  1. I used to have that exact setup you mention. Basically, all a rigger will have to do is sew a strip of cordura along the right side of the bottom flap, so it forms a tight fitting pocket from under the right flap to opposed to the BOC. Just route the bridle in there. Not sure whether this can be done by any rigger though (or if it has to be a Master rigger). Edit: Damn, got beat to it!! 3. ProTrack because that's what i got and know, plus all the awesome service i hear of (not needed by myself yet). It seems to me that Neptune still has a lot of issues, which i read off here. Don't know how it works as an altimeter, but if it is a sensitive device instead of machanical, are you allowed to use it as your main alti at all? Just curious for all those regulation abiders here... Wouldn't mind trying one. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... 4. Sorry, did you look at the link at all? It doesn't look like a ProTec at all! And it doesn't look cheap (just looked at those sweet pimpin' liner options...) 5. Mail Brian. I got my copy (fresh third edition) a week ago here in Canada. Only got to read like half way through it yet, but it is truly the best book on parachutes and their aerodynamic behaviour i have read so far. I'm eager to get to the psychological part, if that keeps to the standard set in the "technical" part, it will be great. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. 9. Haven't jumped a Springo, but did jump a Sabre 2. A buddy of mine was demoing a Springo for a couple of jumps and then got rid of it because he didn't like it (don't know the reason why...). I was comparing the Sabre 2 to the Paratec Faqtor, which i preferred over the Sabre 2. It is a very good canopy in the advanced range between the Sabre2 and HP canopies, with very good slow flight and fun dive/swoop capability. Just call/email Paratec for a demo, should be easy to get it to France from Germany. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... 11. Well, the white/dark contrast line of a doorframe kinda splits into blue, red and yellow... Check out the first few frames of the video CoachjumpWeb.avi in my Webfolder (can't link straight to the file...) That is a Diamond 0.3, of course the hefty divx compression adds to the appearance. This feedback is really appreciated, i also just mailed Way Cool, and they said (yep, already mailed back!) their lens also has some aberration. So i guess there's not too much of a difference, except in the color of the casing... The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... 12. Is anyuone able to provide a comparison between the royal lens 0.3 and the way cool redeye 0.3? I have a video using a royal lens, and it has extreme chromatic distortion in the outer areas. Does that occur with the redeye too? (I realize that due to laws of optics, a certain amount of distortion has to appear, but i'm curious as to whether the extent differs). 13. I dealt with Claudio like two years back when i got mine and it sometimes took like a couple of days (3-5 max) for an answer, because he was out jumping... Sometimes you can stay in control better going HD with a HD formation, but may want headup oriented video. You can't just flip the image in editing, as you'd have to de-interlace the image first and it would simple be too much a fuzz. Having 4 same-oriented HD-videos can be more boring than having one headup among them. Apart of that i liked the double mount because i could add my Cameye without a problem. The double mount extends a little further from the head to compensate for the battery pointing inward in upsidedown orientation, but the cam sits just as snuggly in the case. 14. Look at the images on the brazilian webpage... The "double" case has the camera mountable upside down as well, so you get a headup-view while going headdown. The standard has only the straight up mount The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ...
  15. Did you do a search on it? There's a letter from the DoT stating that AAD-equipped rigs are a safe object allowed on board (print it and take along). Also bring your Cypres card (with the Xray on the back), to make sure. Flying back from FL to PHX i had to take off my shoes, nobody cared about the rig... 16. Well, i was when i was back in Europe... Got my new custom canopy (Faqtor, not R.A.G.E....) in less than 5 weeks. Getting demos wasn't a problem at all. Don't know what their marketing policy is for the R.A.G.E., though, as there are ads out but it isn't even on the products page. Kinda looks like they might have been overwhelmed by the demand? They're not quite as big as PD... The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ...

How about a Paratec NeXt? Very solid designed container, and Germany ain't that far either... The Thomas Sports Teardrop is a very good container too. Being in the UK the advantage would clearly be shorter supply lines for accessories/replacements and or adjustments. Just a thought... The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. 19. Thanks for the elaborate posts guys, this will answer a lot of tech questions (together with the other pro/con helmet threads) if people actually do a search before posting about why and what helmet. (no pun intended whatsoever) I don't think a helmet as a PIPS (Planet impact protection system) makes a lot of sense, because if i hit the planet hard enough to hurt my head, the lower parts of my body are already smahed to meat pie anyway... It is a very valuable shelter from solid kicks, door frames and the like in plane and freefall (to a certain degree, been there done that) and a perfect mounting tool for audibles. My point was, that having a helmet tested and certified, you need to burn up a couple of dozen helmets in the testing process. This is not a viable (econimical) option for many or most manufacturers of skydiving helmets (wild guess here). Thus i like to think they are build tough enough but simply didn't run through the cert process. Anyone who knows better please enlighten me.
  20. Think of relative wind. Whether you dive or do poised, the relative wind will always come from the same direction. Therefor you should be able to get stable in the same time. All that's changed is your heading, down the jumprun if you dived, up the jumprun if poised (unless you turn 90 before the pop, recommended). 23. Don't get me wrong, this was a serious question, not doubting or pun intended. Thanks for the info. I'd be curious to see how all those carbon-fiber helmets would perform, given it would be economical to have them tested according to the certification standard. 24. Did a belly 2way w/ altichick on her boogietour some time ago, i was really itching to do it because i hadn't done one in more than 200 jumps... Simply wanted to know if i could still do it. Found it felt really wrong and weird in the beinning... then when we started pulling the points, it became quite fun. And we had so much time... Even though i felt it took really strong inputs due to the lower speed. I'll probably do it again sometime soon. Scrambles are most fun, especially if the proficiency levels are mixed.
