends that you are going to be in MI. Peace Out! learn to fly in 3d
  7. Lance back in YELLOW after stage 11, he ruled the mountains as always with the help of the Posties specially Roberto Heras. He has a lead of 1'56".
  8. A day of solid coaching would be just great but remember that the new things that you learn have to be practiced so that they get into your system and you feel comfortable doing them. In my opinion 2 ways with someone of a similar skill level will help you improve a lot. Every once in a while it is good to do some coach jumps but remember that what is going to make you better is good quality practice whether it be with a coach or just one of your mates.
  9. Ullrich is always a tough contender and makes the Tour more interesting. Lets hope they let him compete next year, if he wants, since his drug usage was not a performance enhanced one. Can't wait till they get to the mountains and Lance really starts pedalling hard.
  10. 4 stages into the tour and Lance is still in the top 3. Let's make it 4 in a row.
  11. I have 2 Voodoos and love them both. It is an extremely comfortable rig and very freefly friendly. I also have a friend that has one and pretty much hates it. I find that the Voodoo is a loose fitting rig and you can't even tell that its there. This is one of the reasons why I like it so much but it is also the same reason why my friend hates it, he says its too loose. I recommend that you try them on before hand so that you don't end up in the same situation that my friend is in.
  12. So Chuck how much distance is there from the "factory" line for the toggle setting compared to where you set your toggles? learn to fly in 3d
  13. How do you feel about using positive tension devices when closing containers? And how do you feel about manufactures that explicitly say that you shouldn't use these when closing their containers (e.g. Rigging Innovations)? learn to fly in 3d
  14. "Freeflying" is being able to fly in different positions and with different body surfaces. Also it is helpful to learn things at slower speeds first then progress into faster speeds. RW will teach you awareness and will help you become enviromentally relaxed during your skydive. You don't necessarily have to become an RW guru and be able to do 25 point 2-ways but it is good to have these skills. Also with the increasing popularity of hybrid dives you have to be able to fly any position to be part of them. If you know that ultimately you want to freefly then get a freefly suit from the beginning and that way you won't have to be investing money in different suits, but remember that just because you have a freefly suit doesn't mean that you can't flat fly.
  15. 1. How do you guys like your steering line setup? 2. Does your tail buck a little when using your front risers or nothing at all? 3. How far down do you pull on the toggles before your canopy stalls / collapse? 4. How high are your dive loop on the risers when compared to the position of the toggles in full flight?

    firecrackers

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/wews/20020627/lo/1239994_1.html it just goes to show you that you can't have fun with firecrackers anymore learn to fly in 3d
  17. Even though Germany is a more physical team Brazil is not that nimble and won't tolerate being pushed around. Germany's defense is a tough one but if Brazil can move the ball around and play with their usual flair they might score a goal or two. I think it's going to be a close and tough game but in the end Brazil will come out on top.
  18. Do you have skydiving pictures posted at work? And if you do what do your coworkers say?
  19. Yeah...now we just have to start trying for Germany 2006. Where we will make the finals....go USA.
  20. We just lost...........this truly sucks, but at least we made it this far and proved everybody that USA can play some good soccer.
  21. For anybody that has flown a cobalt, nitron and crossfire2; how do you think they stack-up against each other? Consider all aspects of flight (toggle, front riser, rear riser, flare, etc).
  22. Chris: What wing loadings are recommended for the Nitron, Xaos 21 and Xaos 27?
  23. What do you guys recommend and why? What is the difference between them if they are the same speed (e.g. 400 slide vs. 400 print)? And which brand has given you better results Kodak or Fuji? And how hard are they to get developed?
  24. I take it you BM Inst. are going to have BM suits for your students or not?
