  1. So as much as 21% growth per year, compounded. Sounds about right.
  2. For those youngsters who are not familiar: ● It is certain ● It is decidedly so ● Without a doubt ● Yes definitely ● You may rely on it ● As I see it, yes ● Most likely ● Outlook good ● Yes ● Signs point to yes ● Reply hazy, try again ● Ask again later ● Better not tell you now ● Cannot predict now ● Concentrate and ask again ● Don't count on it ● My reply is no ● My sources say no ● Outlook not so good ● Very doubtful
  3. Hmmmm, I seem to recall that that is already legal in some states (at least marriage is), if the female is beyond the age of conception.
  4. US. https://www.coxautoinc.com/market-insights/q4-2023-ev-sales/
  5. Desantis receives a campaign award:
  6. Only 7% of pickup truck owners (and far less sedan drivers) tow "frequently." 75% of pickup truck owners tow one or less times per year. For sedan drivers, it is much less frequent. If you spend most of your time driving long distance, you might save some time "fueling" by using gasoline -- otherwise, your total "fueling" time per year will be less with electric. I drive a gas car. If things go as they should (no wrecks and no premature engine or transmission disasters), I will never replace my car. I had my previous one 21 years, and it still ran/shifted/drove like new. One exception is that if cars become truly self driving, I will buy buying one.
  7. First Cyber Truck crash yesterday. I hope that the kid that caused the wreck has more than the CA minumum liability insurance for property damage -- $5k. https://www.yahoo.com/autos/heres-first-tesla-cybertruck-crash-154400452.html
  8. When you've been looking at an expensive gift on Amazon, and accidentally purchase it.
  9. Certainly of interest, but I'm waiting to see him disqualified in a state that he could hope to win. I'm thinking that this will increase Bobert's chances of staying in office. Edit: well, this applies to the primary, so some hope there (not much, based on who else is running)
  10. That is only existance, not being up to the task mentally and physically.
  11. Well, all they have to do is deny approval to whomever Harris nominates as replacement VP (either house is adequate), then successfully impeach/convict her. Voila, President Mike Johnson. Not likely to get 2/3 of the Senate required to convict, though. Assuming Biden wins the 2024 election, odds are that we will get President Harris before his term would complete.
  12. It has been so long, I forgot that turtle was on my ignore list. If all y'all would do likewise, I wouldn't have to see this shit.
  13. There was also that black Santa in a wheelchair. How lame!
  14. Were you expecting a Green Tech Panacea? I'm not. That doesn't mean that EVs will not become the predominant auto drivetrain.
  15. That, and the rumor that he has the dirt on some of them.
  16. Russian troop losses hit a new record in November, previously at a high last March. Averaging over 900 soldiers per day, largely because of their attack on Avdiivka.
  17. Protests in Russia, wives and other relatives of soldiers. No replacements available for rotation, so some soldiers have been been on continuous deployment since the beginning. Also, not getting paid on time, if at all.
  18. Fortunately, the only hiring I need to do these days can be done by illegal immigrants, for $40-$50/hr.
  19. Thanks in part to the folks that voted for Proposition 13. e.g., my neighbor's house here in California is worth 4x as much as that condo, but she pays under $2400/yr in property tax. Not sure what people near Magic Mountain voted for to make your tax percentage that high; mine are "only" 1.37% of assessed value rather than 2%.
  20. Trump like Putin because Putin is strong. Putin likes Trump because Trump is weak.
  21. By the number of views, nobody watches that guy except Putin's disinformation spreaders (and only the paid ones, not the misguided ones).
  22. Wow, the inflation of the price of food in Russia is a bit uncomfortable. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1298802/russia-food-inflation-by-product/ And that is just in 10 months.
  23. It depends. Are you using it for loan collateral, or paying property taxes on it? ;-)
