I recently just purchased a chest mount alitmeter so I can check my altitude while sitflying (something I can't seem to do with a wrist mount without turning or going a little unstable). Anywho, someone was telling me that when you're sit-flying with a chest mount altimeter, it can be off by as much as a couple thousand feet because of the burble your legs create around your chest in such a position (thus making the altimeter malfunction). Yes No? Thanks. The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

Same here. I love hop and pops where you have enough altitude to feel comfortable enough to take a 5-10 second delay~thus having a fun, unstable, sweet-looking exit. Exiting in a hard track can be fun too. The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

Wassup. I've noticed a lot of us lowtimers know how many jumps we have down to the exact number, but it seems like a lot of jumpers over 1000+ have stopped logging and really don't have any idea of the exact number of jumps they have. I thought I'd share something my little ass Cessna DZ does after a day of jumping...any other DZ's out there doing this? Every Saturday and Sunday, the last load of the day (Sunset load to most of you), is called the "Beer Load" at the Indiana Skydiving Academy. The DZO (Paula) selects 4 people who are most deserving to pile into the Cessna, pur on up to 3,000 feet, and see who can land the closest to a bottle of Corona placed in the middle of our pea-gravel target. The loosely enforced rules are: If the champion of the previous beer load is at the DZ that day, he automatically gets one of the four slots. You can hover over the target, and cutaway at 50 feet if that's what it takes to win the Beer Load (kidding...relax). Back in the hanger, we have a Beer Load Leaderboard. The whole thing makes for a fun rivalry amongst the wanna-be skygods out there, and it's also a kick-ass way to end a fun day of jumping. We thought about adding a rule that states, the three losers of the Beer Load don't get beer for that night...but that's just brutal. Giddyup The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

Nice post Duece. I was at a boogie this weekend. Buddy and I going up for a two-way, another guy asks if he can join us (he was wearing a camera, so of course we said "yes" ), anyway, in the plane, we introduce ourselves. He's got an Extreme-FX 120 (loaded pretty close, if not more than 2:1)...get back on the ground, find out he's got 175 jumps. I hope I don't follow in those footsteps. I'm just repeating shit I've overheard, but someone told me that Rook Nelson had almost 3k jumps on the day he turned 16. So I'm guessin he probably had a grand around 13 or so. (

I've been seeing this a lot lately, and was wondering if I could get any imput from the older-wiser crowd. What I do: Tighten my leg straps and chest strap on the ground, then leave it as is (aside from checking it before I jump) What I've seen a couple people do lately: Tighten their straps on the ground so they fit comfortably, then re-tighten their chest strap a lot while sitting in the plane. Isn't that bad? I mean, when you have the weight of your rig lifted off of your shoulders, of course your chest strap is going to seem loose while you're sitting in the plane. I've never said anything to anyone, 'cause I don't really know my head from my ass in this sport yet....but it seems to me that the theory should be tighten your gear properly on the ground, and leave it alone in the plane. Feedback? The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!
