  1. When I say misrouted I mean not routed back through the buckle, just around it and then stowed in the elastic keeper. Has nothing to do with the reserve and cut away handles. What I was asking is why would you stow the excess strap covering the chest strap buckle, where someone giving you a cursory look couldn't make sure you actually put the strap "through" the buckle. Hopefully that makes a little more sense. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  2. Ok, thanks Dave. I hadn't noticed that the straps were different, I just noticed I couldn't double check the routing on them. Thanks for the input. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  3. I Have kind of a wierd question. Why do some people stow their excess chest strap so it covers the buckle? Is there some sort of advantage to it? I caught a misrouted chest strap in the plane this weekend and it got me thinking that with the excess covering the buckle it makes it a lot harder for someone else to check while looking around in the plane. I personally want everyone that can to be able to see my gear is on correctly so just curious why anyone would intentionally cover a vital piece of it. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  4. And is that why you only have a "1" listed in the 1st column then? Got INTERUPTED did thee? Then of course no more for that weekend! Sorry, just couldn't resist that. Blues, -Grant Hmmm, guess I should have worded that one a little better . She was gone all weekend, until the party Sunday nite. I'm not tellin what happened after the party ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  5. 1:2:1 1 great surprise birthday party I threw for my wife's 32nd. Everything worked to perfection until she came home about an hour earlier then expected . But a good time was still had by all I think. Got 2 jumps in this weekend with Jeth. She came to Indiana Skydiving Academy from SDC for Sunday and put up with the crappy weather, and a cessna . Ended up jumping in the rain the on the first one and cutting the altitude short on the 2nd but still a good time. Owe beer for my first chest strap save. Was looking around the plane as we were turning on to jump run and noticed a jumper with a misrouted chest strap. Keep looking out for your friends everyone ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  6. My Pilot 188 opens a little funky at times too. It seems to like to dive to the right. I had a friend go up with me and watch my deployment and he noticed I was dropping my right shoulder as I threw out. Sure enough, made some more jumps and really concentrated on being symmetrical and it opened great. No dive and perfectly on heading. I would suggest really trying to be symmetrical through out the opening and see if that helps. Keep in mind I only have about 30 jumps on mind, but it's a place to start. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  7. I just want to jump in here with more Wings support. Ordered mine and there was a slight mix up getting my order from my dealer to Sunrise. BAsically the factory didn't recieve my order from my dealer due to a fax mixup or something. 1 phone call to Sunrise and 1 to my dealer and the problem was solved, and they still got me my container on time even though they actually recieved my order late. Also had a slight issue with the leg pads being a little long. Made a phone call to Ankie and sent her some pictures of the leg pads and I had new ones in 3 days at no charge. I was very impressed and am incredibly happy with my Wings ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  8. :5:1 2 awesome 3 ways on Saturday for the Indiana Skydiving Academy 3 way competition which my team won . Today did a 2 way a 3 way and a solo, basically just screwing around. Too hot to do too much, and packing really sucked this weekend. I think I lost about 5 pounds ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

Looks like I ended up on the wrong railroad. Good luck with your continued training, and if you end up on the road to Chicago let me know. Our hotels are pretty close together. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

hell we don't even get off days. Right now the only days off we get is if we work 7 straight days we can get 24 hrs off. There are certain jobs we have with assigned days off but you have to have a pretty good chunk of seniority to hold them. Bein in Atlanta training are you on the CSX or NS just out of curiosity ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

get used to working when everything else is going on. Once you get done training you'll be on call and working weekends and holidays and all hours of the day and night. I had to mark off sick this weekend to be able to skydive. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

  13. 1:8:some I'm sure Participated in 3 way novice scrambles at SDC this weekend. Made 4 really fun jumps Saturday and finished 3rd with 20 pts. Man I have a lot of work to do. Sunday just did 4 really fun jumps. Tried to launch a 4way meeker with some participants of the scrambles. Didn't work so well but it was a blast. Did a 2 way with Rainbo to work on diving to a formation and a 2 way with Jeth just to go out and have fun. And finished up with Jeth and Soarfree on a 3 way that was by far the most fun jump I had of the weekend. Thanks ladies All in all a great weekend. And special thanks to Rook and Billy Weber and the entire crew at SDC for holding the scrambles, I had a ton of fun and learned a lot. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

I was in tears laughing ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  15. Well it's official, the wife and kids think I've lost it. Heard "Don't Fear the Reaper" today and started laughing hysterically and shouted out "More cowbell" The men with the jackets should be here any minute ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

  17. Any idea of a phone number or website for them? 21. Is there a way you can take a picture and post how you are now stowing your excess steering line. I too have a Wings and not sure I like how the line stows. If you could post a pic or a description of how you do it, I'd be appreciative. Thanks ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  22. :2:2 Had to drop my rig off at the DZ Saturday to get shorter leg pads replaced then get to a graduation party. Man it was tough to just be at the DZ for 15 minutes when the weather was so nice. Woke up Sunday to beautiful blue skies and light winds. Gathered up the troops and hi ho, hi ho it's off the the DZ we go. Got there just as just as the clouds moved in . Did manage to get 1 jump in from 9500 with Rainbo and Brian. Had a really sweet exit. The dive went surprisingly well. I actually stayed on level with Rainbo when we broke grips and flew fairly close . Dropped a bit when I went to turn but Rainbo gave me some really good pointers on how to avoid it. Ended up leaving early Sunday for the 3 hour trip home and got home in time to watch the 600. Monday my wife had to work, so I had the kids. Called Indiana Skydiving Academy about 230 and they were flying. Packed up my stuff and headed out there as soon as the wife got home. Only got 1 jump, but man what a jump. When it started it was just going to be all hop and pops. They then decided to go up to 6K and we launched a 4 way round with Paula, Steve, Scott, and myself. Man what a great exit we had. Everything went great. And since it was the last load of the day it was Beer Accuracy time....and on my 1st attempt at beer accuracy I won So I won a bottle and owe a case , but man was it worth it. I love my Pilot All in all a great weekend. 2 great jumps, learned a ton, and my accuracy is getting better. Just have to have someone put a beer in the peas . Owe beer for my first 4 way launch out of the cessna and the aforementioned accuracy win ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  23. I've got my cousin's high school graduation on Saturday. Sunday I plan on being at Skydive Chicago all day and Monday it's back to work ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  24. I've done this a few times. Rather than cross the runway to get to the landing area I just landed across it in the field. I was also told when you do that if there is an aircraft on the runway or on final to landing to kneel down. This lets the pilot know you see him and aren't gonna walk out in front of him. And I also didn't land right next to it, I gave about 50-75 yards cushion. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
  25. I told you, jump on the South Shore some weekend and come jump with me at Indiana Skydiving Academy. Nice wide body 182, really relaxed vibe, lots of fun. I'll even pick you up at the train station. You just have to pick a weekend that I can sneak off from work. ------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
