  1. Invite them out to the DZ to talk to your instructors. I did that with my parents and it really eased their concerns. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

  6. My wife and I had been dating about 3 months. She had told me she was in a wedding on a certain Saturday and asked if I would go. I said sure. On Wednesday before the wedding the friend of mine that I was coaching a little league team with tells me he has an extra ticket to the Nascar race in Michigan, did I want it. I had never been to a race so I asked my wife (not married yet, only been dating 3 months) if she would be pissed if I went to the race instead. She said no, go ahead. Well she lied, man was she pissed. My argument was hey you said I could go, you can't be pissed. She came back with I would have went anyway, so I said then she'd have a right to be pissed . Fast forward 11 years and I still hear about it from time to time. But now it's turned into kind of a joke so it's all good. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

  9. I even went as far as going 200 miles away to get my truck because no one around here would get me a manual transmission ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  10. That won't help anyway. I had my truck unlocked in my driveway and the bastards broke a window anyway to steal the stereo I had installed a week before. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  11. Why would you send the Goodyear Blimp to a Monday Night Football game that was in a dome? Some how the shots of the RCA dome roof really didn't do anything for me. But on a positive note....GO COLTS ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  12. :3:1 I'm no longer a two digit midget . After being stuck at 98 for the last month due to weather or work, I finally got out to the DZ. Made 3 really fun jumps. Did one 2 way, and two 4 ways. A little bit of fall rate problems on all 3 but man did if feel good to get back in the air. A special thanks to everyone at Indiana Skydiving Academy for making me feel like one of their own and making my first 100 jumps an absolute blast ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

    Question

I'm not sure of the reason, all I know is my grandmother wanted to take a picture of an Amish family and their buggy and they about flipped ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

    Question

I know the Amish don't like their pictures taken, but I'm not sure if that is the reason or not. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  17. Thanks guys. That is exactly what I was looking for ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  18. I sure hope so, my sister is a Yankee fan so I became a Red Sox fan by default ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  19. If the Yankees and Red Sox end the season in a tie do they have a 1 game playoff or do they look at the records against each other? I can't remember. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  20. I stopped for the winter last year at 45 jumps. Had about 5 months off due to the weather. First time I went to the DZ this spring I sat through the first jump course just to get stuff fresh in my mind again. At first the DZO asked why I wanted to sit through it. After I explained it to them they thought it was a great idea. It really helped my confidence getting back in the air. I say go for it, and anyone that would laugh at you because you are trying to be safe and take care of yourself really doesn't have a clue. As for the canopy thing, maybe ask about being on radio for the first couple jumps back. You can tell them not to say anything unless you are really screwing up and still do it all for yourself, but you'd also have that little safety net just incase you have trouble. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  21. You jumped? You played, deployed, and landed safely and able to jump again? I don't call that a waste, I call that a jump. Please, never jump with me, ever. I have fun in this sport. Every jump is a new challenge. A new adventure. So it might not go as planned, so what? You didn't even blow the whole dive, you still got 2 points? Some of the most memorable dives I've even been in blew apart right out the door and never fully recovered, but the view from above was awsome! Of all the jumps I've done, there are NONE I would call a waste, and only one that I regret, but that's personal. Thanks for that sentiment Jim. I have less than 100 jumps and am nervous about screwing up jumps for the more experienced people. I got invited (couldn't believe they were asking me) on a 4 way where after my 95 jumps the lowest jump number was like 2200. That jump was a blast. I blew the exit (forgot to take a grip), still got 7 pts, and they all thanked me for goin on the jump with them. They were all smiling in freefall, especially when the exit went to hell. To date that is one of my most memorable jumps. And I'm really thankful for the oppurtunity. There needs to be more people out there that will do that. Take a chance and let a newbie jump with you, you never know it might be a lot of fun, and us newbies really appreciate it. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  22. 0 (so far ):5:0 1 H+P, 1 awesome 4 way with the other 3 guys all having over 2000 jumps. What an awesome skydive. 3 awesome jumps today during a low pressure just for fun 3 way competition. 12 pts on the 1st one, 5 on the 2nd, and 8 on the third. Learned a ton and had a blast. All in all a great weekend. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  23. That very well good be, I was just relaying what she said, and she obviously thought it was good is all I was saying. Everyone makes mistakes, you can't be sure you won't sometime. I know I've made my share. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  24. Thanks for the reply. I wanted to touch on the above statement though. Granted I'm new and the strap I caught was on a newer person, but they did thiers up first and she said she had checked it 3 times and still hadn't caught it, so be careful
  25. I had mine blow off my eyes and onto my forehead on a competition jump once. After the initial shock that they weren't there and the realization that I could still see fine I went on with the dive. As soon as I deployed and got stood up they came done right where they were supposed to. Got down and promptly tightened the strap. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
