  1. So the companies that paid for team travel, helped put them up, helped pay for training etc. BUT didn't pay the DZ haven't paid to be there? Or deserve some recognition and advertising? Seems like a DZ money grab to me - plain and simple. But then again, I am plain and simple so what do I know. Scars remind us that the past is real
  2. Hey Doc, Where is that flag attached to you in that second pic? Jump Scars remind us that the past is real
  3. Nah, it's just because most people dive instead of track. I agree with you here!!! I pull in a track often and have no problems. Pulling in a dive would be a bitch... Scars remind us that the past is real
  4. It must have been one heck of a party. I have pictures of an RV parked by the pea pit sunday morning... Scars remind us that the past is real
  5. In addition to the GWPP, the locals have also decided to give out a special award in honor of the first pond swoop at raeford. The Rob-W Monster Swoop (RWMS) award will most likely be an empty bottle of rum or maybe a gold painted set of water wings. We are still refining the qualifications; nothing definite yet. Amount of water displacement seems to be the top qualification so far... Scars remind us that the past is real
  6. eh...thats the dz rigger in three of the four photos anyway. Scars remind us that the past is real
  7. Are you sure it was a true flat pack? There is a flat pro-pack as well. It starts out looking like a flat pack but it is a true pro-pack. If you learned from Sandy Reid (or from someone that learned from Sandy) this is what you learn. Jump Scars remind us that the past is real
  8. And people wonder why SCRs are going out of style... Scars remind us that the past is real
  9. I know a few. Depends on what exactly you are looking for. Jump Scars remind us that the past is real
  10. yes you can flat pack anything. I know guys that flat pack stilettos and velocities - and usually quicker than most people can pro-pack the same canopy. Jump Scars remind us that the past is real

  13. That's very true. I know some up jumpers who make a point to take the newly licensed jumpers on loads. They give great pointers to help improve your skills, and they're always having the best time. Come to Dallas. Same deal at Raeford if you ever visit. EVERYONE jumps with everyone at Raeford
  14. well - first off - I didn't sew it. There are several things I would (and have) done differently. I was just asking those that were saying bad job to expand on their post rather than just say bad job - remember the whole educate not regulate theme? I would have folded the material where it goes through the ring (similar to how mlw is joined to a hip rig), sandwiched it and used either a bar tack or zig-zag stitch on it. 15. okay - for all of those that have poo pooed so far - WHY is it bad? I'm looking at the stitch pattern - machine was working good - looks like enough stitching to pull 22 lbs. Other than it looks like crap - what is wrong with it? Why do you not think it would work? Educate me here. (remember that whole education not regulation thread in the USPA forum?) 16. I like your way better than mine. I think it could be more precise and repeatable. But you would still have to decide which size hemostat to use. I use the same size hemostat that wayne uses. Haven't had a problem yet Scars remind us that the past is real
  17. another way to test bobbin thread tension courtesy of weird Wayne - the two hemostat test. With a wound bobbin in the case, tension should be high enough that if you clip one hemostat to the thread, it will not unspool - if you clip two hemostats to the thread, it will unspool. 18. Exactly - which should make you think long and hard about doing hybrids and who you do them with. People want to do hybirds all the time and volunteer to hang to show off their 'mad freefly skills'. Then I see the BOC is loose, PC hanging out, flaps arent secure, riser covers are shot to hell and I politely say - No thank you - and then tell them why any freeflying would be dangerous with the rig they have on. Sorry for the hijack - I couldn't resist
  19. I will pack it. In my J1 I've currently got a stiletto 135. the list before that was: Sabre 150, Rage 170 and a Diablo 190. All fit with no issues. The 135 is actually a bit small I think and is the smallest I will go. Scars remind us that the past is real
  20. YES!! Enlightenment. I suggest to everyone else that is pissing and moaning about what they Charge for a repack - go get a new job. Otherwise, sit down and hush or we find a new rigger that is more reasonable . There I fixed it for you Got no problem with that either.
