Man the search function is a great tool This may be a stupid question, but all the replys to this talk about pulling the pin at terminal. Is it possible to have the loop too tight when doing a hop and pop? Saturday I did one and it seemed like it took awhile for the PC to extract the pin and the bag. Could that just be the reduced speed I was going that caused everything to slow down, or could the pin have been a little snug? Just curious, this was really the only hop and pop I've done since the one I had to do to graduate and this is the only time I've really watched things deploy on a hop and pop. 3?/3/2 3 (I think it was 3 anyway) feet to the head during my beer 4way. Everywhere I turned or got turned there seemed to be a foot. Did 3 really awesome jumps with some Team Funnel members at SDC. Did two 4 ways (well they were 4ways at exit anyway ) I think we even managed to get the 2nd pt on the 2nd one. For the last one we did a Team Funnel initiation dive but I got squeezed into the door and consequently went low and never made it back up to the formation. Oh well always next time. Owe beer for my 1st 4way and my 1st attempt at a 7 way. I finally got to put my new Wings/Pilot combo in the air this weekend, albeit from 6500 and 4500 due to clouds but it still saw air . I can't believe how much more comfortable the Wings is compared to the Student stuff I was using. The Pilot flew great and flared really well, both times to tippy toe landings. I jumped my first attempt at a pack job, right after a packing class. I really didn't think about it until pull time. Then it was like "Shit I sure hope this works" This weekend I jumped my new rig with a pack job that took both my wife and I to get in the bag. That one increased the pucker factor a little bit. But it opened just fine. Put me in about half a twist right at the end, but other than that it opened great. That did wonders for my confidence. I guess what they say is true, the thing really does want to open I want to pack for myself all the time, just right now if I do that I'll only make 1 load a day, but I learned some tricks at the DZ yesterday that I'm gonna try next time. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

:2:1 Got 2 low altitude jumps account of clouds. Went to 6500 Sat and only got 4500 today. Beer for first jump on new rig . I'd heard all the stories of how great Wings was to deal with but didn't have any idea until I bought one of their containers (see below). I placed my order with my dealer in Feb but due to a communication SNAFU Sunrise Rigging didn't actually receive my order until the middle of March. They still treated my order like it was received in Feb when it was supposed to, so I still got my rig on time (actually a few days sooner than they said ). After assembly I thought the legpads might be a little long. Asked my rigger and he agreed. Called up Ankie and emailed her a few pics and new leg pads are in production as we speak, free of charge. Ankie has been great. Always quick to answer an email and always pleasant on the phone. Hopefully the weather will be good this weekend and I can put her in the air. We had a guy cross a picket line to go to work. The union fined him basicaly the equivilent of 2 days pay for it. So he ended up paying the union the money he made plus a day. He also had a real hard time with fellow coworkers who honored the strike. He was forever labeled as "Picket Pete" In an unrelated incident we were being picketed by a local construction union because our company (everyone at our company has to be union) was using non union labor to build a building. When the non union guys showed up to work and crossed the picket line the union guys trashed their vehicle. My uncle did that once, only rigged the horn of the guys car to the turn signal. The "victim" was really drunk. Well when they rigged it up they didn't get a good connection so the horn would only go off intermittently.
